    These guys are artists....absolute artists.

Life changing pizza! Simple, yet perfect. The absolute best I've ever had after trying pizza all over Italy (got pizza at least 10 times on a 2 week trip, always asking for recommendations from locals). The sauce is absolutely perfect. The thin crust is amazing. The atmosphere.....perfect. Expect to wait in line, but it's worth it!

    Margherita

Margherita was great. You have to appreciate the culture and process. Great family and welcoming place. Don't listen to the people with negative reviews. Culture is culture. Thank you!!!

Get here early to line up. They open at 6

Our last night in Rome and we fell into a Pizza opera! We lined up at 6pm and were luck to have a ringside seat to the pizza magic! The mood inside is wonderful with many wait staff taking orders, bringing your wine immediately and delivering the piping hot pizza to your table. The pizza was so thin and crispy! We ordered a plain Margherita and one mushroom with sausage. Both were fantastic! If your in Roma, this is a great stop but get there early!

    Menu

Good pizza, tried baffeto (see menu) and liked. Really sucks that it's cash only because I had to go to BS ATM to get cash, 15%+ in fees! Idk if this is normal or not in Rome yet, but not coming back.

Crazy how simple can be so much better! Don't come here expecting anything other than the traditional Roman pizza. I had the margherita and it was delicious. No frills. Super thin dough with a light layer of sauce and cheese. My partner had the salami and fungi which was also delicious. I didn't think the service was bad at all. The place is busy. Line out the door even as it started raining. So yes, you may have to wait for a table and yes, you'll wait a bit to order and be served so don't try to squeeze this place in between reservations or tours. Relax and enjoy!

Da Baffetto is honestly not the best pizza in Rome. I've been here twice and the first time was bad and the second was just "meh". Let's start with the staff. The owner is not exactly the most charming person in the city of Rome. I've been here twice and he is always making faces at customers and kicking people out of their tables when they haven't even finished their wine. Thank God, this second time I was sited in the outside area of the restaurants, which was GREAT because nobody was pressuring us to leave. One positive thing about Da Baffetto is that they are open pretty late compared to other restaurants and their prices are really affordable. So in a way, you are getting what you paid for. This place can get really crowded and have huge lines, so don't come here if you are starving because you might have to wait for a few minutes to get in. The second time we visited, we came here around 11PM on St. Patrick's Day and were seated really quickly.

This was the best pizza we had in Rome!! It's worth the wait! It was soo good we ended up going back a second time during the week we stayed in Rome. It was really cool getting to watch them make the pizzas too!! The waiters were really nice and service was quick! Highly recommend.

This review is for a pre COVID visit. What I love about Rome is that you can find many different types of pizzas to suit your mood or personal preference. The pizza at Da Baffetto is the super thin, eat with the fork kind. The place is pretty unassuming, that if you weren't looking for it you'd certainly miss it. There are also no pushy waiters standing outside convincing you to go in -- sign number one of a good place. Secondly, you'll see many locals frequent and when in Rome certainly do as the Italians do. On my multiple occasions I've only ever ordered the pizza so I can't speak to their other menu items. However, I think the pizza is what makes this place popular. It's fired in the brick oven so it comes out super quick, if there's not many other people at the restaurant. It's served piping hot in a huge pan and I do recommend you get one for yourself. They might be as big as your head but because they're so thin it's incredibly easy to eat an entire one by yourself. Don't try to pick it up with your hands since it'll fall apart pretty quickly, use a fork and nice especially if you don't want to look like a clueless tourist. The margarita pizza was incredible. The flavors fresh and authentic with a perfectly thin dough with just the right amount of charred edges for the crust. While I stayed in Rome I visited this place often and highly recommend you add it to your list!

An authentic family-owned pizza restaurant with delicious food. This was our first meal in Italy and did not disappoint. Lots of locals were visiting which made us feel good about the decision to make this our first stop. We watched the pizza being made while sipping on peronis (next time would go with the house wine). We can't wait to go back!

Amazing food. Amazing staff. A little hole in the wall place with the lightest pizza I've ever had. I ate the whole thing, which rarely happens. What I also liked and appreciated was that they have some staff that speak languages outside of Italian and basic English (one speaks Spanish marvellously). If you want real Italian pizza that is reasonably priced and tastes amazing, go here!

My boyfriend and I ate here during our first night in Italy. If I could, I would rate this as a 3.5. We enjoyed the pizza and bruschetta a lot. We contemplated on trying the margarita but we're suckers for pizza with a fried egg. The tomatoes on the bruschetta tasted really fresh and the bread it was on was delicious. However, the service wasn't the greatest. We ate at a late hour where it wasn't as busy so you would think the waiters would be more attentive. Be prepared for a line though!

PIZZA FANS! OVER HERE!! Stop looking for traditional pizzerias in Rome and hurry to visit this one. Pizza here is thin and they have a good flavor variety in the menu. I recommend ordering the house's wine, mushroom pizza, pepperoni pizza, and for dessert, Nutella pizza. If you are a good-eater, order one for yourself, I did! But split the dessert. I do not recall making any reservations but we waited for 15-20 minutes, which is very reasonable for a popular place.

    Pizza al Salame

This gem was hidden on a small street off the main road. It was much bigger than anticipated when looking from the outside. There was a dining area on the 2nd floor where lots of pictures of customers with the employees occupied the walls. The food came out in a timely matter. I ordered the pizza al salame. It contained Pomodoro, mozzarella, and hot salami. The slightly burnt thin crust was appropriate. Everything about this pizza was outstanding. The hot salami with the mozzarella along with the light Pomodoro sauce proved to be the right choice. I also tried the following pizzas that are below... Pizza With Prosciutto - This was similar to the pizza above except with the prosciutto. A solid put together pizza. Pizza with Zucchini Flowers - This contained tomato, mozzarella, and zucchini flowers. The pizza as a whole was good, but I was just not a fan of the presence of the zucchini flowers. Pizza with Mushrooms, Onions & Sausage - This was my favorite pizza I had. I am usually not a fan of mushrooms on a pizza, but I was pleased with this. It might have just been the overall combination with the onions and sausage. Will I go back? Easily.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.

So happy we did as this place definitely delivers. There is seriously like 8 tables in the dining room so expect a wait in line but trust me, it's worth it. We waited outside for about 25 minutes. They do take your order while in line so the wait for food (once you do get a table) is abbreviated. Out of the world pastas and the pistachio tiramisu is seriously out of this world. Inexpensive table wine rounds out a great meal. This is the type of place I love to go to. It's quaint, zero pretense and delivers on its food. A great find!
