She was nice enough but "No" was the most used word we heard. Two grandkids (very young) with us got the cones, started making a mess with the cones. We asked for a cup for each of them and got it! Tried calling the store several times to confirm it was open, and no response. Finally decided to chance it when we drove by and saw a car sitting at the darkened drive-thru, and what do you know they actually were open. Received a half-filled cup for my Medium blizzard. Asked why the store was so dark, with no real explanation. We sat out in the parking lot as we ate our ice cream and watched quite a few cars drive by, slow down, look to see how dark it was, and continue on without stopping. Visited today. A person who had previously gotten their Blizzard came back to the counter and noted that they didn't have much toppings. The staff was trying to be helpful, I suppose, when they added more toppings to the person's half-eaten cup and then remixed it in the Blizzard machine. They then made several more Blizzards immediately after... without sanitizing the machine. Even after we pointed this out to them, they continued to make more Blizzards on the unclean machine. Secondarily, I ordered a large chocolate cone. My wife ordered a medium. The cones have color-coded rings on the paper sleeves. Mine came in the same sized cone as my wife's (and you can see the size difference just looking a the bottom of the cone from behind the counter)... and when asked, they said it was a large. Stopped in tonight for a drink for myself and ice cream for my family. The drive thru employees were all so friendly and our order was handed to us very quickly. Line was a bit long but that just shows people want goodies at 8 pm here in WF! Solid three stars - ample parking, especially as this location is tucked off to the side of a very large parking lot. I have not been to this Dairy Queen for over a year because of the poor service and never having the items I ordered. So I decided to try it again thinking it must have gotten better. WRONG!! You gotta love DQ. The ice cream is outstanding and the workers at this location always greet you when you enter. They ask you if there is anything that they can help you with and they appear to honestly mean it. I am a fan of The Blizzard and I never knew I could get both Butterfinger and Heath Bar in my Blizzard. It is a new addiction and when you need to lose weight it is not an addiction one should have. The dipped cones the Blizzards and everything we have tried are always fresh and delicious. Warren Buffet the great investor purchased Dairy Queen years ago. Warren always says he will never purchase a business unless he understands the business and the business plan. Well Warren likes Dilly Bars so he bought the company. Nice to have that kind of cash. Not the easiest location to find, but it is well worth the search. You will be treated with respect and feel the employees are honestly happy to help you. read more

What sets this DQ apart from other businesses ? The staff. Ice cream is ice cream. This DQ is a good one, but the staff is what makes this DQ better than most fast food places. This DQ has always been clean when ever I have gone in which means the staff always seems to be cleaning up after themselves and customers. The staff always seem like they are a in a good mood and smile when they give me my order. They never seem frantic and they work pretty fast. I have never had to wait long, even on busy summer nights. The ice cream is always good and it seems like they do a little something different here to make it thicker. There were 8 employees behind the counter just standing around and 2 others actually working. Before covid 3-4 employees ran the place... One of the blizzards wasn't blended at all and just had toppings on it, I took it back to the door to ask for it to be blended or remade and when the guy came back with it he laughed in my face like they'd done something to it. I made a special trip to Dairy Queen to take advantage of their advertised special of Girl Scout thin mint blizzards. The entire experience was an utter failure! I ordered a small and a medium. When I got to the pick-up window they had 2 mediums. They said they would just go ahead and give me the two mediums but charge me for just one of each. Looking at my receipt when I got home they had not done that. Secondly, the blizzards they gave me were so severely melted that they were running all over the top and down the sides of the cups. By the time I had got home the mess was also all over my car. The blizzards themselves were awful. Girl Scout thin mints were a joke and the second half of both cups was just pure vanilla ice cream. They had obviously not blended these. As for giving them to you upside down, that didn't happen and for good reason. Upside down would have resulted in the contents of both cups all over the place. This was an experience that will have this customer never returning to that Dairy Queen again. They deserve to not have your business! read more

