The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and well-kept. All the staff were so nice and welcoming, from the hosts to our server. Everyone was super helpful, which made the experience even better! For starters, they brought us edamame, and then we ordered the UNI shooter. It was good, but that aftertaste wasn't my favorite. I completely forgot it was made with sake, and I'm not a fan of sake. Call me weird, right? Most people love pairing raw sushi with sake, but not me! LOL. Next, we got the salmon spoon, and OMG, the salmon was so fresh! I absolutely loved it, and that sauce on top was SO GOOD! I also ordered two nigiri pieces and a temaki roll. The otoro was incredibly soft and fresh; it practically melted in my mouth! The uni was also super fresh and didn't taste fishy at all, which I loved. I was really hoping to try the sweet shrimp, but unfortunately, they didn't have any that day. Lastly, we tried the uni pasta. It was just okay for me. It had a slightly fishy taste that didn't sit too well with my palate. Overall, I had a great experience! Not every dish was a personal favorite, but the service, atmosphere, and freshness of the sushi definitely stood out. I would absolutely come back whenever I'm in town again!

It's definitely time to update this review!…read more It's safe to say that we love this place. We have had our share of to-go dishes that haven't really delivered. After leaving some feedback through the mobile app, we haven't had any issues since then. The service is always considerate and top-notch, although I will say sometimes to-go really feels like a drive-through. Just getting you in and out. Which I can respect because they are so busy. Hopefully with the opening of their new location, everyone will go over there lol. The one thing that I will say is such a bummer, especially on the nicer evenings, is that they do not have a dog friendly patio. Even though they have a gorgeous outdoor space, we have to gravitate to places like Annesso's, Mad Duck, and other local favorites to bring our pup with us. I respect their decision, but it's just such a bummer. Absolutely in love with the cashew cauliflower, the brie and loom bread, and the salmon. Servings are plentiful enough where I can easily get another meal out of it. So happy for this place growing and even expanding with their new coffee shop location. What a treat for such a great place.

I was pleasantly surprised by the seafood here. Their steamed fish is outstanding. The portion is…read moregenerous, and the fish is really savory, tender, and well seasoned. Just beware that it does take longer to cook than some of the other dishes on the menu, so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. It is definitely worth it. From August 1st through August 31st, kids eat free as long as the adults/parents purchase an entree, which is a really good deal. I would definitely recommend the steamed fish. It comes with a side of rice and a salad, and it's filling enough that you get a lot for your money. I also like that they have a membership rewards app that you can download. It's under Lin's Restaurant Group. I can go to their neighboring restaurants and the discounts and rewards really add up, especially if you eat at these places often. The kids chow mein and orange chicken. My kids loved it. The orange chicken comes with a side of rice. Like I said, there was a little bit of a wait for the fish, but it was absolutely worth it. You can almost taste the love in the food.

This place will shock u if you are expecting authentic chinese cuisine. It like cosplays chinese…read moredishes but when you order its like wham American quality. But you have to understand that I come from a place where authentic chinese food is abundant so maybe this is good for what they offer in the area. Interestingly enough, you get a small wonton salad or hot and sour soup with your meal per person and a bowl of rice with each entree. Its a pretty big venue so plenty of room to host bigger families and the waiting logistics seem to have a system. They offer purple and white rice. The purple rice is straight purple rice not mixed, a bit chewier, for some odd reason had a bit of a weird taste to it, not sure if the grain was older or something related to the washing process. Cold appetizer beef slice dish- popular chinese cold appetizer, but the slices were too thick so it lost the texture Tea smoked duck- cured duck, quite liked it, wish it came with more buns. The plate is plastic though. Its not super authentic but has a nice crisp and flavor Boiled beef slices in chili oil - so odd looking compared to what im used to getting at chinese restaraunts. The slices were thick and more of the stir fried corn starch feeling, not really like a thin slippery oil but a thickened sauce. They had cucumbers in it too Cauliflower dry pot- no wok hei, american cauliflower and bell peppers instead of chinese, but out of the dishes stir fried well (kind of like Mongolian noodles) Service was okay, more like american fast casual chain restaraunts. Kind of like olive garden esque. Anyways interesting experience and lots of space!

It was the perfect Sunday meal on a cool crisp, California fall day…read more In this visit I had the sukiyaki pot. It's one of their new items. It did not disappoint. It has more of a sweet savory flavor end notes. Reminds me of caldo the res broth/pho without the strong starnise taste, with its own unique twist. I added some sauces and garnish from their bar. And I ordered the j pot spicy level, ordered tawainese tempura on the side to add on the soup, and for protein tofu. The soup includes a variety of vegetables, mushroom and noodles. Shirataki and udon. It also included a side of rice as my side. I really enjoyed this pot. And it was something new and different. If you don't like the end notes of sweetness then this might not be the pot for you but keep in mind that you can make it spicy. From the broth spice level to what you add to your broth. I personally enjoy spicy flavors, so the end notes of seeetness helped cool down the esophagus and the spice levels lol. And as usual the pots here are great for leftovers. It was a busy day. And the section we were in included big parties. Nevertheless, our server was attentive and friendly. She provided excellent customer service.

Years Later, J Pot Is Still Just as Amazing!…read more It's been several years since my last review of J Pot, and I recently decided to return. I'm happy to say that everything is still just as amazing as I remembered! A few weeks ago, I visited with my family, and just last week, I returned again with my friends. Both visits were wonderful! One thing I noticed is that they've added several new items to their hot pot menu, which is exciting because there's now even more variety to choose from! Despite these additions, the food still tastes just as delicious as I remembered. The sauce bar is still the same, and the quality has remained consistent throughout the years. The employees were fantastic during both visits, and the atmosphere was just as welcoming and familiar as before. I really appreciate restaurants that maintain their quality and customer service over time. Here's a great deal worth mentioning: When we ordered our individual hot pots, we were able to get their boba drinks for half off! That's a wonderful deal, especially when dining with family or friends. My only wish is that they would bring back their red bean sesame balls! Those were one of my absolute favorites from years ago, and I genuinely miss them. Overall, I'm glad I returned after all these years. With the new hot pot selections, delicious food, excellent service, and familiar atmosphere, J Pot continues to meet my expectations. Still a solid 5 stars from me!
