One thing I really appreciate is that the staff grills the meat for you, so you can just relax and enjoy your meal without worrying about overcooking it. Love the Korean modern architecture and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation! We ordered the japchae and seafood pancake that was recommended along with a pairing of makgeolli. Japchae was pretty good, but on the sweeter side and seafood pancake was delicious! For main course, I ordered the course option with the premium beef and pork options that yielded in 6 different types of meats. Our server suggested the large,but for 4 people I think we can do one size up. This came with steamed eggs, choice of soup, rice, and side dishes. I thought the soup size and side dish portions were very small for the 4 of us. The quality of all the meats were very good! This was the highlight of the meal. I felt like we could still eat more and ordered the bibimnaengmyun which is spicy cold noodle. This too was good, but on the sweeter side. Kimchi jjigae was also on the sweet side. To end it off, we ordered the mango wings, which was delicious. They added a mango sorbet to the top and pieces of mochi. Honestly, I think K-BBQ is always better in smaller groups so you can get more pieces of meat and fewer requests to refill the side dishes! This is not all you can eat. Very nice and boujee k bbq place. The area it's in could be better but the actual place is surprisingly nice. It looks like a nice place to have a meeting or to take a date or go with a group of friends/family. The servers cook the k bbq for you and the meat quality was the best I've had anywhere so far. Such a sweet guy and he cooked everything to perfection. My mom and I shared a plate of japchae and a small set of beef cuts. The japchae was really good! This place has the best SEAFOOD PANCAKE in Houston, and no one can tell me otherwise! Super fluffy and crispy. What an exceptional dining experience! I love kbbq, but if I'm keeping it 100, sometimes I'm just too tired or lazy to cook my own food. Here, they cook for YOU. I don't think it's even an option. We had the Butcher's Feast (Large) for 3 people and we were stuffed! There was a choice of 4 proteins and refillable banchan sides: kimchi, steamed egg, corn cheese, salad, fish cake, potato salad, perilla leaves, etc. My personal fave was the potato salad and kimchi. For the proteins, we chose the ribeye, boneless short ribs, pork belly and marinated pork. All were cooked to perfection. I was so hungry, my phone skipped some photos. :( An added bonus to dinner is the indoor art gallery. You can peruse while waiting for your table to be ready. Reservations highly recommended. I've been to Bori several times now, experiencing both the main dining room and the private room. I must say that Bori consistently provides excellent service and delicious food. The entire property is beautiful from the Hanok style building, the outside landscaping, the art gallery, the multiple private rooms, and the large main dining area. Reservations are not necessary, however highly encouraged as it does get busy during peak hours. Their meats are high quality. I haven't tried everything, but I truly believe you cannot go wrong with anything you choose here. I've enjoyed their japchae and Galbi jeem as appetizers. For meats, I liked their beef belly, spicy pork, marinated short rib, their NY strip. They cook the meat right in front of you, so you don't have to worry about cooking. There is a reasonable amount of desserts. Nice to finish your meal with. Have not tried their cakes, but their ice creams and mango bingsu will suffice. What we've found is that it's best to order one of their meat platters because they will include kimchi stew, cheese corn, steamed egg and white rice with your meal. Went for lunch with my girlfriends. Plenty of parking, and it's nice and cozy inside. I can see how in the evenings it could be a great date night place due to the lighting and the snazzy interior. Servers and everyone were pleasant, got us seated right away, and came by plenty of times to check our water and replenish accordingly. Their lunch menu has a great variety of options and the prices are reasonable. I had the Udon Yookejang, and it was delicious. The serving size was incredibly large. Four people could have eaten out of my one serving. I also wish it was just a bit spicier or that they had better chili crisp? But the udon and brisket were perfectly cooked and I enjoyed my meal. I came here in a big group of around 15 people and someone already pre-ordered all the food. Sadly, I forgot to take photos of everything. Everything was happening so fast. The waiter was very quick in bringing us the food. We were also put at a long table that does not have a grill so everything was precooked to medium and brought to us. Bori is good, or even very good, Korean BBQ. No doubt that the quality of meats, sides, and drinks here is very high. Where I struggle is the value. We made a reservation for 5pm on a Friday to take full advantage of their happy hour. When we arrived there were already a couple of tables enjoying their meals, but we were one of the first. It got quite busy after we were seated. We ordered the seafood pancake, beef cuts (with ribeye and marinated boneless short rib), a pork jowl, and a couple of glasses of wine. The meats were delicious and well marbled and perfectly complimented with their variety of banchans. I particularly enjoyed the combination of ribeye, kimchi'd garlic scapes, and kimchi'd radish all wrapped in lettuce and perilla leaf. Where I struggle to provide a strong recommendation for Bori is the value. Yes, they are trying to be a high end establishment and have set a good foundation for them to be just that. However, I feel that the AYCE KBBQ options in Houston have gotten so strong that Bori just seems less compelling. The likes of Garosu and Handam offer high quality meats, unique cuts of beef, and stellar marinated meat options, but they are unlimited. The side dishes at the AYCE places mentioned also tend to be quite strong. All of these are available at a much lower price point than what we had at Bori. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed my meal and was very full afterwards. The service is great and all of the food is delicious. I just can't find myself coming back if there are other very strong options in town. read more

