I recently went to Dad's BBQ in Antioch, CA and was thoroughly pleased. The establishment is beautifully decorated with family photos and history of the origins of Dad's BBQ. I enjoyed reading about this history as I waited for my order to be packed. I ordered ribs, chicken and links along with mac n cheese and potato salad. The ribs were meaty and tender, the chicken was juicy and tasty and the links were delicious!! I selected the medium sauce which had just the right fire. The mac n cheese was delicious as was the potato salad . I highly recommended Dad's BBQ if you are looking for good tasty BBQ....you won't be disappointed. read more

Great food .... The tri tip was so much.... My first time ordering there and it was good... I love the Mac cheese and green beans and it was worth everything read more

SO excited a found a nice BBQ spot in Pittsburg. Somewhere away from the busy streets of PIttsburg and further away from my job. Nice feel to downtown Pittsburg too. Tri-tip lunch plate - 5 stars. With a side of potatoe salad - 5 stars. Friendly service and nice home feeling of restaurant - 5 stars (environment and surroundings around the restaurant is a plus. Lots of dessert places around) Why -1 star for whole review? Because the BANANA PUDDING was out! Til next time Dad's! read more

Great BBQ. I have been a fan forever. Go try it. Dad is a great guy and his BBQ is some of the best I have eaten. I wish I could get there much more often read more

since my initial assessment of DAD's BBQ I have determined this... when you order something get the dinner. For a couple bucks more you get way more entree and another side. The lunch is not quite enough and the dinner is more than enough which is great because you can eat the rest later. I love this place and although the customer service varies depending on who is taking your order its a price I'm willing to pay every time. I just cant get enough of that sweet BBQ sauce and that tender Tri Tip meat. Mercy! read more

Customer service was 5 star. The food was just ok. The beans were excellent. The chicken was good. The tri tip was good. The ribs were mostly all fat hardly any meat not a great rib experience at all. Also I ordered two plates a combo 2 way which was made correct. The 2nd plate the 4 way wasn't correct the sides were correct I asked for mild link and double ribs and chicken. I ended up with tri tip. Chicken. ribs and HOT LINKS. Was disappointed in the 25$ 4 way plate but again the customer service was great. read more

Although Dad's is probably one of the better locations for bbq in this area (that I know of), I'm giving 2 stars for several reasons. 1) Customer service needs major improving; from the cashier to the Griller. I've been to Dad's a few times over the years and the griller is never friendly. 2) Too many up charges. 3) almost $3 for a can soda- just ridiculous. 4) I recently ordered a 2 meat combo. I ordered ribtips and chicken, the cashier rang me up for double tips. Upon receiving my food I notified the cashier that I asked for tips and chicken, she apologized and stated I could keep the extra tips and she would give me the chicken on the house. Well the griller gave her a hard time and came up front to see how the mix up occurred, he said he understood, he prepared a container of chopped up chicken breast. I was upset by this. My fiancé ordered a 3 way and one of his meats was also chicken. He received breast and a whole piece of chicken. I should have received what I asked for, similar to what my fiancé received as opposed to what appeared to be trimmings left over from chopped up chicken. 5) My fiance's wing was dry and lacked sauce. 6) Our order was $60, I asked for extra sauce and was charged .80 (Wow, how ridiculous). 7) I asked if the meat and sauce was gluten free, but never received a response. 8) There is no ingredient label on the bottle's of sauce placed out for sale- this in unacceptable as some customers have food allergies. 9) The sides should be bigger for the price. 10) Mac n cheese was dry. 11) They don't sale rib tip sandwiches or rib tip à la carte. 12) My fiance has always disliked their sauce and describes it as concentrated. 13) Dad's BBQ was located in Pittsburg, CA for many years before relocating to Brentwood and the residents of Pittsburg supported this establishment for Many years. My fiancé and I were taken aback to notice that Pittsburg was not mentioned on the portrait with the founding owners which also shared the history of the business. Pros: Greens, green beans-(needed more potatoes & meat), and baked beans are good! In my opinion, the Sauce is a bit runny, but satisfying. Nice R&B music playing in the inside, and the smoke from the grilling will definitely call your name. If you're willing spend some money, you'll get your fix. However, way too many up charges for our liking. read more

This is our second visit to the best BBQ in town and this time I tried the chicken. I get nervous about chicken at BBQ places but their sauce turns a simple smoked chicken quarter into amazingness! I have now tried their whole menu and my favs are ribs, chicken, Mac and cheese and the beans! Not forget to order cornbread! read more

