For a good cheese steak or a great milk shake in the area stop in here and be happy! This place has flawless and quite enjoyable cheese steaks and all the other junk food that makes for a happy day! read more

A decent cheesesteak, definitely one of the top 10 in DelCo. I had the pizza steak with fried onions and mushrooms. It was HUGE and very filling. The roll was very fresh and soft, the meat was excellent. My only complaint is the mushrooms. They were canned, but I'll let it slide. I'm such a snob with fresh mushrooms. Place was super clean, counter staff and the waitress were very nice. Service was very fast. I'll be back to try the pizza and calzones. read more

They have amazing potatoes and fabulous French toast its very affordable and you are most definitely getting what you pay for there's history and they have very friendly staff who never disappoint read more

Food: 3.5 Service: 3.5 Value: 3 I expected a little bit more from this place after driving past it for years. Cheesesteaks were just okay. read more

Been going here periodically for 30 years, but was extremely disappointed with last order. Asked for a gluten free cheesesteak with no roll. Found chunks of bread and breaded pieces off of some sort or fried item in with the cheesesteak. Luckily saw before I ate the item and threw it out. So beware if you have any allergys and eat here. There is no attempt to be allergen friendly, the staff should be educated on celiac disease. read more

Great Burgers, BLTs, SHAKES! and don't forget about the broccoli bites, don't know too many venues that serve those, wings are also very good read more

My dad has been coming here since the 70s and I was born right up the street on Rhoads Drive so we have always been avid Dairy Cottage fans! Their cheesesteaks are tied for #1 in Delco in my book. Parking is easy, you seat yourself and the food is always top notch. I usually get a cheesesteak but last time I got a turkey, bacon and Brie sandwich and it incredible! Highly recommend stopping here for lunch! read more

Used to be the best cheese steaks in the area...not any more. The meat is chopped up and dry and the cheese is barely evident. Onion rings were overly breaded and over cooked. Total waste of $25. read more

The service wasn't great... I got mozzarella sticks and they were cold in the middle. Our food was pretty blah. I don't think that the food is worth the prices. Just not a good experience. The times I have went here I always end up regretting it. There's so many other great places in delco to go to better than this. read more

The food was good, but that was it. This is the 2nd time I was there and had 2 bad experiences with the server staff. The server was not friendly at all and I had to request they come over to get any additional service after ordering. My other complaint is I ordered a soda and when I asked for a refill the waitress, told me "well refills are not free, do you still want one". It was the attitude that was conveyed as much as the message. The person I was with, wanted to just leave. The server followed up with, sodas do not have refills. I said, it would have been great to let us know this when we ordered. My drink was empty and I just received my lunch, so I said yes. After our meal, I went up to pay, and I asked/mentioned that if drinks do not have free refills, your staff should tell the customer this, upfront. The reply was, well, didn't she ask you small, medium or large, that should have let you know. I replied, how would that have let me know? I don't think so. I wonder if a soda that probalby cost them .25 cents was worth 2 customers, plus this review. Probably not. If you do not give free refills, you need to tell your customers upfront. Oh, and if you are brought a soda that is all ice, with a splash soda, thats not good either. I should have insisted on another soda due to not really getting one in the first place, but it's best just to not go back. So bad service, no free refills (but it was more of how this message was delivered), and also no managment follow up, on a really simple issue. So many other great places in Delco to grab lunch (guess what, every one of them has free refills and friendly service). read more

I miss the days when I carved my initials in the booth as a teenager of the 70's. But the food and service have never changed! read more

Steaks and shakes for the win! Major knock for me is they are cash only! Seriously? In today's day and age, I expect to use cc. Of course there is a "convenient" atm on site that I was directed to during my last visit. Yes, this alone is something that will not have me rushing to get back! read more

Great food. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff and fantastic milkshakes. Very clean. The peanutbutter milkshake is delicious. Highly recommend place when unsure where to go. read more

This place is more of a local meeting grounds. Most of the people enjoy the food because of nostalgia. Honestly the food is sort of middle of the road, nothing special at all in fact. Not to say Dairy Cottage "sucks", but it isn't memorable. The menu is made up of mostly frozen chicken fingers, burgers, salads w packeted dressings, frozen fries, etc. However, the ice cream and milkshakes are very much up to par here. If you come to Springfield you will probably be directed to this restaurant if its late night or if your pallet is used to fast food. read more

Went to the Dairy Cottage for the 1st time in a few years. It was just as good as I remembered. Started with Maryland Crab soup. Excellent. Then came the chicken cheesesteak which was very good. I highly recommend the dairy cottage in Springfield. read more

With so many good places around, I sometimes forget the Cottage exists. When I do remember though, and I go in, its always nice to reminded how awesome they are! The food is so good. Get a cheesesteak! read more

The parking was good and the food was delish! The cheesesteak was on poi t with enough meat on a super soft roll. But, beware... any extras like pickles, onions or anything else will cost you. The fries were crispy . Definitely will return to try their breakfast. read more

Highly recommend the Grilled Turkey, Bacon, and Brie sandwich! It is so good that I get it pretty much everytime I go! Very clean and the staff is super nice so it's a great spot all round! read more

