We stopped in for spicy chicken sandwhiches and a burger. The food was good. They now sell very cheap and horrible wine.(My glass of wine had remnants of old food in it) My husband had a pilsner ,it was good. We noticed a decline in quality of food last few years. The Cobb salads used to be good with grilled chicken. Now it's served with some type of guessing processed chicken?

Spicy chicken sandwich this is just 1 half!

Came on a Friday evening. Had the Spicy Chicken & swapped side salad for fries. They definitely changed the recipe, but it was still good. There was a band playing, so it was an exceptionally loud. Even though we were outside. We were on the patio area, the covered patio.

So delicious!! I went for lunch and then the next morning came back for brunch. Breakfast is top tier and the chicken wings and burgers are fire. Owner Sukhy is one of a kind, very bubbly, and everyone loves her, they make you feel right at home here! Everyone is friendly from customers to staff. True mom and pop spot ! The vibes here are the best.

Wow, really impressed and surprised... we were waiting to do our tax return but wanted to grab a bite to eat first. The outside of this establishment doesn't look like much but when you step inside- the good ole vibe comes alive! The cute expansive outdoor eating area is so charming with bar decor! Hubby and I had the blue cheese burger and a hot pastrami sandwich- fries and onion rings to go along with this. Onion rings were crunchy, huge, and oh so tasty with a dusting of Parmesan cheese and drizzled with a balsamic reduction. Fries were crunchy and delish. I enjoyed the pastrami sandwich very much and my husbands blue cheese burger was also delish. Big juicy and tasty! Would definitely return off in the Fair Oaks area again!! Oh also have small games to play- dart board inside.

We were looking for a place to have a fun dinner date and Dad's recently opened down the street from us. My fiancée had been to the old location in downtown Sac and insisted that we try out the new location since she liked the old one. We had also heard reviews about how it was just as good if not better than the old location. We got there on an early weekday afternoon so it wasn't too busy yet, but there was still a few groups of people. We walked into some great music and the SF giants on tv. The beer selection was pretty good, with a good bit of local breweries. We started our meal off with the southwest eggrolls and pretzel with beer cheese and this may have been my favorite thing on the menu, but I love snacks and appetizers. It was everything you'd imagine a perfect pretzel would be, plus the beer cheese was fantastic too and the eggrolls were great! As for our main course, she got the Caesar Chicken Wrap, and I got the pastrami sandwich (subbed for onion rings). Both were very considerable portions, especially after the large apps we both shared. I unfortunately forgot to snag more pics of the rest of the meal by my pastrami sandwich was fantastic! I would definitely recommend checking out Dad's if you're in the area

Ordered the Dad's burger, like always! So good, like always! Had a soup I have never had before and it was good. The bar tender was great as he was running around helping a big group in the party room. It's so cozy here and the place feels welcoming.

So delicious. Dad's Burger with onion rings.

Food was delicious again! I had the Cowboy Burger, friends had Dad's Burger, New and Improved French Dip, and the Blonde Sandwich. We all love our food and the great fries. It is very noisy but our waitress has a loud enough voice we could hear her over all the noise.

menu description

Parking lot empty on a Sat around noon. Service was slow with only 2 tables to serve. Food was mediocre to terrible. Chicken fried steak breakfast was mediocre. I agree w Brian's review of the french dip meat. Check out the pic of the "thinly sliced" french dip which was a big disappointment (being polite). It came w barely warm fries. After trying to eat the sandwich, I asked the server how the meat was fixed. She replied "sliced" beef. After I showed her, she talked to the "cook" & they said it's sliced, then chopped. I'd call it cube steak - Ridiculous! To the server's credit, they offered to talk to the manager to see if we wouldn't be charged. I declined & regretted that decision. I couldn't wait to get out of there. We hadn't been to Dad's in many years & was hoping to make it a regular spot as we eat out frequently.

Love this place and have been coming here for years. Very family friendly and always great staff too.

I'm genuinely confused as to how this is called a French dip? This is a barely cooked burger patty & this is the new and improved version?

