Stopped by Rocki's Chicken for lunch and had a good experience. The menu has plenty of variety, and I love that the meals come with fries and refillable drinks. We appreciate a restaurant that understands the importance of unlimited beverages! The customer service was friendly, there were plenty of tables available, and the food came out hot and fresh. I liked the decor too. But I was a little confused by the upside down glass in the middle of the table. LoL I went full basic B and ordered plain chicken strips with no sauce, so I can't speak on all the flavor options just yet--but the chicken was still good. Next time, I'll try to be brave and actually order one of the sauces. If I'm back in the area, I'd definitely stop by again! TLDR.... It's worth it. read more

Rocki's Chicken is a new spot in downtown Oakley and I was genuinely excited to try it. I'm always happy to see a new small business open up locally, so I really wanted to like this place. I ended up pretty torn between 2 and 3 stars, but since they're brand new and I got my order to go, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now. I tried the crispy chicken sandwich, loaded fries, and 6-piece bone-in wings. The crispy chicken sandwich was unfortunately the biggest letdown. The chicken was very dry, the toppings were cut unevenly, and it was packed in the same box as the loaded fries which made the bun soggy by the time I got home. It completely fell apart while eating it. I only had about a 7 minute drive, so it was disappointing how quickly it lost all structure. It also was not an actual chicken filet, just two chicken tenders on a bun, which made it even harder to eat since the tenders kept sliding out. You end up fighting the sandwich the whole time. I'd skip this one. The loaded fries were also not great. Since I ordered online through DoorDash, the sandwich combo didn't let me choose the fry type, so it came with the standard fries by default. They were soggy, bland, and honestly tasted like frozen fries. The chopped chicken on top was also very dry, which didn't help. The 6-piece bone-in wings were probably the best part of the meal. I got lemon pepper and the flavor itself was actually pretty solid. The wings were juicy, which was a nice surprise after how dry everything else was. My only complaint was that they were much greasier than expected. It seemed like they were tossed in some kind of buttery sauce instead of a more traditional dry lemon pepper seasoning, so they lost that crispy texture I usually want from lemon pepper wings. Still, the flavor was good. Minor personal complaint, but out of 6 wings I only got 1 flat, which was a little disappointing since I'm definitely a flats person. Overall, I really wanted this to be better. Maybe I just picked the wrong items, and maybe a different wing flavor or the boneless would be a better move. Since they're so new, I'm hoping they just need a little time to fine tune things and get more consistent. I'd be open to giving them another shot down the line, but after this first visit I'd definitely be a little more selective with what I order next time. read more

Service was great and fast. Food was pretty good. Only thing I would change when you get the loaded fries is to ask for the sauce on the side or possibly light sauce. There was way too much hot sauce to fully enjoy it. The shoe string fries are the way to go for the loaded fries best fries for it in my opinion. The jalapeño ranch is really great if you're looking for a sauce for your wings to dip in or your fries. read more

I hate when money goes to waste. Unfortunately the loaded fries were not good. The chicken had absolutely no flavor at all. Even the buffalo sauce on it didn't taste like anything. Ordered the "crispy" chicken sandwich, "seasoned" fries, and a waffle. The waffle pictured on the menu looked great with the butter on top. Unfortunately, everything I got was dry and so bland. The chicken wasn't crispy and still had something flabby inside, the fries had no seasoning, and the waffle was cold and boring. The butter they give you is the type you get on an airplane. Was excited to see a new place in downtown Oakley, but unfortunately the best part of the plate was the ranch. I had been waiting to come to this location since before they opened up because I worked around the corner but unfortunately it didn't go at all as how I expected. The place in general was clean and empty. I followed their instagram for updated and I felt completely catfished by the pictures. I ordered the chicken sandwich meal with buffalo sauce and I was under the impression that the bun was going to be good quality and the chicken was going to be completely crispy and just overall more appetizing. The sandwich completely failed me. The bun started tearing apart so quickly like just cheap quality buns. The "crispy" chicken had no flavoring it just tasted like chicken meat and the coating for the crisp. They added thick pieces of purple union to it and it was just not appetizing. My boyfriend also ordered the loaded chicken fries with buffalo and it was just as flavorless. The buffalo sauce was very potent and it was just ruining both of our meals. I have been here about 4 times since they opened. I got the sweet chili bone in wings with shoe string fries. All times they've never missed. Always hits the spot! I also like how every time you order take out before they hand over the meal they open and show you every single meal to ensure the order is correct. My family and I have been here a couple of times. We went again on Sunday, 5/17, and ordered our food to go. Everything we got was delicious. I had the lemon pepper chicken sandwich, and the chicken was juicy and very flavorful. My 12-year-old son loves their chicken tenders because they are big and juicy. My daughter got the loaded fries, and my son-in-law and husband also got the tenders. We were all very pleased with our food. Their customer service is excellent. I ordered delivery from here. I am glad new food options are opening in Oakley that isn't another Mexican Food Restaurant, don't get me wrong, I enjoy Mexican food but Oakley has way too many Mexican food restaurants to choose from. From Rocki's I had some tenders tossed in garlic Parmesan and Lemon Pepper sauce, and I had a chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce. What I had was what I would consider OK, but not as good as Angry Chicks or Dave's Hot Chicken in Brentwood. Without the sauces on the chicken tenders, the tenders would be somewhat bland. I'm no expert, but I feel a good tender should be able to stand on its own without sauces, an improvement in the tender coating could be in order. My sandwich also came with garlic fries, my only complaint here is that the garlic fries did not appear to be tossed, and rather maybe the garlic was poured on top of the fries so some of the fries where uncovered in garlic. I think tossing the fries some more in the garlic would have helped. I will update this review after trying the chicken wings some time in the future. read more
