Da Gabi is a great choice in a town with many good dining experiences. Tuesday happy hour runs all night. The tapas and margaritas were very good, service excellent, and priced very reasonably. You need a reservation to sit outside. I would definitely recommend Da Gabi for a good meal. read more

Delicious and authentic Spanish (from Spain) food, great ambiance and a superb experience every time. They treat us very well and they strive to please every customer, no matter what their dietary restrictions might be. We go as often as we can, despite the distance from our home. So, we went to DaGabi last night as it came pretty highly recommended. Here was out experience. -Walk in to an empty hostess stand. Stand there for a little while. -Get seated outside, the hostess was polite, but on our way to a table a waiter cut me off at the door, which I endedup holding open for him. Not a thank you was heard. -In the 5-10 minutes we waited, we were given water from a bus boy, who said he would get a waiter to take a drink order. -3 waiters walked past our table, one twice, and the long haired male waiter with green glasses, that I held the door open for, actually looked at our table then hurried back into the building as he didn't seem to want to be bothered. -I did get a big handful of my favorite chocolate mints on my way out the door. I would have preferred to send this to the owner but there is not a contact us link on their site. Their loss, we eat out a lot, are great tippers, and regulars at a few places. Food is some of the best in Boulder, restaurant is run well, these guys know what they are doing. Five stars on the Mariscos Paella, it was exceptional. Vast selection of Tapas, in fact, it was hard to choose because everything looks amazing. Beyond that, service was hands down the best, great staff that work together wonderfully to provide a superb experience. Our sweet little server, Emmy, was outstanding. She treated us like family and was attentive, efficient, helpful, and had us smiling and laughing all evening. She was absolutely adorable. It's in an old, uninteresting strip mall in north Boulder -- and this is part of its charm. You don't have to hassle with downtown Boulder parking or crowds. The inside is done in an interesting and cost-effective manner. But the food is the draw (as it obviously should be). From the bread and the strangely awesome vinaigrette dipping sauce to the soups, salads, pastas, fish, etc., this is the place for a great, relaxed, cozy, Italian dining night out. read more

Always go when we visit Family in Boulder. We live in Las Vegas, and have eaten in some of the best restaurants. I had fresh pasta with clams, and ate every bite. The pasta was the freshest I have ever eaten, flavors were superb. Can't wait to visit again. read more

We have been traveling for two weeks and are tired of restaurant food in general, but our meal here was wonderful. We ate outside on the patio and shared a salad and the seafood stew. Both were absolutely perfect. Delicious and plenty of food for sharing. This is my second review. The first in May 2010 was mixed. The owner responded apologetically that they had been slammed with 3x the forecast number of customers that night and offered to comp a meal. I never took advantage of the comp, but returned last night for a meal that my entire party of 4 raved about. My Sapphire martini was as good as they come with a generous pour. The food and experience were top notch. Before tip the tab was about $28/person with alcohol. That is a relative bargain in the People's Republic. read more

What a great neighborhood find for us. Dagabi Cucina is off the beaten path and a family friendly, local spot. We sat on the patio and sampled a variety of tapas. This restaurant is North Boulder's personal gem. Upscale atmosphere, casual attitude. A genuine neighborhood gathering place. I've been coming here ever since it opened and have witnessed many menu changes - and it keeps getting better, and more creative by always mixing it up! Tapas are my favorite way to get together with friends and have a light bite (must have the mushrooms!) The fresh oven-baked bread, with "drizzle" consistently causes me to break my promise to stay away from the carbs. I recently enjoyed their special Christmas menu and tried the goat entree. I'm not much of a meat-eater, but the taste was a true, and pleasant, surprise! Rich, deep flavor served with perfect winter vegetables. And, oh! The management and staff are excellent - and many of the customers know them by name. I know I do. read more

This was a great find! After reading the reviews, I decided to try it with my family. I took my sister, her husband, and my two nephews for dinner. The fresh bread they serve is delicious, fresh out of the oven, hot, and the garlicky dipping sauce is wonderful as well. We started with some tapas, had the meatball (okay), the bruschetta (delicious with bold garlic flavor), the clams in garlic and wine sauce (YUM!), and the polenta (perfectly crisp with a great garnish of goat cheese and tomatoes). We also ordered the appetizer of calamari for the kids, which they loved. For dinner, one nephew had the kid's penne alfredo, which he said was "the best ever" and cleaned up completely, and the other had the cannelloni, which he also loved. I had the seafood stew which was so yummy! Again, lots of garlic which I love, and a bit of a kick with the spice. My sister had the paella, which she said was excellent, as did my brother in law about his pizza. All dishes were a good size, and we took about half the pizza home (my sis and I had pretty much picked out all of the seafood in our dishes, so it was pointless). overall price for 5 people, a lot of food, and 2 glasses of wine: $125, which I think is very reasonable. I would have given them 5 stars, had it not been for the service. Our waiter was okay, but definitely not spectacular. My wine glass was empty for over 10 minutes before he came to see if I'd like another glass, but since my dinner was almost done, I passed. He seemed to disappear for long periods of time even though we were there at 5 when they opened, and there were very few other tables. When I asked about dessert, he handed me the menu and told me there were a couple at the bottom of the specials page and walked away. He came back several minutes later and just said, "well?", to which I replied, "are there any others, or just these two?". He begrudgingly went to retrieve the dessert tray. Hopefully it was just an off night for him, but as I said, he was the only thing that kept this from being a five star rating. read more