My experience up to the last time have been good here. I've always gotten a cheese steak. It's was the only place left in the suburbs I'd get a cheese steak. But I was thoroughly grossed out last time. My boyfriend picked up a cheese steak for me on his way home from work. I also ordered pickles and peppers ON THE SIDE. When BF picked up there were no peppers so he asked about them. Someone took the wrapped sandwich back from him and then brought it back with a side of peppers. When I received it, I opened it up...before I knew the back story and found little pieces of meat in with the bag of peppers they gave me as my side. Disgusting! My guess is that the peppers were on the steak and someone scraped them off. And then used them as my side of peppers. However, I can't really say and all I have to go by is what I saw. Cheese steak meat in with peppers plus residue of cheese all over the side of the baggie. Nasty and unacceptable. It only takes one disappointment for me and I'm done with a place. Seems a lot of places in Delco are going the way of laziness or just plain bad food by changing distributors. 3 stars that could've been 5 but for this past experience. However, the parts that make up the cheese steak...meat, roll, cheese are still good. I just want the people who work at places I eat at to care. read more

Popped in for a cheese steak and it was pretty good! Like the location, service was good. Solid diner like place with good quality food. Love me some typical Philly fare! read more

Dairy cottage has been a staple for my family since we moved here in 98, always a go-to for just about anything on their menu. Not to sure of the pizza, because there are so many other places in Springfield for good pie. We love their vegetable Stromboli and their fresh turkey hoagie is phenomenal. Give them a try you won't be sorry. read more

Another local institution, their cheesesteaks and milkshakes are a staple. Been around for ever, heck my parents dated there. if you are looking for a good place to go, give them a shot. read more

This place is a hidden little gem in springfield. The burgers are awesome and the fries are really good as well. I haven't had breakfast here yet but I will definitely come back and give it a try. Also their cheesesteaks are pretty good as well. The service has been good every time I've been here. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good place to eat.. read more

We went for breakfast, and it was good...not great, and little to distinguish it from any other breakfast place. But it was clean, and they went out of their way to accommodate our tight schedule. read more

Been going here for over 40 years. It has changed owners and some things inside have moved around but overall it remains the same place. Great pizza. Good cheesesteaks and ice cream. They changed from bassett's which I did not like but that's just me. Great family place so don't go expecting fine dining and fantastic service. At the end of your meal if you are not happy then don't come back but stop whining about the little things and try enjoying life. read more

Love it all. This place is definitely our new go to for a delicious quick bite!! We'll be back for sure!

I wont go back. It was way overpriced for the nasty cheap quality food i was given. there are plenty of better places to get lunch in delco that cost less read more

Been going to the Dairy Cottage for over 20 years now and never had a bad meal , always look forward to going there. The Breakfast crew of Lisa and Jaci are the best - always a smile and great service. I would recommend everyone to go there. Would be a nice gesture if you would on Nov 11th give any Veteran on this day a free breakfast like other place's in DELCO do but must have proof . Thanks read more

This place is the WORST! Food is mediocre but service is horrible! They do NOT know the meaning of customer service, rude and unprofessional. In a totally EMPTY restaurant (which should tell you something right there), the wait staff could not have been worse. You can probably go anywhere in Delco and get better. Stay away!! read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE! 3 different waitresses ignored us. When i tried to ordered at the counter, was told she couldnt take our order. When i asked to speak to the manager, my waitress (blonde, junkie looking) appeared out of nowhere to argue with me. Will not ever be dining here again due to the rudeness of the employees. We went down the street and had a wonderful dinner at nicks roast beef. Do yourself a favor and dine anywhere else besides the dairy cottage! read more

I ordered some take away food for dinner last night. We got a large white pizza with spinach, tomato and ricotta and cheesesteak egg rolls. They were both really tasty and reasonably priced. My only complaint is that they were both a little on the greasy side, but still very good! We will be going back! read more

Been coming here for many years, actually since it was mostly an ice cream place-hence the name Dairy Cottage. My kids are big fans of the milkshakes and the burgers. If you come later in the day, they have dinners on the menu now which are not bad, for when you want more than pizza and steaks. For lunch, we like their Thanksgiving sandwich, which is turkey, stuffing and gravy on a hoagie roll. One word of advice-if you order this, tell them you want more turkey than stuffing or you will end up with a roll full of bread cubes which are somewhat dry. But mostly you cannot go wrong for a casual meal that won't break the bank. read more

The dairy cottage has always been hyped up from a lot of people I've talked to, buts it not even all that. It's "basic", but it could have been better. My sandwich was good , the kids liked the food, it was nothing I'd go crazy about. My mom got a huge salad served on a small plate, lol, which could have been served a little better. The waitress was ok, not really that friendly. The inside looked nice , seemed clean, just too hyped up, maybe I came the wrong day. read more

This place got really expensive , and the food got greasier. The French fries were coated with grease as was my sandwich. I don't plan on coming back here for a while read more

Breakfast at Dairy Cottage is just sort of meh. It's not terrible, but there's nothing special about it either. The food is bland and made from frozen. read more

Good average food. Prices are good. Friendly wait staff. The portions are great, you usually will need a box.

We have been eating here and getting take out here for years...since we were in junior high...YEARS! this is our go to place for take out, especially cheesesteaks! Sadly, tonight we had a different experience...ordered cheesesteaks and something was very different....stale rolls!? Or they changed the rolls! BIG MISTAKE! The rolls are just as important to the sandwich as what you put into it!!! The rolls are airy and cracked all over like old rolls and no taste! TERRIBLE!! And, we asked for extra cheese, and payed for extra cheese...where is the cheese? This is an ongoing issue with you guys! Also, tooooo many fried onions! Did you get that confused when I asked for extra cheese and fried onions? Sorry guys, this order was a miss...we have to rethink where to go for Cheesesteaks now as we won't be coming to Dairy Cottage again....makes me sad. You have always been consistent and so good...time to find a new place for take out. Oh, and your fries are the worst....we stopped ordering them a while back....take a que from places like Five Guys....real potatoes, big difference! read more
