Just landed and spotted this place--the vibe is great so far! This raspberry wine is very tasty.

Andrea R.

The Bolognese Carbonara was WOW -- so creamy and delicious! The Hen Soup was good too, just a little mild for my taste, but perfect if you want something simple and comforting. The music and atmosphere were such a vibe! We came Thursday around 8:30 and it was pretty slow, which we actually enjoyed. There was only one server, but he was super sweet, attentive, and took his time answering all our questions. Definitely adding this place to my rotation!

I came back here for date night. As always we were greeted and promptly seated. We also realized the owner was the person who brought us to the table. Pretty cool. Nice guy as well. Our server was wonderful as always and he gave good conversation and recommendations to us for drinks and food. I had to get the steak Diane again. Im in love with it. So savory and delicious. My fiancee got the gojuchang pasta which was very flavorful. I must warn you if you srent used to al dente pasta, then it can throw you off. The noodles are right at the al dente spot but no problem for us. Again, super flavorful, savory slighty, spicy but not hot like youll have to drink water a ton. We also ordered the corn pancake. That was phenomenal. Its a bit sweet from the corn and the honey on it but made us keep eating. Ordered two new drinks this time. In the mood for love and Night Sky. I typically am not a rye fan, but I love that drink. Great balance of sweetness and alcohol. The Nigh sky was good too. Both have a very pretty presentation, but who wouldnt love a glittery masterpiece like the night sky coming to their table. I continue to be impressed. Keep up the great work chef.

Came here on a Sunday and wow this will be added as a staple spot for us. The steak pasta, the seafood pancake, the shrimp, the salad. Everything was seriously so flavorful. The service was amazing as well and the restaurant was very chill which added to our perfect Sunday meal. Can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu!!! If you're thinking about going, do it!

Service was nice and friendly. Server took the time to answer all our questions. Date nights and family dining. There are fusion items on the menu but for the items we ordered we either had Italian or Korean. Sweet potato fries - nice and crispy unfortunately there were some bits that were not cooked all the way. Gochu Potato Pancake - tasty but not crispy enough, sauce was also tasty. Spicy Seafood Arabiata Pasta- sauce was nice just a little kick, seafood was cooked nicely and pasta was nice. Galbi-Tang - soup base was very nice. The veggies were cooked nicely. The rib pieces were nice the meat was tender unfortunately, there were gristly parts that were hard to chew and just not easy to eat. Parking - shared parking lot

Pastas here we're yummy! I was able to try the Diane steak, gochujang pasta, rose rigatoni, and the bulgogi carbonara and I think the carbonara has the best flavor. I think they all tasted good in terms of flavor, but the carbonara was the most flavorful to me. The rigatoni was too al dente for me, but the gochujang pasta was cooked perfectly imo. Not sure why they were different tho. The steak pasta was good, but the steak itself tasted weird to me. Maybe it was the fusion part of it, but I was not a fan. I loved the fries, they had the most Perfect crisp.

Pork Cutlet, Steak Dianne Pasta, Spicy Pork Jowl Rice Cake, Bulgolgi

Jacob D.

Visited with the family on a soggy Sunday afternoon to try this local Korean and Korean-Fusion hot spot that we have desperately been needing to go to. Even in the main dining area you are treated to a cozy and intimate setting that feels proper without feeling off putting. There are private dining areas available as well and I'd love to come back with a good size group to take advantage of that some time. There's no high chairs available, so not quite friendly for little ones, but kids are certainly welcome. Our service was handled appropriately, as we had our water glasses filled at all times. When I asked our waiter to run through our order as first time visitors, he eagerly helped us to refine what would suit our group best. We wanted to get items that felt Classicly Korean and we left feeling like everything we ordered was a hit. The food really is spectacular here, most of the menu is traditional Korean fare, but there's a fun section of fusion pasta dishes that definitely seem to be a hit. The steak Dianne, as other have mentioned, was quite lovely. Extra rich sauce with nicely sliced piece of ribeye on top, it's something nice for those who may not be familiar with the flavor profile of the other dishes to dip their toes into the pool with. The kimchi pancake was able to hold up being held with chopsticks, and that's really all you can ask for, it also tasted good. Bulgolgi was marinated well and tender, another fan favorite that they executed well. The pork cutlet was excellent as a textural piece of the meal, the breading was just so crisp and stayed that way even as we picked over other things at the table. My favorite is easily the Spicy Pork Jowl Rice Cake. The just spicy enough heat level here, just creates that craveability that keeps you coming back for the next bite. Textures were immaculate here as well, lightly fried rice cake gave that light crispness on the exterior and chewiness on the interior. My main reason for loving my experience here is that my wife, who can tend be a bit closed of to new cuisines, loved everything we ate here. That's a big W for this household, and worth a 5 star from me!