I'm genuinely confused as to how anyone could call this a French dip? This is a barely cooked burger patty, & this is the new and improved version? $90 for 2 burgers & a French dip & some drinks. What are we doing here. Remove this from the menu please, I have never been so upset about a meal in my life.

This is now our Dad's since we don't have the Land Park location anymore. RIP thnks fr th mmrs. This one is farther away from where I live but still very worth the trip. One of my favorite places to watch sportsball while I have some breakfast. As one does. Food at Dad's has always been solid. Whatever you order, it'll be great! I do wish they had more meatless options. But I get by. Vegans would have a harder time. My favorite breakfast items are the chilaquiles and the vegetarian-ized eggs benny. They have two options there and one has savory tangy chipotle hollandaise, which I highly recommend trying! And it's always nice to wash down your hearty meal with a mimosa. They have several fruit juices to choose from too if OJ isn't your thing. Bottomless? Yes that's an option. Dad's also makes a legit Bloody Mary, one of the best in town in fact. We don't have to worry about finding a seat because this place is pretty spacious, even the bar area aka the best seat in the house. I appreciate the rotating tap list and how there's always a dark beer for me. Everyone who works here is amazing and I love them. I'm happy to still have a Dad's to hang out at. PS Fair Oaks Dad's has a full bar !

There was lots of parking right in front of the restaurant that made getting inside super convenient. There was plenty of room for us to sit at a large table with our babies in high chairs & strollers nearby. Inside the cafe is decorated very nicely. The staff were so kind and welcoming too. I ordered a mocha and the sweet cheese crepes. My mocha was the perfect balance of sweetness and chocolatey! I savored every sip. The real star of the show though, were the crepes. They were perfectly soft but with a slight crisp on the outside just like I like them. The filling was sweet but not overly and was well balanced with the slight bitterness from the berry topping on the crepes. Overall the ambiance, food, and accessibility make this a great spot for brunch! Will definitely be coming back.

A Great Breakfast Stop After a Hike in Auburn! We came here…read morefor breakfast during the week after a hike in Auburn. We had just finished the Lake Clementine/Dam hike and were very hungry afterward, so we headed into town and ended up at Mario's. First of all, Mario's is a very pretty space. I loved the black-and-white aesthetic and the simple but thoughtful décor. There's bar seating, booths, and tables both inside and outside. Parking is plentiful, so that's definitely not an issue. I started with a regular latte, while my cousin ordered a chai latte. My latte was beautiful and served in a very original, deep, low cup that I absolutely loved. It was delicious and just perfect. Unfortunately, the chai latte wasn't really to our liking. It didn't taste much like chai to us--it had a strong cinnamon flavor and a combination of flavors that made it difficult to tell exactly what we were drinking. So, the chai was definitely not our favorite. For breakfast, I ordered what I would call their breakfast sampler, with eggs, bacon, and hash browns, which also came with a portion of French toast. My cousin ordered their Monte Cristo sandwich. My eggs and hash browns were amazing, and there was plenty of bacon! I chose all bacon, and it was thick-cut, smoky, and cooked to perfection. The plates here are HUGE, and the portions are definitely abundant. My cousin's Monte Cristo was their lighter take on the classic. Instead of being deep-fried, their version is dipped in batter and cooked, which makes it a little less heavy. It looked beautiful and had plenty of ingredients inside, but for us, it was just okay. We've definitely had better Monte Cristo sandwiches. Now, the French toast... WOW. This was easily my favorite part of the meal. The bread had this delicious cinnamon-sugar coating on top that took it to another level. Add the soft, fluffy butter and maple syrup, and it was absolutely superb. That French toast alone would bring me back! I also appreciated the nice, cold ice water that was kept at our table throughout the meal. Service was super nice and pretty quick, especially considering how busy they were. I also loved how many options they give you to customize your meal. I could choose between different types of bacon, sausage, or turkey, and my cousin was able to customize her sandwich and ended up choosing cottage cheese to go with a healthier, higher-protein option. They also have sweet potato fries, regular fries, and plenty of other sides that you can substitute depending on what you're looking for. The ambiance was great, everything was clean and well maintained, and even the bathrooms were in good condition. Overall, this was a very good breakfast experience. Not everything was a home run for us, but the service, atmosphere, generous portions, customization options, and especially that French toast made it a place I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area. And after a hike? Even better!

