This place years ago used to be an old dive sports/factory bar. They have really done a nice job of expanding, lightning up the whole area and cleaning up the bar. The menu he's got some really great choices, the bartender told us that they have open mic night with live music on certain nights of the week. We got the Italian and the destroyer, both did not disappoint very tasty very fresh. We sat at the end of the bar that you could actually see into the kitchen and we had one bartender seven customers and four people working in the kitchen which was very impressive. This isn't a rinky dink operation I think I could come back here for a group event and know that we wouldn't wait forever. Kudos to you guys for bringing this place up to standard! read more

I purchased take out from the previous location 5 years ago and everything was homemade. I didn't realize they moved and now have a giant restaurant. The food menu is huge, with lots of fresh/homemade ingredients and some British flair. First time I ordered the peanut butter and banana sandwich, which you rarely see on a menu. Yesterday I ordered Bubbles and Squeak, a newer breakfast item. I've never had this dish elsewhere and it was delicious! The place has great food, ample seating and really nice staff. I became familiar with Chadd's Bistro when it was included in Yelp's "top 100 places to eat in the U.S." list in 2022. It made that same list in 2017 and 2018, as well. Originally located in Rochester Hills, Chadd's is now in Shelby Township. The menu features over 3 dozen sandwiches, and there is a full bar. The bread and sauces are all made in-house, as well. My wife and I began our meal with poutine. Despite being a bit salty, it was one of the better poutines I've had locally. For our main course, we shared 3 sandwiches: the cheese steak supreme, the Italian sub, and the Monte Cristo. The cheese steak was flavorful, but could've used more cheese. The Monte Cristo was enjoyable. I found it to be more savory than sweet. The Italian was the best of the 3 sandwiches. I liked that the meats were sautéed, that the tomatoes were diced rather than sliced, and the addition of pickles. All in all, Chadd's has a quality sandwich for everyone on its menu. read more

First time at this restaurant where I ended up ordering their BLT with chips and got a Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned for my drink. The sandwich was well made, quite tasty where the toasted house made white bread and generous amounts of thick cut bacon made this a superior crafted sandwich. My only minor gripe with the Sandwich was that the mayo was too lightly applied and needed a tad more amount to augment the flavor. Relative to the Old Fashioned, it was was well made with a nice amount of Orange bitters complementing the Bourbon, a Black Amarena cherry as garnish which is a higher end cherry that is not typically served with most bars, and a large whiskey Ice cube in the glass (nice!). The $9. price point for this drink, especially with the Woodford Reserve Bourbon is a great deal by any standard. On the flip side I did have one minor gripe with this drink as is it needed a tad more simple syrup (assuming it was there in the first place) to make this a top shelf cocktail in my opinion. Relative to the restaurant, it is fairly large, quite clean and has some TV's strategically scattered about with Sports program playing which I definately enjoyed watching while eating my dinner. The wait staff was very friendly with good follow up throughout the meal and is another strength of this business. Overall I was quite pleased with this initial dining experience where the minor items I mentioned prevented me from giving this establishment 5 stars. Having said that, this is a very good restaurant that I will definately revisit the next time I am in the Utica area. read more

Went for lunch on a weekday. The service was great. Incredibly friendly and she shared favorites from their large menu. I loved their game wall and would love to cole back for dinner with my family. This place is huge! Located in a corner of a strip mall, Chadd's is a great place to eat, play board games or have a drink. I came for a late lunch on a Monday. They were open on a Monday and during "linner". Josie, our waitress, was incredibly attentive and kind. She noticed I needed water from the other end of the bar and brought me a new glass before I had the chance to ask. She gave us space to chat and eat yet never disappeared and was so informative on the menu and ingredients. I learned all their breads are dairy and egg free AND made in house. Sauces all homemade too. Four stars only because there are almost no vegan options. I ordered the peanut butter, banana, granola sandwich. It was delicious and good size. My guest ordered a chicken sandwich and the fries. They were very good and her sandwich was huge. I'd love to see a plant based option with grilled or marinated tofu or even something with hummus and their artichokes. Just left here. Two of us arrived right at 11 opening. No one else there. Took 25 minute to get a Dirty More on un grilled rye. Bread was dry and fell apart. One slice of tomato. Minimal semi fatty corned beef. Then charged .50 cents for the chips that the menu says are included. Only switching to fries was an upcharge. Other meal was cup of mushroom soup with half veggie reuben. Arrived at table without soup. Waited another 10 minutes for soup to arrive. So, 1 Dirty More with chips and water, 1/2 Veggie reuben, cup of soup, 1 glass of wine,,,,$43.00 without tip. Yikes! Could of been WAY better! read more