I am a but conflicted on my bori experience because it was surprisingly underwhelming. Service was good in the sense that they cooked our meats for us, but there were things they did not do well. For example we were not provided all our sides. We had no rice, and when we asked about it, the waitress said we already had so much food that she didn't think we needed rice. The photos below reflect the food we had for a group of 3. The waitress also kept making comments about how much we were eating which i personally did not appreciate. As a business, why do you care how much people are willing to buy? This is not a buffet or ALL YOU CAN EAT, so again why are you being stingy with food we are trying to buy? The second area of concern is the sides were not great, kimchi was drowned by fish sauce that you couldn't enjoy it. And THE MEAT, even the "seasoned" short ribs, had barely any flavor. They're known for the meat cuts, but I also recommend trying their appetizers and entrees, especially the seafood pancake and japchae!! The exterior had some cool decorations and they have a mini art museum you can peruse once you're done. I went with my friends, 3 of us, and we ordered the $200 (around this) platter. We ordered 3 soups, assuming a combo would include one for each of us. The meat was very high quality and savory, however you didn't get that much. The sides weren't bad but I've had better (personally). At the end, they charged us for 2 extra bowls of soup, which was not previously disclosed or we wouldn't have ordered them. I went to BORI in Spring Branch for a work lunch, it was definitely a fun and memorable experience, especially since it was only my second time having Korean barbecue like that, and it was year ago The setup is impressive, and the food presentation feels like an event in itself. They cook the meat for you at the table, which is great if you're not totally sure what you're doing (like me). Everything was well-prepared and tasty, with a lot of different flavors to explore. I really appreciated going with two Korean colleagues who explained some of the dishes and added a cultural perspective to the meal. Even tried barley tea, which looks like slightly tinted water, but they says is good for digestion! All in all, a great spot if you're looking for more than just a meal. We came here for Saturday lunch. This place is well known for serving authentic Korean dishes. We made reservations just in case it was full. There is parking at the front and back of the restaurant. Upon checking in, we were seated right away. They converted the patio area for dining (without the grill). It was great to see many Koreans eating as that's always is a good sign. We ordered the Galbitang (short rib glass noodle soup), marinated beef belly and seafood pancake. Tip 1: Lunch specials available on Saturdays. Seafood pancake came out first. The outside batter was crispy and crunchy... just the way we like it. This is probably the best seafood pancake in Houston. Make sure to put some sauce when eating. Galbitang came out steaming hot. Two big short ribs with bone and brisket and some herbal Ingredients. My wife said it was delicious and satisfying. The marinated beef belly may be normal looking but was yummy! I would order again in a heart beat. I wrapped them with the leaves provided and put some of the panchan with it. Per Korean dramas, you are supposed to eat everything in one bite. As part of the order, they give 4 different panchans with salad and a side of gochuchang (spicy bean paste). Staff were friendly and comes to check often. You can ask any of the staff for additional panchan (refillable), drink or anything else. Definitely come check them out. I couldn't believe Houston has a fancy restaurant like BORI tucked away in the Spring Branch neighborhood. From the moment I entered the parking lot to the dinner table. Everything was so immaculate and no shortcuts to perfection. Because we were here as part of a tour, the group lead ordered 4 signature dishes to share amongst 8 of us hungry tourists. Located in Spring Branch area, BORI is slightly tucked away compared to other Korean restaurants on Long Point. Given its increased popularity throughout the years, parking in their private lot could be very limited, however, there are valet parking and street parking available. The building and interior is modern with hints of Korean influence. They also have an art gallery which is pretty unique. BORI has an à la carte menu. Our go-to are the seafood pancakes and the Butcher's Feast combo which comes with beef belly, rib finger plus 4 additional meat of choice, and 3 sides. The seafood pancakes tastes freshly made, soft and moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The meat quality and flavors are solid. The servers are attentive and cooked the