Kimchi Arincini, Bulgogi Carbonara, Steak Diane

Victoria D.

First time trying DA O'N and we were impressed! The pasta dishes were unique in flavor and super yummy. Our kimchi arancini was AMAZING! Would get that again! Can't wait to come back and try the other dishes, we'll be bringing friends next time. The ambiance is also great in here, they were playing chill music and the staff was attentive.

This place offers an interesting and unique take on Korean food. It is definitely not your typical Korean dining experience. I saw this place go viral online and was excited to give it a try. The standout dishes for our table were the Spicy Rigatoni and Pork Galbi. Both were incredibly flavorful and well executed. The galbi in particular was tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious. The dishes that did not stand out as much to me were the Steak Diane Pasta, which is one of their more popular items. It reminded me a bit of a burger, likely due to the sauce, and the New York strip was quite chewy. I also was not too impressed with the bulgogi salad, as it felt like a standard salad topped with bulgogi without much added creativity. Overall, the food was good across the board. The service is done through a ringed bell. I am glad I got the chance to try this spot.

We recently dined at Da O'n Restaurant, which currently features a Korean-Italian fusion concept, and it was such a unique and memorable experience. The dining space is cozy and intimate, with three private dining rooms. Each table has a bell you can ring for service. The service throughout the meal was very friendly and attentive. We started with the beef tartare bruschetta. The flavor was incredible, but the beef slices were very large which made it difficult to eat gracefully. For our entrees, we ordered the Napa cabbage galbi-tang soup, Steak Diane pasta, and pork galbi. The soup was just okay; it wasn't the bold, rich depth you typically expect from authentic Korean soups. However, the Steak Diane pasta was scrumptious. The sauce was unbelievably delicious. We dipped the pork galbi into it because the sauce was plentiful and it made it better. The pork galbi was already tasty on its own, but that sauce took it to another level. The chef and owner, Kevin, came to our table at the end of the meal to ask for feedback on the beef tartare bruschetta (we were the first to try it), and we happily shared our thoughts along with feedback on the entire meal. He was genuinely open and receptive and even shared the story behind the restaurant concept, which was inspired by his childhood. He also explained that the restaurant's name means "all good things will come to you," which was very meaningful. It was delightful to connect with him and see how open he was to improving his dishes. We returned a week later to try more items: the crispy cheese bites, spicy pork rosé rigatoni, hot stone spicy pork, and spicy brisket soup. The hot stone spicy pork on a bed of purple rice was one of our favorites. It was moist and very flavorful. The spicy brisket soup had a much more robust flavor than the previous soup we tried. The rosé rigatoni was sweeter than expected, but wasn't bad. The crispy cheese bites weren't our favorite. They lacked depth of flavor and had a mochi-like texture. We did order the beef tartare bruschetta again since it was one of our favorites last time, and it was even better as Kevin implemented our suggestion of cutting the beef smaller. As we were leaving, Kevin met us at the door again to get feedback on our second visit, and we really appreciated that he had already implemented some of our suggestions from the first time. Kevin - we would be happy to be your guinea pigs anytime and will be back again.

I absolutely love Korean food and Da O'n wasn't far from where we were staying. The Steak Diane Pasta looked like something different. We ordered it and the DaO'n Bulgogi to split between us. Both were amazing, The Steak Diane Pasta was very creamy and delicious. This is a very savory dish and the noodles were amazing. The bulgogi was also very good, and the vegetables were cooked so well. This is probably the first time in a while I ate all my vegetables. My mom would have been proud. My wife ordered the East Sea drink, and she said it was her favorite alcoholic drink of the trip. Sweet and good. Service was a tad slow, but it worked as we were savoring our food. The restaurant is very nice inside, and we loved that it wasn't freezing inside.

Monica T.

Got the mackerel, the gochujang pasta, and the spicy pork over rice, and everything was really good. The gochujang pasta especially stood out, super creamy and flavorful. The mackerel was cooked to perfection, and the spicy pork was really flavorful as well. Service was great! everyone was really nice and attentive. Parking was easy, which is always a plus. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the pork jewel rice cake when we went, but I'd definitely come back to try their other dishes. The ambience was really nice too, and they even have private rooms, which is great for groups or special occasions.

