Not sure why this Dairy Queen is rated so low?? The cashier is always a young kid who is friendly and helpful. This location also gets slammed (understandable as it's across from an elementary school) and the workers are great! My husband and I pop by usually in the evenings after dinner for a sweet treat. They sell ice cream cake by the cup here which I LOVE!!! It's my weak spot and my husband knows it's the way to my heart after a long day. Once we place our order, they are always quick to make our blizzard or cone with sprinkles (another fav of mine!). The vibe here is special and so nostalgic - it reminds me of getting Dairy Queen as a kid with my parents. They still have the old style booths and have plenty of seating! They're also open late (until 10pm). Overall we love this place and come here way more often than we should. It'll be fun to eventually bring kids here in the future :) read more

I truly never expected Dairy Queen to become my go-to ice cream spot this Summer but it has. Dairy Queen has randomly become my go-to ice cream spot because they have implemented great social distancing practices and they have a parking lot. It's a plus that the staff has always been friendly even when they have a ton of people to serve. Dairy Queen has social distancing markers starting outside where the line normally starts to when you reach the ice cream pick up area. Depending on the time of day (i.e. peak hours vs an hour before closing) they always have people in line and they really push to make sure the customers are following the social distancing flow. On really hot days they turn on their mist machine to cool you down as you wait in line. It is a nice add-on especially since they always tended to have a lengthy line on the hotter days. The price of the ice cream compares similar to the ice cream shops around them but the quality isn't that great. But you can't expect much from a large franchise soft-serve spot. read more

They have all kinds of old-timey pictures along the walls of olden DQs around Illinois.
