Happy new year 2026! This is my first review for the new year ( take out order ) let's get into it . Living out in the 925 area has been a challenge for this east Oakland foodie ! It's so diverse and can barely ever miss back home but out here it's hard . With that being said I was craving some good ol fried catfish . I looked them up on Yelp and seen they have my favorite which is fried scallops so I said let's give them a try . This is a seafood market that sells fried food . Called my order in ahead of time. The person who took my order was polite and helpful . I got wing and catfish combo and wanted prawn and scallop combo . Unfortunately they were out of prawns by 4 in the afternoon . So I got catfish and scallops instead . Overall it was good . The catfish was fresh and melted like butter in my mouth . Chicken was nice sized chicken . The scallops were big not the little ones and cooked perfectly not chewy at all . The breading was fried right, not too thick or over seasoned . Fries could have been cooked a little harder but besides that my fish craving was fulfilled. I would try them out again . read more

Located in the back of a small grocery store. In a plaza with a Walmart and a few other stores. A lot of parking. No AC. Crab cakes had a good crisp and good flavor. They were also a good size for the price. 8/10 Fried cat fish was ok and would not get again. Still unsure if it was actually cat fish because it didn't really taste like it. Also unsure if these were frozen or freshly battered. Not too much flavor. 1/10 Fried Mac n cheese was probably the best thing. Crispy, cheesy and not too salty. 10/10 Potato salad had too much mayo for my liking and was too sweet. 1/10 Peach cobbler wasn't too sweet but overall really bland. The filling/crust had almost no taste and had a weird texture. 1/10 Banana pudding was too sweet but had good banana flavor. Pudding was a nice/smooth texture - 4/10 Fried meals had ok fries but were big portions. Overall i wouldn't come back which is unfortunate because the worker, Ali, was really kind and is the reason im giving 2 stars. read more

This is red snapper, greens on the side definitely worth trying again. The fish was fried perfectly. Even the fries were nice and crunchy. Nothing soggy. The chicken was nicely seasoned & nice pieces. but this place is awesome. I definitely recommend it. I've been here a few times. I'm glad they got a new person. The other guy was a trip. This was my second time there. It pretty much mirrored the first time. The fish and chicken were just ok. Both suffered from a serious lack of seasoning, The fries were some of the worst ever. Very rubbery as if they were old. It would be nice if instead of automatically including fries, they would allow one to select what they would like as sides. Everything was seasoned well but I did specify in the notes and called to ask for Catish in my combo order since you can't choose online. When I received my order they sent me Basa. Everything was fresh. They used fresh gloves washed hands. Price is super reasonable. The food is so good. Not greasy. U can tell it's fresh. The store is also a meat market. They have everything ox tails frog legs. Crab steaks etc.... They have all the Louisiana seasonings and Mexican seasons too!! read more

This little joint was straight !!!!! First time here, tried the combo plate with catfish fillers, shrimp and wings. Also tried catfish nuggets. All were cooked well and seasoned properly and the amount of food was very generous. Definitely going back for more. I highly recommend this place. You won't regret it. read more

First of all can't really beat the prices were fair! I got the combo 1 and 3 and they food was pretty rock just that my chicken wings were still bloody. Walking into the store they are not very welcoming especially the guy in the back taking the orders. He couldn't understand what I was saying and also forgot to give me my coleslaw with my meals! I had ordered food through doordash from here and they messed up my entire order. I order the 10 piece chickens wings and was only given 5, then they replaced all of my sides except for the mac and cheese with potato salad. The potato salad was disgusting and dry. Fish taste like JJ's which is good and it's a little cheaper in price range the man at the counter move very slow he cannot multitask he said my fish will be ready in 15 minutes I stood there the whole 15 minutes 15 minutes turn to another 25 minutes I don't know how hard it is it though fish and grease and pull it out I would hate to see if it was the beginning of the month and people coming in and this one guy is working back there who doesn't speak very good English this business will not make it it will definitely fail even the man that works the meat counter says the guy is very slow read more
