I've been Dad's BBQ fan for years. Just got my order. Rib Tips dry hard to eat! My favorite greens beans had absolutely no flavor. Like they forgot to season them! Potatoe Salad was mush! Like they over cooked the potatoes! So DISAPPOINTING! HOPING they just are having an off day. I will give them one more chance or they've lost a customer. read more

BBQ is good. Service not good. Ordered corn muffins with our entree online ($4 each) and when we returned home found they were hockey pucks (and small). Went back the following day to get a refund and was told I had to get it through DoorDash which "is so easy". After spending 15 minutes to make the request via DoorDash, no love either as they make it impossible to get service as well. Just attitude and no service which I don't need... read more

Good bbq sauce but every time i get a plate its not hot (temperature wise). Room temperature bbq is ehh. Wish they gave out hot plates!!

This restaurant deserves more than a 3.5 point rating, are you kidding me!! I just left and once home was amazed at the healthy portions of sides as well as a sizable entree choice. The staff was very attentive and made sure the order was right. My chicken entree was tender, moist and absolutely DELICIOUS!! Next time there, I'll buy some of that kicking sauce! My rating is a 5 star, no doubt! read more

I inadvertently gave the Antioch Dad's bbq a three star on my recent doordash order because I thought Tri-tips were boneless and I think I misunderstood that. I ordered the combo with chicken and tri-tips and cornbread. The cornbread was spongy and overcooked. BUT, the rest of the food itself was wonderful, sauce was just enough, just enough twang on the medium taste, chicken was cooked perfectly and the rib meat itself was excellent. First time ordering from Dad's and although there were some minor hiccups I would definitely order from them again as they have the best barbecue I have eaten in this area. read more

Great customer service on the phone. I would come back. Awesome bbq. Glad to have a place out here.

OMG! Finger licking and lip smacking good. 5 stars from the ordering over the phone to the fingers in the mouth. Forget the hand wipes. I didn't want to waste one drip if that sauce. I had a bridal shower catered and there was so much left over even after everyone took plates and Tupperware home. Thats because they were very generous with the portions. My favorites were the ribs and links. But its a close call because the mac and cheese and potato salad were both better than I've ever made them and I'm pretty damn good. If I weren't on a diet I would be a regular. But for sure I would have them cater more events. I am so grateful they were able to accommodate my large order in a pinch. I only gave them less them a weeks notice. There were no snags or hiccups. Everyone was so friendly and professional and they were working near those hot stoves in 100 degree weather. Thanks so much for such an amazing and satisfying customer experience. Keep up the phenomenal work. Oh and I forgot to mention the green beans- to live for! No pics because it's all gone. read more

The food was great everything had great flavor will be back.Verry nice owners. The best thing they where open on memorial day

Everything was drenched in sauce killing any flavor you would get from the meat. Spent almost $30 for a 2 meat plate. Over priced and underwhelming. Just go to kinders. read more

Yesterday, my husband and I visited this restaurant for lunch and ordered two two-ways. Unfortunately, after eating, we both experienced severe nausea, gas, and diarrhea. When I reached out to the owner to request a refund, she reacted angrily. I ultimately had to go to the emergency room, and the owner suggested that the hospital contact her, which I believe violates my rights. As a customer, I expect to be treated fairly, and it's concerning that the owner claimed I was the only person in 24 years to complain about food safety. I also observed raw chicken on the grill alongside cooked chicken, which raises serious hygiene concerns. The tri-tip was tough and not fresh, despite the restaurant just opening for the day, and the ribs were also old. The owner's attitude throughout this experience was unacceptable, and this situation needs to be addressed. Also the owner just had my review removed because it's the truth. read more

I'm so sad we don't live out here!!! But when we go out this way we always here! Let me tell you this the best fuckin bbq ever, excuse my language but damn!!! We have turned into regulars. This place is amazing! The tri-tip is the best I've ever had. I'm not usually a fan of sauce on the meat but this place makes their own bbq sauce and it's sooooo good. We even bought 2 bottles to take home. The Mac & cheese is REALLY good. I also got the chicken and greens to go with my combo plate, Delicious. The woman who helped us was really friendly. When we have to go back out to Antioch, this will definitely be our lunch destination. read more

I like to support local company in my area and love good bbq ... so I tryed this place out and was very unhappy with the food and service

I ordered $12 entree with extra side and the cost was $19+. The food is okay but the prices are to high for what is being offered. The sides should not be extra. The corn muffin should be included with the meal because it is so small. I probably won't go back. read more

I ordered a takeout, and I got home to realize items I paid extra for was not in the box. Not worth the effort to drive back.

would recommend you to try, you won't be disappointed! Great customer service and awesome food!

The macaroni was dry. The potato salad was flavorless. Rib tips were burnt and smothered in sauce to try to cover it up. But what blew me away was the "banana" pudding. WTF is this? Banana flavored custard with soggy wafers on top. I am so disappointed. Never again. read more

Good food and friendly staff. This is for sure a repeat place to dine at. Recommended for sure.