Soy salmon, banchan, gochujang pasta, steak Diane

Sonia K.

Came with a group of friends and we loved everything we got- Soy Salmon, Steak Diane pasta, Gochujang pasta, Brisket soup, Beef galbi ribs and Spicy pork over rice. I loved the soy salmon and the gochujang pasta the most, but it's hard to pick favorites too. We loved the cocktails as well and the standout drinks were Seoul Spectrum, the Blue Plum drink and the Velveteen Brew. Definitely worth the visit and when we came it wasn't that busy either. Servers were super sweet and friendly and gave us great recommendations. Ambience is really great with private rooms for larger groups as well.

Thuy P.

We randomly picked this restaurant since we were on Katy freeway side. It turned out to be more than we anticipated . Food and service were good. The ambiance is nice. Glad we choose it.

This place opened recently around corner from my house. The service was great, Kevin was super friendly and very knowledgeable about food preparation, enjoyed talking with him about the cut of meat (brisket) he used for making the Bulgogi I had which was amazing, tender and just melted in my mouth. Husband had the Pork cutlet. The crisp on it was perfect (they make it themselves from local market bread). Crisp, light and airy. Will be coming back soon! read more

Came to Dao'n with a friend for lunch and left with full, satisfied bellies! Portion size was quite good! 3 dishes for 3 people was more than enough. Favorite dish of the meal was the Gochujang pasta: Creamy, sweet, and a small spicy edge with nice little raviolis in there as well. It was a slightly fusion-y combo I wasn't expecting to be so yummy! Service was excellent and ambience was fairly quiet and dim! My wife and I have it reserved for a date spot in the future. Hate to leave anything less than a 3 star review but it's not worth the price. Cute place, one of the press button for service place. Drinks take a long while to come out and mocktails were not as decorated as on the menu (kids were disappointed). The $130 beef platter was overcooked with no flavor. The Dao'n soup must be an acquired taste because I can't describe what it is. The beef tartare was amazing. Grilled mackerel was good. Didn't expect the pepper flake on the steak Diane as it was not noted as spicy? Kid couldn't eat it. Noted in reservation that it's for birthday but nothing special was offered. We were sat at the front and unfortunately someone was smoking outside so every single time the door opens, adults and children in our party got a big inhale of all the second hand smoke. Would not say it's kid friendly, it's big group and friends hang out friendly though. read more

Food is interesting. I think the overall ambience and aesthetic of the restaurant is a bit more catered to the IG/Tik Tok generation. Has a bit more of an edgy feel, which sort of flows into the vibes of the food. The food is tasty, but at a similar price point, you have many other options nearby that are a bit tastier. For me, it seemed like a dish that popped up quite a bit on social media and got fairly hyped was the steak on top of pasta. The steak, for me at least, was a bit overdone. The pasta and sauce, though, were delicious. I'd prefer the pasta a bit more al dente. Overall, a good experience. I think if their dishes are refined over time, then it'll be an even better experience. Service was attentive and excellent. read more

Had a girls' night out with my sisters and mom -- and it was perfect. The cocktails were incredible (so unique with Korean flavors you won't find anywhere else), and every dish hit the spot. We loved the gochujang pasta, TX half ribs, and pork jowl rice cake -- all so flavorful and unlike anything we've had in Houston. Service was on point, I barely had to use the red button to call them over. Jae was great, and all servers stopped by the table to check on us. The menu is small, it needs more variety and they don't have a signature dish and their food doesn't stand out. The music is way too loud and the ambience is mediocre. However their seafood pancake is decent and their service is ok. read more

I was impressed by the portion size, because each half could've been placed in a separate bowl, add more broth (shaved ice and a slice of Korean pear optional), and that's two portions in most places. Historically, these noodle dishes were a rare treat and a delicacy, as these noodles were very labor intensive and hard to make (although I'm sure they're mass produced now), and had to be served cold in the summer heat. Banchan was tasty too, including the kimchi which was early in the fermentation stage. The kimchi pancake was huge, definitely had to take this one to go, and came with an optional Korean-style spicy soy dipping sauce. I ordered the combo and went with the Bulgogi, which was tender and tasty, but didn't come sizzling so the pan it came in was more for display. Still, great good, fantastic value, and definitely the real deal. It's not as fancy as some of the more expensive neighborhoods of Houston (and a bit out of the way for me), but sometimes you just want some really tasty and unpretentious Korean comfort food.