Have lived nearby Chadd's for years and never stopped in for whatever reason. They moved into a bigger location and I decided to finally give it a try. Went in for lunch. Place was not busy. However, I was greeted immediately by an awesome and friendly bartender. She told me how they make everything fresh. I ordered a Rueben sandwich to go. Had a little bit of sticker shock at how expensive a sandwich was. I can't remember the exact price but it was north of $14. When I got home and dug into the sandwich I was blown away. It was delicious and HUGE. It is basically two sandwiches. I could only eat half and ate the second half for lunch the next day. The price was justified based on how large this sandwich was. Ordered Turkey Supreme Sub. Disappointed after reading the reviews. Maybe a bad night? This sub includes dark meat, not a fan of dark meat and both light and dark meat were dry. A few pieces of lettuce was wilted and mushed into the two tablespoons of diced tomatoes, instead of sliced tomatoes (none of which was fresh) bacon was burnt and old, couldn't find the provolone, guacamole or mayo. Best time for a Saturday nigh! You need to come in for fantastic food.. but wait I loved having a dart game after dinner. Food is solid delicious as it was at the old location. Only a short block east of the prior spot. Pastrami just as good as the last time I had it, not too fatty and not dry, total taste party on the tongue and lips. Husband and I split it, indulged again in the best sweet potato fries in Michigan.. far as I know to date. Andddd...!! Whaaat!! What was I thinking taking soooo long to come back. Dumb! It has been a long time since I been at Chadd's Bistro and I was looking forward to getting a Pastrami Sandwich and hand cut French Fries. What a disappointment, the fries were not crispy, Pastrami was dry, chewy and sparse. I don't mind paying $16 for a sandwich because when Chadd was there himself the sandwiches were Incredible!!! Went to dinner with my family here tonight. The space is SUPER cute. I can easily see coming here for a second date or with some friends. Tons of board games everywhere, fully stocked bar, and very spacious. Decor was adorable. When it came to the food, it was overall good but I've come here to make note of it for those looking for menu suggestions. First, perhaps this was a fluke, but the chicken noodle soup was incredibly oregano based. Like it was oregano city up in this place. Not my cup of tea, or soup, perhaps in this instance. The other is that I ordered the Grilled Maguro. Well, I did see the little asterisk on the menu about consuming raw fish, nothing could've prepared me for receiving a piece of fish that was rare to medium rare. Like it was super raw. I did send it back and supposedly that's how it was supposed to look, though consulting with the menu photo online that is not the case. That said, once I asked for it to be cooked well done, it was DELICIOUS. TO DIE FOR. If I return, I will be ordering that again, just I need to specify how I want it cooked (i was not prompted by ordering). The photo I have attached is the fixed sandwich with some sweet potato fries. They came with cinnamon butter which was nice. Overall, I'd put this somewhere around a 3.75/5. Definitely seems like a great place for socialization! It really wouldn't take much to make this an amazing 5 star place. The food is top notch which they have always had since their prior location and mentioned in many reviews. The 3 star dining experience my wife and I had gives it the 4 average. While the staff was friendly the place just had a weird vibe and was nearly empty on a Saturday evening except for a few regulars and either owners or employees sitting at the bar. The three staff tag teamed our service from behind the bar and were not always in synch with where we were at in the dining experience progression. One of them was constantly sneaking vapes in behind the bar which was annoying to watch. The lights on the walls are blinding which sort of just exemplified the atmosphere being odd and not cohesive.. is it a deli? A bar? A place to play board games? When we left one of the people sitting at the bar was juicing limes or lemons while sitting on the patron side of the bar. It seems like there is probably some good people trying to make a go of it but just don't have the professional experience needed to make it work. Based on a totally different dining experience we had recently, I would recommend the owners go to Primo Cantina in Shelby Twp for a meal and pay attention to every detail from their arrival until they leave. Great service and epic handcrafted from scratch food!!! I personally crave the Skinny John with sweet fries and their signature cinnamon butter to dip the fries in. Now I can add an adult beverage and play games too. The game wall offers lots of new board games as well as the oldies but goodies during my last visit we got to watch a local artist craft a Cheshire Cat as part of a huge mural of our favorite childhood games. Food is excellent- they make their own bread! Awesome sandwich selection! You could try one new sandwich each day of the month and not have a repeat! Service is good too-everyone that works there now is super friendly . They greet you when you come in and have you 'sit wherever you'd like', and it seems like they enjoy their work. The owner is a great dude & I see him regularly working in the kitchen alongside his employees. The Ambiance is mostly really good too- they do have TV's and will have whatever sports games going that sports watchers like- but they aren't loud so I (as a non sports person) can easily tune out/ignore it. I really enjoy the variety of board games and card games to choose from! Kid friendly as well - games for all ages available and some coloring books too. I was there working recently and noticed the music playlist start over - when I went up to the bartender and made a request they were happy to honor it.