The food is incredible but our order was completely wrong. We ordered a 3-way with chicken rib tips($3.00 more) and links. Out order was tri tip and ribs. The sides were correct. Family and I have been coming here for years (Pittsburg). One of the best BBQ spots in the Bay, if you ask me. Chicken and Tri -Tip very tender and juicy with a nice smoky flavor . When you request sauce on meat, they are generous with it --and mild sauce is in fact mild and hot is super spicy. If you don't like generous servings of sauce--ask for it on the side ---the meat is still delicious without sauce. Wait time is good. Not crazy for the banana pudding or Mac n cheese -so that is the only reason I gave it 4 stars! But other than that we love this spot! read more

Dad's decor is mostly red. quite a bit of seating. one person working the register and the floor. eats: lunch special (6.5)choice of meat, salad, drink -choose tri-tip, no beef brisket made here lots of meat, on the dry side, no flavor, all flavor came from the med. bbq sauce -potato salad flavorless when cold. almost ok at room temperature #great value- 4 stars foodnotes: -very friendly service, almost forgot my soda. overextended? read more

I have been coming to this location for YEARS! it just gets better and better. I remember when it was C&C's BBQ and the food is so good it makes you wanna slap yo momma! haha ok bad joke. Anyway meats are always juicy, and they never over do the sauce. The fried chicken is simple and always comes out piping hot and juicy. The catfish!!!!! OMG the cat fish!!! I want some write now.. after I finish this review I'm gonna head over there! their new VALUE menu is brilliant too! I would usually go at least twice a month as a treat to myself since they are a bit pricey... but now with this value menu I'm going twice a week!!!! OH YEAH!!!! read more

S and I went to a BBQ cook-off and although the event promised tasty BBQ there was none to be had. So, to satisfy the craving for "Q" we stopped at Dads. S had the brisket with beans, and potato salad, He was impressed meat was so tender, I had a taste and he was right. He thought it could have used more seasoning; I'm not sure about that, the meat was good. The medium sauce was rather on the mild side. We both agreed that the best part of the meal was the potato salad. This restaurant was included in a recent Contra Costa Times review of BBQ restaurants. I do hope that the review encourages people to give this spot a try, it is small and clean. They do have tables and it would be nice for lunch which I had the last time I was here. Don't expect alcoholic or fancy bread, you just don't get it at this type of restaurant I don't see it as a place to have dinner; it seems more like a take-out spot. That's not a bad thing at all; very few of my favorite BBQ places even had tables While we were waiting for our take-out order we chatted with two fellows who were waiting for theirs. We all bemoaned the loss of so many of our favorite BBQ Pits and we all wondered why these small black owned mom and pop places serving good food cannot survive. Perhaps this one will I think. Pittsburg is redeveloping their downtown area and it includes a nice mix of small business and hopefully the community will support them. read more

I had a major craving for ribs for the past few weeks...the kind of craving that made me dream about amazing ribs for a few nights, the kind of craving that made anything I ate that was not ribs taste sad, the kind of craving that was truly all-consuming and made people wonder if I were pregnant. Dad's BBQ has been on my radar for quite some time now, and since I needed to have ribs ASAP, I figured that it was a time as good as any to finally check them out. The place is decidedly not hole-in-the-wall as some reviewers seem to think. It is on the small side, granted, but it is clean and well-organized. The staff gave us immediate service and was quite friendly. I cannot comment further on service, however, as I chose to order to go. We ordered a half slab of ribs with medium spicy sauce. And for our sides, we ordered corn muffins, green beans, and potato salad. Our order totaled $40, including tax and tip (we did not order from their lunch specials). I should note that if you are looking for pulled pork, they do not offer it here, which was slightly disappointing. Upon opening the styrofoam container, we were greeted by ribs swimming in barbecue sauce. The sauce was quite delicious, but the ribs were just alright to me. I am left a little suspicious if they saw the inside of a smoker as they seemed more like baked ribs to me, which is not necessarily a bad thing but is not what I am looking for from a barbecue place. The texture was fine, not too tender but not tough, but my cousin said that some parts of his ribs seemed undercooked. The potato salad was quite tasty but a little too mushy for my liking, the green beans were delicious, but the corn muffins were disappointing. I am not sure if I would go back to Dad's unless they sell that medium spicy barbecue sauce. But I thank them for inspiring me to go on a mission to learn how to smoke my own perfect ribs. read more

First visit charged me .75 for extra sauce after I bought a 25.00 meal for one, meal was under whelming. Thought I would try again. Four people working at 8pm went to order food they told me as two others waited for their food that they were closed. Signage says 8:30 she told me they were short staffed. There were four employees one who was holding herself up with the mop. Done. The food is over priced and mediocre. No more chances for mediocre don't waste your money or energy read more

I ordered a 3-way through doordash, and the order as arrived was 100% correct. Yay Tri tip, rib tips, and ribs. Plus mac & cheese, and potato salad. There was an ok amount of sauce, no extra though. The plate was *heavy*. OMG heavy, so you get a lotta grub. The tri tip and rib tips were fantastic, as was the mac & cheese. The mac seemed made in house. The potato salad was really really light on the mayo/dressing, and basically nothing else, just very finely chopped potato and a light coating to stick together. Reminded me more of "riced" cauliflour. I wouldn't get the potato salad again. Ribs weren't soft/fall of the bone style, but that's more preference. They were fine, nothing special, but I don't like to hear all the "zzzzzzt" from my teeth cutting through the rib meat. I'd order from Dad's BBQ again, but where the heck's the brisket?! Tri tip and ribs only is kinda limited. read more
