I'll admit usually the service in here is very good. They get your ice cream to you quick, even when they are busy! However I'm a little disappointed because I came here early before work to grab a quick treat for myself as on google maps and the official DQ website for this location is incorrect so when I showed up it was not open. I don't blame the location, all of the workers are very nice and work efficiently. But please update the hours online so this doesn't happen to others!! read more

Met with my family here for a quick ice cream treat. My family arrived before me, and was already seated with their ice cream when I arrived. While it was somewhat busy at the counter. I was ignored for a good two minutes. After I gave up and just sat down with my family to enjoy time with them, I noticed how poorly maintained the restaurant is. my family had to continually shoo gnats away from the food. Don't think that we will be back. read more

Finally got back and were happy to see the front machine working, producing nice frozen ice cream in a perfect serving size. Well pleased

This location is my favorite because the staff is great! Food is the same as every other location, and they have plenty of seating inside and outside. The ambiance is obviously family friendly and they have plenty of parking in the plaza. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service, worker knocked over my blizzard and pretended like nothing happened. Know what time it is if I see you out and about lad. read more

Absolutely the best d Dairy Queen that I've ever been to. For over 20 years we have never gotten a disappointing dessert. I recommend the malts, shakes and blizzards. Young staff, very consistent in preparing orders. read more

I always get m&m blizzard and every time it was so yummy, although one time the worker flipped upside down but he dropped it, only 1 star off read more

The absolute worst place to get food or ice cream. Ice cream is water and tasteless. The advertisement on TV for their meals does not exist at the Monroe, CT location. Extremely limited menu. A chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread was like a buck and no flavor. One tries to call and the +1 (203) 880-5880 Dow not work! No way to contact a manager to express disappointment in food. Save your money go to McDonald's across the street. read more

Dairy Queen Ltd Brazier - a chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Monroe, Connecticut

One of the other reviewers wrote that staff sometimes seemed annoyed to be there and I'd agree. I really never much liked it here. The offerings are very limited. (I am referring to the Ice Cream, not the other food.) And I have felt the same way as other reviewers about the staff. It's also crazy inside. Very hot, kids running everywhere, loud, just not for me. This area does seem somewhat limited on Ice Cream places. Newtown has more then Monroe. I do know people who like this Dairy Queen but I don't. And to anyone reading looking for a place to go for Ice Cream, there is Uncle Al's which I just very recently tried and they are pretty good. Try them. read more

This location is very dirty. I would never think of ordering actual food here, ordering ice cream is as far as I will go and it's only because my son loves Blizzards. The floor and tables are always filthy, you can barely see out the windows they are so streaked, and the 'cute' cow benches are covered in what was old multi-colored melted ice cream and sprinkles. Seriously, my skin crawls. read more

I will not go back to this location again. Staff are most unfriendly and the servings were small for the price. If I could give a 0 rating, I would. Many other options available. read more

Great customer service. I'm a regular at this location so my face is very recognizable to the employees, they know exactly how I like my hot dogs thrown at me. Each evening I enter this establishment and pay $26.43 for dogs to be pelted at my face upon opening the door. They have great blizzards, I've ordered multiple of the NY cheesecake. :) read more

If I could give negative stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE! They do not care for their customers AT ALL. I ordered a blizzard cake on 7-AUG, received the confirmation email, tried to pick it up on 12-AUG and they had NO RECORD OF MY CAKE. The lady in the store was very sympathetic and apologized over and over. She even offered to make the cake for me to pick up in a few hours so we did that. I came back around 7:30pm to pick up the cake. It was made, not correctly, but made. I then asked for a discount because it was not made when it should have been and it also was not made correctly. The people there (which were also SUPER young) had to call their manager and ask. THE MANAGER GAVE ME 5% OFF. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????? That's a slap in the face. I will never go back here, and I will ensure anyone that asks me about it, they are fully aware of how we were ripped off. You should close your location if you cannot manage your store correctly with customers as your number one priority. Additionally, it was SUPER dirty in there. 100% never going back. read more

The worst DQ ever. My drinks are either rocks of ice or they are half full. The employees don't know how to do anything and are rude. Honestly this DQ should just shut down because it is that bad. Or get some new employees who are trained properly. read more

We go here every couple of months for our blizzard fix and the only problem we've ever had there is going at the wrong time and waiting in a forever long line. Staff is friendly & our icecream is always on point. read more

Ugh! We spent $13 on a banana split, a hot fudge sundae and a milkshake. There was hardly any ice cream on the banana split and barely any hot fudge on the sundae! Pathetic! read more

I honestly don't understand why this Dairy Queen gets bad reviews. First, Dairy Queen is popular, so there will be a line in the summer or on a Friday night...doesn't that make sense? As for the staff, it can be hit or miss. Most often, I've experienced a pleasant staff that works quickly to complete your order...now and then we've had a gloomy employee, but they've never given us dirty looks or glares as another reviewer has mentioned. The other night we got a blizzard from Dairy Queen after karate class and the girl working behind the counter was extremely nice and friendly. For comments regarding this location being closed, they seemed to be going through renovations that took wayyyy too long...not sure what type of issues they were dealing with, but ever since they've reopened, their hours have been consistent. This location is updated and clean with plenty of indoor seating, public restrooms and convenient parking. Also keep in mind that this is a family environment, so you may actually have to deal with kids running around (which I've experienced at most ice cream shops). Our family has been to other Dairy Queens and this one has always been our favorite! read more