We normally aren't fans of cheese tonkatsu--in fact, we didn't even realize it had cheese in it when we ordered it--but wow... it was actually so good. Definitely a pleasant surprise. My husband's seolleongtang was amazing too. The banchan was fresh and well-prepared, and every dish we had was delicious. The service was absolutely perfect. The ladies working there were incredibly kind and even brought my husband extra noodles for his soup without us asking. That small gesture really made our experience even more memorable. Thank you so much! There's a decent amount of parking, but dinner time gets pretty busy, so I'd recommend arriving early since it's not a very large restaurant. 10/10. Personally, I haven't tried those because Korean BBQ and sushi together just feels a little odd to me. I grew up in LA where we usually went to separate places for each, but I'm sure plenty of people enjoy having both options. The meat quality is really good, and everything is well-seasoned and flavorful. My only complaint is the soups--they don't really taste like the traditional Korean soups they're supposed to be. They could definitely use some improvement. That said, other side dishes like the tteokbokki are actually really good. For the price, it's an excellent value. The service is usually good, although it can be a little inconsistent depending on your server. One thing I really like is that they include dessert, such as Korean ice cream bars, regular ice cream, and other sweet treats. We've been here several times already and definitely plan on coming back. That said, the consistency of both service and food quality between visits can be noticeable. Service can be very slow at times, even when the restaurant isn't particularly busy. We've had issues with banchan not being brought out, grills not being turned on, and fish orders taking nearly an hour to arrive. Food quality can also be hit or miss. For example, the Cheese Crab Puffs have occasionally arrived completely cold with barely any crispiness or color, and we've had similar issues with other appetizers. My favorites are the Garlic Salmon Sashimi, Black Angus Marinated Short Rib, Wagyu Beef Belly, Black Angus Rib Finger, and Thick Cut Pork Belly. I also enjoy the Takoyaki, Crispy Tuna Rice, and Tteokbokki. There are a few dishes I would skip, including the Spicy Scallop Sashimi and Nigiri unless you enjoy very small scallops, the Baked Green Mussels, which are overly sweet, and the Prime Beef Brisket, which I've found to be tough and dry. Overall, there are plenty of dishes I genuinely enjoy here, but the inconsistency keeps this from being a place I can wholeheartedly recommend. When everything is executed well, it's a great meal, but you never quite know what kind of experience you're going to get. That being said, I tend to get good ones the majority of the time.

What's nice is you can get many of the dishes with noodles or rice as your starch of choice. 10/10 Jjamppong - the broth is flavorful, seafood rich, and noodles perfectly bouncy. SOO good. DAÖ'N is a Korean modern restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and excellent service. A few months after our first visit, my friend and I returned to try some other dishes. This time, we ordered the dak katsu ball, gochujang pasta, and pork galbi. The dak katsu balls were big and incredibly crispy on the outside. The sauce on top of the katsu ball was so good that I was tempted to ask for a small dish of it for dipping. The gochujang pasta was the highlight dish for us. The sauce was rich, creamy, and spicy. We enjoyed it so much we wished the portion had been a little bigger! The pork galbi was tender and juicy. The onions were crunchy and sweet and balanced the savoriness of the pork. Overall, we were happy with what we ordered and felt that the dishes paired satisfyingly well with each other. For cocktails, we ordered the Night Sky and the Vera de Ca. The Night Sky was tangy and citrusy, while the Vera de Ca was sweet and fruity. Both were very delicious! Overall, we had another wonderful dining experience at DAÖ'N. If you're eating in the restaurant, I 100% recommend grilling your own meat, since the oil they cook the beef in the kitchen makes all of them have an off-taste. I really enjoy their gimbap, jjajangmyeon, and all of their large family beef platters. Everything here is so inviting, from the elaborate restaurant entrance providing a really unique experience the moment you walk in, to the oranges they give at the end that help cap off the experience. In terms of the food on my most recent visit, here's my opinion on each one: Beef Platter In Kitchen - 7/10, again I would definitely recommend getting it raw to grill yourself, since here there isn't much char or anything special about it. Beef Bulgogi In Kitchen - 7/10, didn't get the bulgogi flavor whenever ordering it in kitchen. Spicy Octopus - 8.5/10, REALLY spicy if you order it that way, but incredibly addictive to where I couldn't refuse to eat it. Kimchi Stew - 7/10, a side whenever you get the beef platter. I prefer the egg but this is still good and filled with different ingredients. Gimbap - 9.5/10, I love gimbap and this one is always so satisfying and filling. A great appetizer for a group of 4+ people. Soft Shell Crab - 6/10, my least favorite thing that we ordered, the flavors just didn't mesh together for me. Naengmyeon - 8/10, definitely an acquired taste, and I don't love the egg in here, but still really good cold noodles. Broth is nice, refreshing, and savory. Even though I have mixed feelings about the dishes we got this time around (the food is usually all insanely tasty), the overall vibe whenever you come here is just so strong that the food this time around didn't bother me. This restaurant has always made me so happy whenever I eat, and for the prices that they sell at, it is definitely worth a try whenever you find yourself in this area.