I'm new to Boulder and tried this place with my husband last night. The food was absolutely fabulous and left nothing to be desired. However, we had to wait almost 40 minutes for the food when the place wasn't that crowded. The waiter apologized and said the kitchen was backed up, but being from Washington, DC, and having a high standard for service, I think they should've offered a free dessert or to discount the bill. I'll chalk it up to a bad service experience and go back again because the food was excellent. read more

We visit Boulder once or twice a year, and have sampled the Pearl Street restaurants. Nothing against them, but we were looking for something new. Nice north location, wonderful staff, and interesting menu. We enjoyed our meals, and their interesting cocktail menu. read more

Their food is always good and consistent. It's their service and attitude I've run into issues with. The last 3 times I've stopped in around the 8-8:30pm mark its as if I've stopped in when they're closed. The hostess will quickly say "well our kitchen closes at 9 (it's 8:30) so you can get drinks at the bar, I guess" while texting on her phone or our server will bring us the bill before our food is out. I'm treated as if I'm an inconvenience. If you're going to be open, be open and hospitable. If you're going to be closed, be closed. Your staff is in too much of a hurry to get out. read more

I entered Dagabi Cucina with high expectations. The many Yelp reviews it had showed it to be a really good place for a meal. Unfortunately, it fell short of the hype with lackluster and frankly boring entrees. The restaurant has a rustic atmosphere, which I liked. However I found the room to be a bit too hot. I was not sweating, but it was a bit uncomfortable. The staff were friendly and did not rush my table at all, which was a definite plus. Portions were generous, tapas were larger than I expected and not one of us finished our dishes. This may have been because, in part, no one really enjoyed their dinner. I had the lasagna, and while it wasn't bad, it just wasn't very good. My brother had spaghetti and meatballs and we all agreed that the meatballs were rubbery and bland. To top it off, this was our most expensive meal in Colorado yet, and our least favorite. We walked away unsatisfied. Dagabi Cucina was not a good experience for our family, and we would not recommend it. read more

brought the sweetie here for her birthday dinner. and though it was oddly situated in a strip mall like area, the interior made you forget where you were and had nice ambiance (warm carved wood, brick walls, ambient lighting). we started with some crab croquettes (delicious!) and bruschetta with trout (tasty!). then had paella (disappointingly served on a plate and not on a paella pan like we're used to, and didn't seem like it had simmered long enough for the rice to absorb all the flavors) and a salmon "empanada" which was deceiving since it was wrapped in phyllo pastry (tasty but the pastry was not flaky and the accompanying green beans seemed oddly paired), then topped it off with a flourless chocolate tart on an almond crust and drizzled with marsala cream sauce (yummers!). To wash that all down, we each had a strong and tasty mixed drink (hers was a martini, mine was a sidecar) that I ended up finishing for both of us since her liver's healthier than mine (heh heh). overall, quite a nice experience! read more

With there not being hardly any places even advertising Spanish cuisine I was looking for someplace I thought I would feel comfortable with. Since I don't live in Boulder it was a drive but worth it. I could have gone to a place on East Colfax that looked slightly more authentic but then you might have other issues where it is. Any how I went to this place for my birthday because I wanted paella really bad. I got it and it was fantastic. It does not come with sausage and chicken but it is completely authentic otherwise. Nice laid back shopping center location. Nice patio. Nice inside. Service was fantastic although if you are an impatient person you might not care for wait time being a little longer than some people are accustomed to. Servers were very polite and checked in on us frequently and brought just what we ordered. The paella was fantastic and I had a mojito to drink with it and some nice wine. Portions were more than enough to fill you up and everything was excellent quality. Since it was my birthday I was offered a free tiramisu cake. I wasn't expecting much because it was free and most places don't get it right. This one was beyond fantastic. Other deserts had by the table were awesome cheesecake and an almond cake etc. All were very very good. The General Manager stopped by our table a couple of times to make sure we were enjoying our meal and he was very pleasant to speak to. Over all it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try Spanish cuisine or already loves it. read more
