This place defines the term "just ok." For starters, the pizza was pretty average. It had more cheese and a lot less sauce. That usually tells me the sauce is substandard. It didn't taste bad. It was just... there. I tried the Garlic Parmesan wings. The problem there... it was all garlic and no Parmesan. In fact it was so much garlic that a bite of the wings with way too much garlic came out bitter and actually burned the tongue. And interestingly enough, my wife said the exact same thing about her garlic bread after getting a huge bite of garlic. Whoever was doing the cooking tonight was garlic happy. She considered her chicken parm platter just ok too. She thought the chicken came out over cooked. I tasted and I completely agree. It was slightly rubbery. Not terrible just not great. The wings themselves weren't too bad. Some of them were meaty while others were a bit scrawny. Inconsistency at best. My son liked the pizza. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't interesting. Which means a 7 year old palate will probably love it. As I said, not terrible. Just not great tonight. However... I ordered some cookies for dessert. And those were pretty awesome. Delivery guy called me and didn't knock. Paid 65 dollars for 50 wings and most were inedible. Some looked burnt and others had prickly skin. Maybe 16/50 were edible. if rather lick mcdonald's floors than eat then eat the wings i received. cheese fries and celery was outstanding. This review mostly pertains to the buffalo chicken cheesesteak and the buffalo chicken stromboli. Read on if you are thinking of ordering those. For starters, I got take-out so I don't feel like it's fair to address the temperature of the food, preparation time or environment other than to say that the person who handed me the food was kind and the food was ready on time. The stromboli was more like a calzone, in that it was shaped like a semicircle and not a rolled dough cylinder. There was enough chicken and cheese inside so no marks off for that but the chicken is so finely shredded that it had no texture. It was like baby food. Not very satisfying to bite into. The chicken cheesesteak was exactly the same, although it might have been worse since the bread was so soft that the chicken wanted to just slide out. Soft bread is usually a good thing and I would be curious to order a different sandwich and enjoy that bread. The only spice option was mild and it was VERY mild, and the bleu cheese was mixed in with the chicken. This is fine if you like bleu cheese but I don't and I found it overpowering. The sandwich was about $9 which is not bad considering the state of inflation right now but you could definitely do better at that price without going more than a couple miles from this place. The stromboli was about $15, fair considering that it's much larger than a sandwich. read more

This is a good Cheesesteak and a miss all in one. $9.56 after taxes and it had a good size. It had a very good amount of meat but it was a little dry. I got the stuffed Cheesesteak and it was stuffed with peppers and pepperoni and fried onions. I got provolone cheese and I could see the provolone cheese melting out of the back of my roll but it was really missing in the rest of the cheesesteak. Not sure what has been going on with this place lately. The last time I ordered, I got a New Yorker pizza and a plain was delivered. When I called to tell them, they told me they can give me a credit for next time. I told them I wanted the pizza I ordered. They did deliver the correct pizza. Today, I ordered a New Yorker Pizza, Steak Stromboli, and Firepit Fries. They delivered the Firepit Fries. The ticket clearly had all three items on it. How do you mess that up?! The driver did go back and get the other two missing items. I'm so disappointed with this place lately. It's a shame because their pizza is so good. I stopped in last night to satisfy my latest pregnancy obsession: pizza. The man working the counter was very friendly, and I ordered a sausage pie. With tax, the pizza came to just under $14, and it came with a free 2-liter soda - I guess that was the day's special? My pizza was prepared quickly, and the smell driving home was intoxicating. I can't say this was the absolute best pizza that I've ever had - if anything, it was a bit greasy - but it was tasty and had a good sauce-cheese-topping ratio. Decided to give this place a try because it was probably the only place I saw local that served margarita pizza. The pizza was pretty good. I enjoyed the sauce and the fresh mozzarella, however, I do wish they gave more basil. It was shredded pieces of basil leaves instead of full leaves. Also, this place uses cornmeal at the bottom of their crust. Not a huge fan of that, but it was still decent. The cheese steak was actually on the bland side. There wasn't enough cheese in it. I've had better around the area. I ended up having to use the cheese from my cheese fries to give it some flavor. Not a good thing if I had to use ingredients from other items to spruce it up. Garlic Parm wings - cooked really good, but needed more parm cheese. What's with lack of ingredients? You guys see a trend going on here? Sweet Potato fries - a tad overcooked, but was decent. Overall: I will definitely give them another try, but my hunt for best pizza still continues. read more

