I've been a loyal customer at JJ Fish and Chicken, typically ordering from them at least once a week. Unfortunately, my experience last night was a major disappointment. I usually order the fried fish, fries, and hush puppies, but the quality was far below their usual standard. The fish batter wasn't attached to the fillets, and the coating was completely soggy rather than crispy. To make matters worse, the hush puppies arrived looking burnt and flavorless, which suggests they were likely fried in old oil. The fried chicken, my son loved and the french fries were nice and crispy with special seasoning on them. They also have a lemonade with several different flavors you can add to it was a nice touch. We love this place. We always get the fried catfish and fries. The catfish is always fresh and crispy. If it is too crispy, you can ask them to fry it softer (which older people enjoy).
