We had the brisket, ribs, hot links (not pictured), catfish, and shrimp for mains. For sides we had the slaw, mac & cheese, fried okra, green beans, and hush puppies (also left those out). We grabbed some desserts to go, but they were delicious as well. Green beans still had a snap to them, so they did a quick simmer and weren't completely sogged out. I would have preferred a touch more salt, but they were great when you snagged a bit of bacon in the bite! Okra was good, a bit over cooked, but I would order again tomorrow. Cole slaw was great! It had bits of apple that added a touch of sweetness in a well balanced, creamy sauce. Mac and cheese was perfect! Tried my kid's hushpuppies and they were amazing dipped in the bbq garnish on the plate! Brisket was hands down the best brisket I've ever had, falling apart and absolutely mouth watering. The ribs were tender while still having bite to them. Again, well balanced and sauce was lite enough that it complimented the meat. Shrimp and catfish breading was the perfect blend of crispy and crumbly, while being perfectly spiced! We can't wait to go back and visit again, felt like we made friends and definitely found a new BBQ mainstay! Well let me give you the honest opinion of each item on my plate. Cornbread was moist and warm. Baked Beans for once was sweet and smoky. Most restaurants serve them as a clumpy mess, but these were sweet and smoky with a smooth sauce that it was mixed in. Molasses or brown sugar either one it was really good another 5 out of 5. (I could just eat the cornbread and baked beans by themselves). Macaroni and Cheese for once it was good not great but good. It wasn't overly cheesy nor was it salty and buttery. It was a nice compliment to the meal. Now the rib tips were sauced and smoked. The sauce did not overtake the smoky meat. It is a compliment to the meat. It was soft, tear off the bone type of ribs and I had a side of hot bbq sauce and it was tangy, smoky and hot. Now I did not get the greens, potato salad or any deserts or drinks so those will be a later visit. Overall well done and the customer service was exceptional. Respectful and decent and helpful. Keep up the exceptional valor that you have earned. You don't last 25 years by luck but by giving the customer what they want. Great food and exceptional service.

It's the priced the same as the $14 "half" chicken, so by far the half chicken is the better value. The chicken itself was moist. It's the traditional Chinese yellow chicken, so there was not a lot of meat on it. Love ginger scallion sauce and I asked for extra, which I got. The shredded, boiled cabbage on the side was a nice thought to round out the meal. Too bad I don't like cooked cabbage... The rice in the rice plate was plain white rice and didn't seem all that fresh as parts of it were hard and clumpy. I wish there was chicken rice that went with the Hainan chicken, but I guess the rice plate here is just that...basic white rice that goes with any protein.

You really get the sense that they stand firmly by their standards and have no qualms whatsoever about making things right. The parking spots near this restaurant are usually half empty and there's typically at least one suspicious car sitting there with some odd-looking activity going on. Not the fault of "Tokyo Ramen & BBQ". I walked in, even though from the outside it looked closed. A woman followed me in (she seemed possibly homeless. Not judging, just painting a picture). When I walked in, none of the tables had ANYTHING on them. And it looked kind of like they were out of business. I saw no employees. I waited. Then, I saw a man appear from behind the counter (he had been bent over doing something and I didn't see him at first). I wanted to try the food, because the reviews seemed pretty good, but I was sensing that I might regret it if I got locked in to this situation... The lady asked, "Are you open?" And the man said, "Yes". I walked straight out and went to a different ramen place for lunch. So, I can't speak to the food quality. But the ambiance was dismal.