The name of this place is part of the draw but alas no fire, no wood burning in a hearth. I ordered a New Yorker, a pie with sauce, basil and fresh mozzarella. The pie smelled great in the car on the way home -must have been the basil. The pie is tasty, but for me the crust is the deal breaker. The crust is not very chewy and there is a lot of corn meal on the bottom. The mozzarella did not taste like fresh mozzarella as advertised. Overall it was ok but not particularly impressive. I didn't care for the fact that when the pizza was put in the box it was laid on a 6 inch square piece of corrugated cardboard. Some of the "fresh" cheese slices stuck to it and came off of the pie face. This place is takeout only. (I have asked yelp to add this as part of the survey because if you want to eat in here, you can't tell and would not be able to tell unless you have visited.). There is a bench inside to sit and wait plus a large wall-mounted TV that you can watch while you wait. Service was pleasant and polite. Parking is angle parking in front of the store but challenging as you have to back out onto 420. read more

Good food, great prices. We have tried sandwiches, wings, pizzas, etc. I can feed a bunch of kids pizza and wings from here for $20. Hard to do that these days. Their pizzas are OK, the New Yorker is really good (as long as you get it while still hot). Regular pizza not the best I have had but it beats a blank. Great menu which has a variety of sandwiches, salads, hoagies, burgers, steaks, grilled vegetable subs and hummus platters for vegetarians! Gyros are great and even have a few fries stuffed in them. This used to be the "420 Pizza" for locals, so I guess this is a new management - but the food was just what we were looking for tonight! I'm 36-weeks pregnant, and have no interest in cooking. Get me on the phone when I'm hungry and all a sudden I ordered: gyro, sweet potato fries, onion rings, 20-piece mild wings, and a Baby Blue burger for my Hubs. Everything was good! The fries even came with a tasty dip, which didn't last the whole order. Even Hubs was pleasantly surprised by the take-out. Next time we will get a pizza or two, from one of their daily specials. I've been in the Delco area for nearly 7 years now and I am lucky to have discovered this gem within those 7 years. Their pizza is fantastic along with their wings and subs. They're very friendly inside and I have yet to have an overly bad experience. The only reason I knocked off one star is because they don't deliver to my town even though I'm within 15-20 minutes. A bit inconsistent, but the food is some of best in this small area. I order this food mainly for convenience not so much as the chefs preparation of fine ingredients. It is the typical neighborhood pizza place, with exception they have few better menu options and all are likable. If i had any change to add it would be to pay more attention to quality of ALL ingredients freshness and consistency. Great new pizza/sandwich place in DelCo! The sweet potato fries, although soggy (maybe get new containers) are unbelievable. They come with a chili chipotle sauce which is great! My husband and I both got grilled chicken sandwiches, and they were all chicken breast which is hard to find anymore! We also tried a white pizza which was good. I love using Grubhub, as it makes it clear what I'm to expect when my order comes, instead of someone making a mistake on the phone. We were getting delivery from Firepit, until the third or fourth time when our order was returned to the store because we "didn't answer their call".. Weird, none of those times did we have a missed call. Anyway, we've now switched to pickup, which is fine. But as I sit here eating a delicious calzone with my jarred spaghetti sauce that I had to heat up, I'm compelled to write this review. Every time I order a calzone, I ask for extra sauce. If I'm ordering a large calzone, I feel I should get at least two containers of sauce, but whatever. Anyway, the last time I asked for it, no extra sauce. Today when I picked it up, I specifically asked if there was extra sauce in the box, and that I'd be willing to pay the difference. I was told "don't worry about it, you're good"... I guess I was good because they didn't even bother putting the extra sauce in. I'm not sure why they're so stingy, especially when I'm willing to pay for extra, but whatever. I will close with this: I've NEVER had a bad meal here. So despite the fact that the delivery people suck and they don't know how to read the phrase "extra sauce please" in the notes section, their food is banging. read more

I just started going to the Fire Pit a couple months ago and have to say that this place is outstanding. Their pizza, wings and Quesadillas are really good, the staff is friendly and food is consistent...what more could you ask for? If you haven't tried Firepit it's definately worth the trip! read more