meat perfectly for us. You might be slightly disappointed if you are used to DIY spots. I'm also a fan of the steamed egg, corn cheese and kimchi stew which came with the combo. While the main courses are delicious, the banchans are refreshing and tasted traditional. Bori is a great place to eat! Nestled in the Spring Branch area just outside of the Long Point Korea town area, this place offers some authentic Korean food that is hard to beat! Review for BORI Restaurant We have been frequent visitors to BORI and have always enjoyed the great-tasting food and consistently good service. Unfortunately, our most recent visit will be our last due to the way we were treated. On December 21, 2024, at 5:30 pm, we brought close friends to BORI for dinner, hoping to offer them a comforting evening after the recent and heartbreaking loss of their 10-year-old son. While the meal itself was enjoyable, the experience took a disappointing turn at the end. Upon check-in, we were informed of a 2-hour dining limit, which we understood. However, at 7:20 pm, while we were finishing dessert, the hostess abruptly entered and rudely told us that our 2-hour limit was up and that we needed to leave. Her tone and delivery were shocking--leaving our entire party stunned and us, as the hosts, deeply embarrassed. There is a respectful and professional way to communicate that information, but the hostess seemed completely unaware of how to do so. We have dined at many fine restaurants with similar two-hour time limits and have never been treated this way. Most establishments understand that a party may run 10 to 20 minutes over and handle it with much more professionalism and courtesy when enforcing the policy. After spending over $400 on dinner, we expected more professionalism and sensitivity, especially during what was meant to be a supportive evening for grieving friends. The hostess's attitude and lack of proper training completely soured what should have been a pleasant experience. This incident has made us question ever returning to BORI. We ordered a meal option that had them cook at our table,it was fun to watch but the table was crowded between the cooking and all of the salad and filler you get with the order. This location has a pretty cool art exhibit across the hall you can visit for free with a ton of detailed paintings, so I guess that offset the price some. I stopped by for a double date with my sister and our husbands. This was my first visit, and I appreciated the convenience of valet parking in the front (it's free!) and definitely a time-saver. There's also self-parking available in the back, spots can be limited on a busy night though. Me and my wife were looking to try some A5 wagyu and found out about Bori from a friend of ours. Safe to say, I'm so glad I followed their recommendation because Bori was out of this world! This was a FEAST. The meal began with a bottle of yogurt soju because there's absolutely no other way, and the apps were the kimchi dumplings, kimchi pancake, NY strip tartare, and the shrimp arugula salad. They were all pretty good, but the kimchi pancake was devoured like the kitchen was closing. Our server was dedicated to keeping our cups full and the soju stayed flowing, she made sure we had everything we needed and didn't hesitate to happily answer any questions. At Bori, a perk is the meat being cooked for you, and every piece was just the right temp. We got the ABC Platter, 1 choice from each set/menu for 88 bucks. We had the sirloin flap, soy ginger ribeye roll, and the pork belly. My favorite of the three was the ribeye because it had that deep, savory flavor right off the grill. There's also a battalion of sides, so it's impossible to leave hungry. Especially with a little peach soju on the side. Bori might be considered a higher end place, but the atmosphere is really chill. Everyone was laughing, talking, drinking, just having a good time like happy hour never ends. When my parents drive into town and insist that we come here TWICE in a row, I know it's the real deal for authentic Korean food. BORI has set the bar very high for quality KBBQ in Houston. The restaurant is located close to I-10 and with plenty of parking. They take reservations online which also made it convenient. There is a garden outside the restaurant that provides a traditional vibes while the interior is modern, clean, and spacious with a nice art museum inside. I read online that they use a strong ventilation system to prevent you from leaving the restaurant smelling and PSA - it actually works! I was surprised that my shirt & hair didn't smell like KBBQ when I got home. The meat portions are small and definitely overpriced, but boy they are GOOD and "fine steakhouse" quality as my parents would say. We ordered a large Short Rib Platter (boneless short rib + seasoned short rib + marinated short rib for $120) - the order of these meats is strategic because they get more delicious by the item. The corn cheese and steamed egg on the side are great. Our server also did a great job cooking for us, though this did not fill us up so we ended up ordering 2 additional marinated short ribs ($43 each) for our party of 5. The meats took a while to arrive though, so try to place your meat orders as soon as possible. For appetizers/starters we ordered the japchae (very flavorful and would recommend) and octopus carpaccio. And lastly for dessert, they provided one on the house since we were celebrating a birthday. We opted for hotteok, a delicious traditional pastry with cinnamon sugar and nut filling (+ vanilla ice cream). Dinner at BORI was such a treat!
