I was debating on what to give them. But I decided on 3 stars because the bake goods wasn't the best and the service could've been better. I had such high hopes because I have heard mixed reviews but the brownie was kind of dry and lacked flavor to me. Nice spacious place, wide variety of sweet things to enjoy, coffee is really good. The location has good amount of parking near by. I love the large windows surrounding the place, it really brings in a lot of light, and is very nice when the downtown lights are on during the holidays. Service is very friendly. I ended up tossing the whole thing but I also got an everything bagel with cream cheese and that was really good. It was toasted well & i was surprised that they put the cream cheese on it beforehand. I was also surprised to see that they had a lot of products from Blakes in there. I love Blakes. I stopped in to buy some donuts, and the experience was honestly disappointing. The staff had bad attitudes from the start and didn't seem welcoming at all. We were simply watching through the window that's clearly meant for customers to see the donuts being made. My husband's birthday was coming up and a friend recommended this place for their cupcakes. I placed an order two days ahead of time, so that I could pay ahead of time and they'd have what I wanted. I arrived a few minutes before the pick up time. The counter person seemed a bit frazzled or new maybe, they told me to have a seat and would get my order. A few minutes, they hand me a bag. I should have double checked before leaving, but I didn't. I get back to work and look inside the bag to see a regular cupcake instead of the jumbo that I had ordered/Paid for. That's Coco who thinks she's is a lapdog. 60 lbs lap dog. loving on pup cupcakes. At Bakehouse 46, $3 a pop. She loved it. BH 46 is overrated in my opinion. Got $66 worth of stuff: all the mini cupcakes, the apple pie donut, cinnamon donut, fudge, two bags of 6 sugar cider donuts (going to two different places which I had to explain the guy as he questioned me about it which was weird) and two 1/2 gallon of Blakes cider. The mini cupcakes and specialty donuts was all too sweet. All the flavors. Didn't leave much of impression but one: Sugar bombs. Ick. Pass. Don't recall the tastes. But I can say hey tried it but it is a future pass. They do have Blakes cidar and sugar and plain Blake cidar donuts but if you heat them up in the microwave for 10 secs or less, just to warm them up (cos I perfer a warm cidar donunt) they become slightly doughy. Weird, as I have never experienced that buying direct from Blakes farm in Armada. Additionly and even more important for me as the over all experience from the moment you open the door sets the tone, the guy that waited on me on Thursday (Oct. 3rd) made me wait for 5 minutes even though there was no one in the place as I stopped in late morning (11:00 ish) and he was rude AF when he did finally engaged. Then when you check out they have the gull to give the tip option which I did a big fat 0. What am I tipping for?? For your rudeness, sarcasm, making me feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed? For making me wait while you finished whatever you were doing on your cellphone? BH 46 may sell Blake items but it is not Blake customer service standard that makes you feel happy and Fallish. Moving forward, this place has been filed under to be only visited if I am hard pressed for time for cidar and donuts and pup cupcake. I give it 0 stars for the customer service as it makes not want to ever visit BH 46 location unless hard pressed. 4 for Blakes availability when pressed for time. 2 for cupcakes, speciality donuts, fudge which are waaaaay overpriced. 5 for pup cupcake as Coco seemed to really enjoy it. I decided to stop into Bakehouse after trying two of their cupcakes at another location. I happened to be in the area as we went out to eat somewhere for Mother's Day. My husband was excited to try a cupcake, and I wanted to try something different. I tried the drumstick cupcake because it sounded absolutely delicious. I would caution to carefully pull the cupcake out and not squeeze it due to excitement like I did! The cupcake was amazing and it tasted exactly like the drumstick icecream. The marshmallow buttercream was so smooth and the waffle cone and nuts added a nice crunch to compliment the cupcake. Even though I got a tiny bit messy, it was definitely worth it! I would get this cupcake again. My husband had the chocolate lovers, and decided to wait until we got home because he wanted to have it with milk. He absolutely loves dark chocolate. The newest, trendiest place to visit in downtown Rochester. Blake's and Cupcake Station teamed up and I'm glad they did! However, my biggest complaint is the staff, they lack customer service skills and multitasking. Service is slow and clunky. I'm hoping with time, this will improve. Another negative is the cupcake packaging, they smushed my mini cupcakes, when they put my pup cakes in the right container. That precious frosting ruined! Lots of sweet treats - donuts, ice cream, and cupcakes. There are some savory options like bagels. My go-to so far has been cupcakes. The flavor options are endless and the cupcakes deliver! What a concept - a Blake Farms bakery, which now I've noticed has more than one location scattered throughout metro Detroit! I love not having to drive nearly an hour (nor having to deal with tons of people / long queues everywhere on the farms) to have access to Blake's products - specifically their CIDER! But in addition to the cider, I am so impressed with the few baked goods that I tried - they were all so moist & delicious! I'm a fan! I stopped by at the downtown Rochester location. This location is one of the newer ones and located in a corner spot, right in downtown. The bakery itself is spacious, plenty of seating area. The cupcakes are displayed behind glass and there are other desserts to choose from (caramel apples, cookies, etc). They also have frozen cider, coffee and other beverages. I couldn't pick just two cupcakes... so I ordered an extra two to try! I got the Raspberry Chocolate, Vanilla Confetti, Strawberry Smoothie and Chocolate Samoa. Each one was bursting with flavor! The cupcake was soft, spongy and not dry at all. My favorite was the chocolate and raspberry (always been my favorite flavor combo in all sweets). Staff was friendly and helpful as well! read more

Ok so I know not everyone goes to a pastry shop just for the service, but when you have both DE-LI-CIOUS cookies and warm-fuzzy service, why even go anywhere else? The Peanut Butter Cookie was that perfect balance between chewy, crunchy, salty, and ever so slightly sweet. The Cookie Monster cookie, while it wasn't my thing, my husband clearly loved it because he gobbled it up before we even got home. In fact, we've only been driving for 4 minutes from there and it's gone-gone. And based on recommendations, we got the Ginger Snap cookie, Chocolate Chip cookie, and the Cinnamon Roll donut. Haven't tried those yet but they look amazing and I'm actually tempted to bulimic this PB Cookie just so I have enough room to try them. Anyway... But what will stay in my mind is the incredibly sweet girls at the counter. They were super engaging and patient and, I don't want to sound like THAT old lady (37yrs btw so feeling old but not old-old) but I really feel like customer service has been lacking. I'm not of the mindset that this new generation is lazy and entitled. Nor do I believe necessarily that it's "how they're raised" because, well, that would put it on me and my generation. I just think they've been through some really shitty things in the past few years, and putting all that responsibility on them is unfair. Clearly my ADHD has gotten me off topic BUT these really adorable girls took their jobs seriously and went well above and beyond. I would be proud to have them in my restaurant so I hope Bakehouse 46 shows their appreciation daily because other establishments are definitely going to try and poach them. Got a variety from this place. Best was the apple pie donut, then the cheesecake bar, then cherry chip donut, then the banana pudding. We also got the fruity pebble donut which was ok. I would not recommend the cupcakes at least the two we ordered were not worth the price paid, they looked good but were way too sweet, one was the chocolate lovers and the other was the strawberry cheesecake. The frosting taste identical to boxed frosting from the store. I still give 5 stars because everything else besides the cupcakes were amazing. Always a fan of their plain donuts (a bit small, but it's only $1.25). Honestly a great snack/dessert to get while walking around DT Rochester! This place does close by 9 PM, so definitely stop by beforehand! The interior is neat and spacious with comfortable sofas.