I picked up my drink across where I ordered and then I picked up my food from a separate place when the device they gave me buzzed. What I ordered: * Chia seed pudding $7 - coconut chia seed pudding with coconut flakes, strawberry jam, and granola. Generously stuffed into a round container. Delicious. Inspires me to make chia seed pudding at home. * Hot earl grey creme tea $4 - I added honey. Perfect balance of citrus and black tea flavors. Came in a big paper cup, but had the option of having it in a tea pot and pouring it myself. Note they have a card surcharge of 2.9%. I was able to find a comfy seat with a round table. There were a lot of people but still enough seating and not too loud inside. The music was relaxing. Loved all the natural light and cozy, earthy vibes. For fellow matcha lovers, I saw a sign they use Mizuba matcha. It was already late afternoon and I had a matcha latte earlier so I chose not to get a matcha latte. If I'm around the area and come back soon though, I'd love to try their seasonal summer offering of the coconut matcha cloud. They also had a pastry case next to the register. The service was fantastic from start to finish. We had the chance to chat with Julian himself along with a couple other staff members, and everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The stars of the meal were definitely the breakfast wrap and the bacon, egg & cheese croissant. The breakfast wrap had the perfect balance of scrambled eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, avocado, and cheddar cheese. Everything worked together without any one ingredient overpowering the others, and the salsa on the side was a great addition. Honestly, it's one of the best breakfast burritos/wraps I've had. And the croissant... wow. It was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the croissant was light, flaky, and buttery, and every bite was packed with flavor. The Nutella crepe was also very good. The crepe itself was perfectly made, though there was a little more Nutella than I personally prefer. Next time I'll probably ask for less, but that's purely a matter of taste. The avocado toast was the only item that didn't quite hit the mark for me. It was good, but the honey flavor dominated the dish and drowned out some of the other ingredients. I'd love to taste a little more balance there. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality made for a great breakfast. We'll definitely be back, and I'll be dreaming about that croissant until then.

We also spoke with Bailey, was lovely and apparently took the fall on Julian's behalf. I'd also like to note we ordered a cake here last year and visit Julian's restaurant in Folsom about 2x a month so, as I said I'm extremely disappointed. We ordered a cake for my son's birthday. Wanted a jungle theme. I could've gotten past the ugly (and not what we ordered) decorations had the cake not been cracked in multiple places on the bottom tier. I called, let them know it was cracked and they had me talk to the owner, Julian, who went on to blame us, saying this happened during transport. (It didn't, the cake was frozen. You can also see the terrible job icing it at the top proving it was frozen, and that the cake didn't shift in transport as there was no icing or anything on the cake board.) He argued with me, he was exceptionally rude and tried to put the blame on me. Eventually, he agreed to refund me 50% for the cake. When we cut into it, not only was it frozen, (the same tier that was cracked) but it was also not even the correct filling or cake. I'm not sure what happened, but I called to demand a full refund as this cake was not what I ordered, and the arrogant, rude, owner Julian insulted me, saying I was trying to con a small business. Bailey, who was extremely professional and polite, called back to confirm that wasn't what we ordered and to offer us a full refund. Julian is rude, disrespectful and didn't provide what I ordered. When he was called out he insulted me, insulted my intelligence (by telling me the cake wasn't frozen--when it was, as well as tell me I tried to con a small business.) as people who were extremely loyal to his business, I'm disgusted and disappointed and will not be returning. I'd also encourage you to beware of spending your money here, because you may not get what you order, you may but it's a full risk you will have to take. I also refuse to support rude or mean people. Best of luck if you gamble and order here. I wouldn't have nearly been as mad, nor taken the time to write this review had he not been such a jerk. I'll let you make your own assumptions, based on the emails between us and the company, and what we received. Good luck if you choose to order from them!