We had many issues with this locations, and ultimately ended up going somewhere else. First, this fact alone doesn't effect my review but for your knowledge; their doors are still locked, so you can only go through the drive through or get curbside pickup. So our group of 5 went through the drive through because we HAD to, and we were told we couldn't do 2 separate orders, they only allow one order per car (I've never had this issue at any other fast food place!!!). So we started our order, we had 3 people who ordered chicken strip baskets, and 2 people that wanted hamburgers (and then icecream for each person). We were then told that they don't serve hamburgers at all at this location, and they can only sell us 2 chicken baskets. So they literally don't even have enough food for more than 2 people in the entire building. We went to firehouse subs for lunch and got our icecream at Goodberries, and had very good experiences at both of those places thankfully. read more

With what seems like the disappearance of the roadside frozen custard stand, DQ seems to be the logical option. My bride & I decided to take the old little yellow car out for a spin on Sunday, see if we could dust off some of the horses from under the hood and open up the flowmasters a little. I asked her where she wanted to go and she said "For Ice Cream" After a spin to Mebane, we circled back around and ended up in Wake Forest. Truth be told, I really do miss the roadside custard stands, and DQ really doesn't make for an apples to apples replacement. With other options like Maggie Moo's and Coldstone Creamery, I'd still rather go to DQ just for the simple soft ice cream option. Dear Dairy Queen, Your ice cream melts too fast! Omg I was eating the one where you guys get the vanilla ice cream cone and dip it in chocolate and it dripped all over my hand and in my friend, Caitlyn's, car. Luckily her car is already super old and messy that it didn't really matter. Caitlyn has a 1998 corolla and I always make fun of her when I see her in it. But I guess you could call me a hypocrite because my car isn't very luxurious either even though it's a 2009 model, I have to take it to precision auto tune every other week. Right now it's actually doing this thing where it shakes when I'm parked and it smells like gasoline and when I step on the acceleration it takes a few seconds for the car to move. All that glitter isn't gold as they say. I do have quite an impressive cd collection in my car though. I actually just ordered In the Wake of Poseidon by King Crimson on amazon and I'm looking forward to that coming in the mail so I can listen to it when I'm driving. The audio in my car definitely sounds better when you're listening to anything but Bluetooth which is a shame. I'm trying to find a lightning adapter so I can attach my iPhone 8 to an aux cord and hopefully my music will start to sound better because the way it is now is it doesn't play what your left headphone earbud would play and also its maximum volume is not loud at all. I've been listening to Achilles Last Stand a lot lately so hopefully when I get the aux chord situation figured out that will be a lot more enjoyable. read more

Can't believe I'm writing a review for a Dairy Queen. So we stopped by after a request from a family member for a chocolate malt. The guy at the the front desk was super friendly, very engaging and really knew the menu. (I think his name was Jack? and he was in training) We decided to order dinner for four people of chicken fingers, chicken sandwiches, cheese curds, onion rings. Granted... nothing above was "healthy" but it was AMAZING. Seriously. The chicken fingers were to die for -- fresh, juicy, tasty. And the cheese curds? WOW. They are on the bottom of the menu but should be on the top! So next time you go in for a blizzard, try the cheese curds too! Thanks for great service as well! read more

Dear Mrs Eileen- I can definitely tell you firsthand that your DW location is one of the best we've visited. I literally eat 1 Large hot fudge Sunday from Dairy Queen every single day regardless of geographical location or ... anything really. (Totally not joking :) ) My husband and pup Rolex are also apart of the daily task. First- we've always received nothing but friendly and fast service - regardless of online order or drive thru. Second- Not all of the DQs offer pup cups - Rolex is very appreciative. Third- It's the only ice cream that doesn't hurt my tummy :/. These days it takes a lot for one of us to call corporate hq- but they 100% know who we are, as some of our experiences in locations in the Western part of the state have caused complaints from my husband that had them completely re-staff the location. We picked up ice cream to go. They offer half price deals in the freezer which the cashier is not familiar with. But once the manager took over the register all was smooth.