I arrived a few minute early and was greeted warmly, by who, I was later to find out, was the owner. We had chatted a bit before my friend arrived, and the owner surprised us by offering us one of the private rooms despite there only being the two of us. There were three different options for the AYCE menus. We went with menu A which was the middle option because came with the galbi option, my favorite! It also included a few Korean fried chicken options as well not included in the B list. The AYCE option came with a few included starters, including a dumpling, shrimp tempura, salad, tteokbokki, and cheese corn. The tteokbokki and cheese corn were both disappointing and congealed by the time we got them. Not sure if they were precooked and sitting around, but it seemed to be the case. There were four banchan options that came out as well which were tasty enough. I'm used to a lot more banchan options though. As for the meat, I selected four different kinds- beef belly, wine pork belly, galbi, and bulgolgi. The galbi and bulgolgi were both the stand out items for me. Definitely order those two. You do the cooking yourself here. I cranked up the heat to the grill an extra notch because I felt like it could use a little more after cooking the first two items. I also special requested lettuce leaves and raw garlic, as they were not on the menu. I was excited to tried their fried chicken wings in soy garlic and spicy flavor. These were okay though and lacked the extra crunch and texture of some of my favorite kfc. The flavor was fine though. The gimbap we ordered was rolled nicely. The kimchi soup stew was a bit lacking but a nice way to end the meal on a cold evenings . We were brought out a tiny sweet rice drink at the end of the meal, which was perfect. I did enjoy that this place uses the button system when needing service. Just push the button to summon a server. My friend really enjoyed learning about the kbbq experience and trying some items unique to him. Overall a nice place I wouldn't mind returning to. It was a nice change to dine at a quiet beautifully decorated place complete with older Korean servers instead of eating at a loud trendy place with K-pop blaring.

For a relatively small Houston restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised at the wide variety of items…read moreavailable at their lunch buffet. My group went on a Tuesday, were seated immediately, and everything on the buffet was kept stocked the whole time we were there. They have at least eight different types of rice balls and sticks for the hot pot, as well as a nice big section for vegetables. There were several fish ball and fish skewer choices along with fatty sliced beef, shrimp, and very lean pork. If you didn't want the hot pot, there were three entrées, including two types of Korean barbecue beef. I believe there were eight sauce choices where you could mix and match to create your own blend to add to the broth. And if you don't want hot pot or premade Korean dishes, they also had a ramen station with six different brands of noodles, along with ramen cookers to dispense hot water and time your noodles. BEST OF ALL, when we went, there were four varieties of Korean fried chicken, along with fries, some type of seaweed-wrapped rice fritter, and a chopped potato and veggie fritter. To end the meal, they had free ice cream that you could scoop yourself (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cookies and cream). Our hot pot heated immediately, and the controls were accessible so that we could turn it down when ready. Great service!!!! You need to know that it is a bit hard to find the first time. The shopping center appears to be a U Shape: the restaurant is at the front, far right corner facing Bellaire. It is a couple doors to the right from 85° Bakery. With the buffet, tax and tip, price was about $20 per person for all you can eat.

I ate more of the prepared hot foods than the main itself. In my opinion it was super watery and…read morenot in a soupy tteokboki way. It was bland even after putting three scoops of sauce. The cream was diluted and did not make it much creamier. There was also a dead fruit fly in the radish bin. Workers were nice but not knowledgeable. Ambience was fine but I filled up on their fried chicken and the ramen station. This is not traditional tteokboki in any way.

The server (who I also believe is the owner of Manna Noodle House) offered my friend and I barley tea while we took a look at the menu. My friend and I ended up getting: White Seafood Noodle Soup Black Bean Noodle (Jjajangmyeon) The jjangmyeon was standard but the white seafood noodle soup was spectacular! The broth was delicious and there was a good amount of veggies and seafood in the soup. The banchan (side dishes) only consisted of kimchi and pickled yellow radish but they went well with the jjajangmyeon. Overall, I'm glad I got the chance to try this small local business and I'm looking forward to coming back!