Food is normally really good. However, the owner needs to be in the establishment to manage the young staff. Or an experience adult needs to supervisor in order to manage and keep order. The young staff lacks a lot of managerial experience and customer service to manage themselves. I've experienced Dad's in Pittsburg and this new location and the service and order operation was a lot better. If supervision and managerial order become present again at this location then I can see this location exceed past the Pittsburg's success. If not I don't see them lasting here long. read more

Tried this place tonight for the first time and let me tell you that this bbq is THE BOMB!!!! This is real bbq and reminds me of the south. Customer service is great and the people who own this restaurant are so nice. If you're looking for amazing bbq this is the place to come. read more

AMAZING FOOD! The Tri-tip is sooo good. Mac and cheese, baked beans, and cornbread too! I haven't had one thing that I did not like. They are a bit pricey but definitely worth it. The employees are also all so friendly and welcoming! Most definitely is my go to bbq food place! read more

Excellent bar b que. peach cobbler is scrumptious!!! Great customer service... I'm so glad I found this place

I've been coming to this fine establishment for sometime now. I usually order the Rib Dinner, which is absolutely delicious. Today I decided to try something different so I ordered their Fried Chicken & Fries and man was it slammin'. The chicken was cooked just right and the serving was very generous. The fries were average but that's alright, no big deal. The chicken was very good and that's all that mattered to me. I also ordered a small side of potato salad which is also one of my favorites here. At the end, I was very satisfied with the order and will be adding this item as a "go to" on my list. read more

This place was SO good! We tried it for the 1st time and we were very happy we did. Great food, very quick and prices were reasonable. We will be back! read more

Picked up my order after calling it in. I was happy that my order was ready and the food was hot! The wings were seasoned well, but I'm not sure how they count the chicken wings. The order was supposed to come with 6 chicken wings. I received a total of three full chicken wings because they cut the drummette off of the wing and sell the drummette as a separate piece of chicken. Get what I'm saying? The whole chicken wing includes the wing itself and the drummette. So they only gave me 3 full wings and then cut the drummette off and made 6 pieces of chicken out of three. I've also had the brisket here. Again very flavorful, but I think I probably got only 2-3 slices of brisket, which they then took and chopped up which makes it seem like I got more than I really received. The sauce is good and the meat is good, but for the price...they should serve more food. Yes, I would go back because the food is good but they should stop cutting corners with serving size. read more

The food here is magnificent! Delicioso! I lick the plate clean! No lie! the ribs and tri tip is just ughhhhh to die for. I legit die and come back to life after each bite. The sauce is so savory. Their sweet beans are fire! And the Mac and cheese though? Let me NOT forget to mention the MAC N CHEESE! The flavors are phenomenal. Have your ever watched the movie Ratatouille? With the chef mouse? Ok remember the part where he tastes his food and he feels fire works popping? That's how it feels when you take a bite of their Mac n cheese! I always order me a large side of it and my taste buds thanks for it. Anyways, this place is incredible! Highly recommend. I'll take this over a seafood boil any day lol. read more

I order here very often, my family has always enjoyed their food! The staff has always been friendly and I appreciate the great customer service provided tonight! Kudos to the best BBQ soul food spot in the area! read more

Went back, workers were friendly this time. Delicious ribs and hot links. Potato salad, baked beans. Mmm. They have mild, medium, and hot BBQ sauce. The "hot" is actually quite spicy. Yum. I'm starting to think this is my favorite barbecue joint, period. read more

I ordered the 3-meat plate: chicken, tri-tip, and rib tips. Beans and macaroni salad were my sides. We ordered a side of macaroni and cheese to share. I had banana pudding for dessert. All the BBQ meat was good. My husband ordered ribs and his looked better than my rib tips because it had more meat on it. The beans, macaroni salad, and my husband's potato salad were okay. The macaroni and cheese was awful. Undercooked macaroni and it was as if slices of cheese were just melted into it. I could barely taste the cheese. It was not a creamy cheese sauce like mac & cheese is supposed to be. I threw it away after two bites. Waste of $5. The banana pudding was okay. It didn't taste homemade. If we order from here again, we'll just get the meat and I will make my own sides. read more

Dad's BBQ - Terrible macaroni and cheese. - Barbeque Near Me - Antioch, California

One of my orders was missing barbecue sauce, and they both had cold food and I mean really cold wings. Also, the tri-tip was all fat and skin they just threw in my plate. I called and spoke with the manager when I got home but she only offered for me to come back and get some hot links and the barbecue sauce they missed. I drove 15 minutes there and then 15 minutes back. There's no way I'm coming back for some cold hot links and barbecue sauce. She told me I should've checked my order before I left but I thought that was their job to make sure the order was correct. This place is pricey and believe me you're not going to get what you pay for. It seems like they were just in a rush to leave last night and could care less about providing quality food or service. read more

