What a great way to get the community together. We've all been enjoying the warmer temps. Not even bothered by the wind and dust. Happy Spring Y'all! Let's celebrate with a free DQ cone. If you do want the cherry and chocolate dipped cone, you can pay $1.00 extra. But today you can get a totally free cone. No app needed, no sign up for anything. Just walk up and ask for a small ice cream cone. It's that simple The parking lot was full on the side and in front. Drive thru had about 3 cars. I parked in the back of the restaurant. I was second in line for the cashier to place my order. So it wasn't too busy inside. Some people were standing around waiting for their order. There was only 1 cashier in the dinning area. And only 1 person running the food and ice cream cones out. The dinning area tables were empty. Guess everyone was taking their cones to go. Looked really clean as I passed through to exit out the front door. After I got my cone I walked back to my car where I sat and enjoyed my creamy, vanilla flavored ice cream. The Dairy Queen (DQ) on Highway 620 is the best DQ I have ever visited. First, it looks brand new (understand it's been around for ~4 years). It truly looks like a standard sit down restaurant. The signage is bold, bright and extremely legible. The menu is posted across several panels. In addition, they have the largest collection of ice cream cakes I have ever seen. Second, they have items I have never seen at another DQ...cherry dipped ice cream cones and a new flavor, Cookies & Cream dipped ice cream cones. My friend and I got the cherry dipped ice cream cone and it was quite tasty...strong cherry flavor. So good... Third, they had the most unique setup of any DQ. The counter appeared to be a kind of "L" shaped. Also, the restaurant had an old fashioned looking yet new soda machine. I was so captivated by this DQ. The cashiers were extremely friendly and welcoming. I am definitely going back to DQ Highway 620! read more

Don't get their burgers, they microwave them. You can even see them microwave your meal from the drive thru window! Ridiculous.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced thru drive-thru. The woman that was there to take my order had NO personality and would not even look my way when giving me my drinks or ANYTHING not one word was said on her part. If you happen to be the woman reading this the biggest tip I can give you is to quit a job you are not happy at because you will not get far in life with your attitude. This Dairy Queen location is legendary. I'm from out of town but after this visit I wish I lived nearby! The food was fresh, the location is well lit and clean, and the customer service is top notch. If I could submit negative stars, I definitely would. I already sent feedback on their website, but this is a warning for customers more than anything. I went to this particular location last night and got a slushy for my son, which had nuts in it. Obviously a slush should not have any nuts so this was most likely from the blizzard. I ordered at the same time. Fun fact, my son is allergic to nuts so needless to say I had to deal with a sick child. These employees here are negligent or stupid and both are unacceptable. Who doesn't love DQ in the Texas summer. The drive thru is always packed here but for good reason. The blizzards are always on point. We've gotten other desserts as well, dipped ice cream cones, ice cream sandwiches and ice cream sundaes. Always delicious. The las time we stopped here though it was getting late. We got the kids steak fingers with the DQ sandwich as a treat. They forgot to give us the sandwich we reminded them, but then when we pulled away we realized they forgot to give us the drink... they were either eager to get out of there or were just kids being forgetful. Either way it was a mistake but still a great location with great employees. They girl who took our order was very friendly and nice. The location is kind of hard to get into depending on which way you are coming from in 620. You have to go to the light and snake through the shopping complex to get to it. Chicken dumplings are very salty with no chicken and very few dumplings. They give crackers because lack of dumplings. Very disappointed.

Wow! I've never had this nice of an experience at a fast food restaurant and so I feel compelled to give a review. Kudos to management at this Dairy Queen. It is well run--polite, professional staff; very clean; food was really good and well prepared. Decided to treat myself to a Reeses Peanut butter Blizzard on this hot Austin day. I have not had a blizzard in years so this was going to be a memory refresher. To my surprise when I pulled up to pay, the very nice gentleman stated $4.76 and I responded, " no sir, I got the mini one". He stated, yes, that are $4.76. What in the world? Sadly, there was almost no Reeses peanut butter at all and none about mid way into the blizzard. It was just mostly plain ice cream, albeit flavorful. If I'm going to pay $4.76 for the smallest blizzard then at least make it right. I guess it will be another few years before going back. read more

Come on... why doesn't Yelp have bonus stars! This is a resturant that deserves 6 out of 5 stars! First, they are clean in everything! Dining room, restroom and look over the counter to see clean so clean yiu can eat off it! Second, friendly! I mean "friendly AF" as my 17 yrs old son says! Always happy and ready to take your order or even make a recommendation! Look , who doesn't want a taco for 99 cents with your "dude burger" . I know what your thinking "a taco?" Yes! Their taco are actually great! Which leads me to the third reason to give this place a shot... THE FOOD IS GOOD! Made to order, fresh and hot when it hits the table or togo bag (done both several times now)! If you've never had a "dude" chicken fried steak sandwich, your missing out! And of course ice cream... you can't make a wrong choice on any of the ice cream : dipped cones, shakes, malts .. they even sell ice cream cakes! I have been to this DQ at least five times now since moving in down the street. My family and I usually use the drive through but we have also been inside once. Every time we come here the service is above and beyond. The staff are kind, friendly, jolly, they put a smile on your face. They have amazing customer service and use manners like they really care about serving their patrons. I always get extra napkins with my order (without having to ask) which I love because we always order at least a few Blizzards and we have small children. I don't usually write reviews for chain restaurants or fast food locations but I am just THAT impressed with the service at this DQ. Highly recommend this place to anyone who thinks that customer service is dead - it's alive and well at this DQ on N FM 620! read more

We've been going to this new location since they opened but had only ordered from their ice cream menu. Their blizzards are pretty good and they offer a good variety of flavors. Their food (specifically their burgers) needs some work. The Hungr-Buster burger was tasteless and put together sloppily. Don't bother custom ordering (ex: hold the mustard), as this will fall on deaf ears. I have noticed that most of their employees are high-school aged kids, so maybe this is just a training issue? For being advertised as a "hunger buster" this burger was a disappointment. I was still hungry after eating it. Definitely not worth the price. I will never again order food from Dairy Queen. read more

First... you'll be hard pressed to see a five star from me, unless it's unbelievably good. That being said, I give these guys four stars for making good. We all make mistakes and my order was wrong but I didn't find out until I got home, miles away. As a manager myself, I decided to call and let them know. Even if nothing is done, they at least need to know there was an error so they can fix it for future guests. They were very nice and told me they would put me in their "book", for a credit. Fast forward about a month or so, I was finally in the area and decided to chance it. I spoke with Joe and he referred to his book, saw the entry and made good on the promise. The food was correct, fresh and hot. We all make mistakes. If we learn from them and make good when and if we can, I'm good with that. How about you? read more

Very clean, staff friendly and attentive. Got a burger combo. Burger great but fries undercooked slightly and cold/stale when delivered. Inside temperature a little chilly for us, so maybe that's why fries were cold. :o) read more