See all

I went in and it's friday night, i get it it's busy, the kids who work there would much rather be somewhere else than working. However i really did not appreciate the dirty glares and staring from one employee in particular. I was standing in line with my boyfriend and she would past passed and into the back glaring at me. I work in customer service and I know this is extremely unacceptable!! We were so scared someone was going to do something to our ice cream we ended up leaving and went to a different place. A true loss of business. read more

I ordered a heart cake and I wanted it to say "Happy Birthday Tiki we love you man". But noooooooo!!!! I get told that the cake is "too small" what is that? I should get what I want. Never going here again I'll go to an actual Bakery and also I get told that I needed to call 24 hours in advance if I wanted to pick up the cake tomorrow. Also the guy in front looked like he dates his sister. The girls in that place have some "minty" (haha get it?) rears, I know where all that ice cream goes lol. I've even seen that European boss in there touch one of them (talk about sexual harassment). read more

Got blizzard for almost 6 dollars plus tipped them a dollar and my blizzard was just vanilla ice cream with very small and very few pieces in it. Very disappointing I got the blizzard a couple other times and it was great. Not sure what happened tonight. Bummer! My weekly treat and it sucked read more

$13 and $1.50 tip for two cookie jar blizzards which, when opened upon arriving home, were vanilla ice cream. DQ stands for "dishonest quacks". Your souls are more devoid of goodness than my blizzards were. read more

Don't waste your time. It's 100 degrees and they aren't open. Across the street is a McDonalds. I am going to get ice cream there. What's weird about DQ is they have lights and the computers are on, but clearly it's out of business. They have what looks like fake cakes in a dark freezer that isn't on. When you call their number it says 'the number you have dialed is out of service' maybe the storefront is owned by gangsters who deal drugs out of it. I dunno. Lucky for them i wasn't dying for ice cream and at least now i can get fries read more

They suck! Never open, when they are service sucks. Don't waste your time driving there chances are they aren't open. read more

Please clean the trash cans outside. It's unpleasant to eat ice cream with overflowing trash can smell wafting over. This has occurred not once but continually. We've been driving all the way to the Fairfield Dairy Queen to avoid the unpleasant trash smell. read more

Don't waste your time taking the drive out there, the ice cream is fine... IF you can find them open. This is my second issue - went there at lunch (1pm) on a friday in June. The store should have opened at 10:30am, but nobody was there there. No sign, nothing. This is my second time in 6 months dealing with them, last time was the day I was supposed to pick up my daughters birthday cake (we ordered it in advance and had spoken to them the day before about us coming to get it). But I went to go there, we had about 1/2 inch of snow on the ground and they were closed - no call to us, couldn't find anyone when we called, nothing. Took 2 more days to finally get in touch with the person and get the cake. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! They Locked the doors and hid at 9:55 when customers were still in the store. Went across the street and ordered from another place who was HAPPY to take our order. This is one of the many reasons this Dairy Queen went BANKRUPT before!!!! read more

I love this DQ more than any other location. It's big it's clean with plenty of seating, cute seating outside, friendly staff and patrons. They have a big freezer case with cakes, single dilly bars, ice cream to go. It's just the best DQ I've ever visited. read more

Staff wasn't friendly at all. Seemed like we were an inconvenience. I went with my sister and boyfriend. We were either going to go to Dairy Queen or a family-owned business, but my boyfriend wanted a blizzard. It tasted fine, but wasn't the experience we wanted. I wish I brought my money elsewhere. read more

They offer a good selection at reasonable prices, and the people who work there are friendly and pretty quick with the service. Upkeep of the benches outside and the walkway could be a little better, but the inside is well-maintained. read more

Everytime I bring my family here the employees seem annoyed to have to wait on us. Our blizzards were almost liquid, when I mentioned it the girl snarled at me because the Royal has hot fudge in it. The menu days fudge, I didn't expect hot so I also didn't expect milkshakes. That's understandable but the service was awful! I came back again, ordered regular blizzards and the tall dark hair girl that works in the back was nasty again. I'll probably not go back, service is so much better elsewhere! read more

Clean restaurant. Service is fast and accurate and the food is good. Love the cow seats inside!

place is gross dirty the cows inside have weeks old dryed up ice cream and sprinkles stuck all over them. floor is filthy and the garbage cans outside are always overflowing and stink. the flies are a pain kids behind the counter dont want to be there read more

Always prefer Dairy Queen ice cream over other brands, but it would be helpful to know what their seasonal hours are. The website is misleading and gives no indication that they are closed for the winter months. I had to scramble last minute for an ice cream. Management should keep the general customer population informed. read more

i love DQ so much! they make the best Blizzards, soft serve, and ice cream cakes! i really recommend this place! however, i did get a Blizzard that was about to fall out. it seemed like a slushee. but anyways, i would really recommend this place if you're going with your family for ice cream and some family time! it's great! read more

I was not happy with my experience at Dairy Queen last night. I went with my two children to get ice cream and was taken back at how the boss treated and acted with his employees in front of customers. First of all, he had no patience with the teenage employees and made them feel bad about themselves. Next her looked like he just drank a whole bottle of alcohol and smoked something in the back. I felt very dirty watching him touch all of the tools and lost my appetite. These employees look scared to be working with their boss and definitely deserve a raise! Overall experience sucked and they need a new boss who does not seem so much a dirty drunk creepy perv. read more

We enjoy going to this Dairy Queen for Birthday cakes and occasionally cones or blizzards. The product and service has always been good and courteous. The place is clean too. read more