Today Labor Day and was surprised this was open. I had the small BBQ ribs with potato salad.... wow, was it good! And they are not stingy! The ribs were better than I thought! The meat was tender and so tasty. The sauce was good that you can almost drink it. I will be going back to try something new and the beans. Wish I could have eaten more. The best part was the staff. They were so friendly and so helpful. They all had a good attitude and made you feel so welcomed. Thanks Dad's BBQ! read more

I ordered a catering for 15.. food was ready on time , no waiting at pick up , still hot & very good !! I will come back very soon !!

Spent roughly 100.00 tonight on three meals and the food was horrible. Watery bbq sauce , the meat was ok , potato salad was beyond chunky and nasty, greens were watery and taste muddy, mac n cheese was alright, and what made me really disappointed was the banana pudding. I really try to support all black businesses but this place is a NO for me. Extra charge for every thing on the menu. read more

Meats are great! Side dish prices are incredibly high. $17 for a macaroni, beans $13, cornbread muffins are half full and way over priced as well. read more

I was not impressed by this place. First, the staff were not friendly and doesn't say hi or thank you. The hot links were drowned in bbq sauce and were tough and chewy. The ribs were fatty and had little flavor. The mac and cheese was literally just bagged smart and final cheddar cheese and noodles. $50 for two plates. No thanks . read more

The meat just okay definitely not what I expected for tri tip. It was more like chipped beef. The sauce had a good taste. The beans were good. The $2 corn bread was dry and had no flavor. I feel like the cost did not match the meal. read more

Ordered the tri tip meal with mac n cheese and potato salad. Would say if you don't want lots of sauce on your meat, definitely tell them light on the sauce but the food was delicious! I ordered a chicken entree dark meat hot sauce, baked beans and potato salad with banana pudding. When I got home I was very disappointed my order was 90% white meat which I don't care for. Hi, my name is Cecelia. I found Dad's on zyelp and noticed that they did Door dash and their own delivery. I am so happy to have bonified Barbecue joints around. One thing I can honestly say " They give you plenty.od meat and their sauce is great. I ordered the first time a 3 way with hot links, tri tip,rib tips. Its very delicious and the portions.are really . too much to eat Actually equalled 2 lg portions. 3nd time i had a 2 way combo. Baked beans and greens and potato salad rounded out meal. I really wanted to support this local business. However, this place is the worst bbq place I've been to. The portions are way too small. The quality is worse than grocery store bbq, but twice the price. Pittsburg deserves a better place than this one. read more

I drive from Stockton for this BBQ. Came across it by accident a while back, and let me tell you, in my opinion, it's a hidden gem

Very good BBQ, hands down the BEST! Staff is very friendly and attentive, however they need to hire more people, customers had to walk out because they weren't served, the food IS worth the wait! I have been here when it was "C n C's" back in the day 20 years ago, and it has IMPROVED! Best BBQ I've ever had. Only downfall is staff waiting and my wife ordered NO BBQ SAUCE and wanted it on side and it came with full bbq.... Other than that, I would give a darn 5 star!!!! Food in PERFECT, just the wait and restaurant dining space needs to improve See y'all again in Spring! read more

We stopped by the this BBQ spot on a fluke. It wasn't very busy which kind of worries me but hey I'm all for supporting Black Businesses. Customer service felt rushed and he wasn't very friendly. My friend got a 3 way and I got a tri tip dinner with a peach cobbler and banana pudding. Proportions are so skimpy and pre chopped which I do not like. Sauce was good and the meat was cooked well but I couldn't get over the small portion. Potato salad wasn't great very bland and very small portion. Banana pudding was literally Jello pudding with one wafer for $4 smh. The flavor of the sauce and meat has a lot of potential but the I can't see myself coming back and spending $50 again (luckily my date paid). Pros: meat cooked perfectly, good mild sauce Cons: too expensive for the small amount of food, sides aren't that good, chopped meat, desserts should be priced at $1.50 read more

I smelled the BBQ smoke wafting in the air while shopping and decided to stop in. I ordered ribs, chicken, potato salad, mac n cheese. Super delicious! Everything tasted homemade and truly authentic. The bbq sauce was awesome and the ribs were so tender. It's my new favorite 'go to' for ribs. Next time I'll try the warm corn bread and sweet potato pie. I can't believe I just wrote that...finally there is some good BBQ near me! And DoorDash delivers! read more
