Have ordered here a couple times while working night shift at the hospital. It is so amazing they are open so late. The food is always ready pretty quickly, and has usually been delivered earlier than expected. I would say the classes are a pretty good size for the price. I have ordered their meatball calzone and their Yellow jacket calzone. The meatball calzone had a plethora of meatballs in it, and their red sauce has a good flavor to it. The calzone was cooked well with a nice crisp on the bottom. The yellow jacket calzone was also cooked well. I feel like all of the ingredients inside (hamburger meat, egg, tots, cheese, hot sauce, and taco seasoning) meshed well together. The only thing I would have liked better would be if the cheese inside was melted more. Definitely will be ordering from here again, especially working that overnight shift. read more

I've gone to this location a few times now. I usually order online for pick up and it is usually ready by the time I arrive. It may not be the best calzone you've ever had, but they have a lot of options, custom options, and they're open late! This location is in a large plaza so parking is super easy. This place is located in a shopping center so parking is not a problem. Once you go inside it is pretty spaced out with a few tables. One of the walls is a giant chalk board which you can write on. The main reason that we came here is because it is open until 2AM. There isn't much else open besides bars so we didn't have many choices. The menu is limited with mostly different varieties of calzones and some sides like tater tots and garlic bread. The prices are decent but the calzone is definitely not as big as normal calzones. Also it seemed that there was more sauce and cheese than actual meat. The cheesy bread tasted pretty good though and is definitely enough to share with a few people. This place mostly serves the purpose of being a late night spot to get some decent food. The service and prices were also fine. Live near location and found an online deal - so we checked it out. I was pleasantly surprised! Not the most user friendly online ordering page but was pleasant and easy to call order in. Order was ready in 20 minutes when we picked it up. My husband got a Italian Calzone with multiple Italian meats, cheeses and large side of flavorful marinara for dipping. Lots of meat and cheese in the calzone and good flavored dough. I got a "make your own" with meatballs, jalapenos, pineapple, cheese mix and Garlic Parm sauce inside the calzone. I will say my husband's was better - a lot less toppings in mine and the garlic parm sauce tasted very artificial and oily - not my fave. The cheese sticks were good with marinara dipping sauce and well done/crispy cheese on top. The apple pie zone - just skip it. The dough is covered with small amount of cinnamon/sugar but flavorless. The apple filling really is missing something - the apples needed to cooked more, seasoned better - maybe a little sweeter. The vanilla icing may have been a canned frosting, but was actually the best part. They have a $5 Special calzone daily and on Wednesdays $2/10.00 for any. DP Dough is tasty and pretty decent quality for the price for late night or lunch college style eating. They have salads and boneless chicken wings that sound pretty good as well - may try next time. I came here on a groupon. Not too shabby of a deal. The prices are great for the variety that you get. Most calzones they offer have a variety of stuff you can add or pick off the menu. I do believe some extra meat is a little extra though. They are pretty big. I was only able to eat half. Friendly staff. To start off just tried your regular old simple calzone with cheese,pepperoni and ricotta. Taste/texture- The dough was excellent compared to other calzones I've had. Great texture and flavor. D.P Dough is an establishment that is talked very highly about among my wrestling brethren. Whether you're just looking for a good calzone...or stumbling in for a little sobering up. Nevertheless, the concept of an all calzone stop, I love. Especially if I can make my own calzone! Did I mention, all the clever names they have? Danger-Zone, Oh-Zone, Buffer-Zone.....you have me with the clever names! Now on to my order. While I will admit, I am very disappointed to see that Broccoli was not on the list of things to stuff in my calzone...no literally, tears were shed. I had this whole dream calzone in my head that never came to life. Tragic really...but I digress. I ended up ordering, BBQ Sauce, Chicken, Cheddar and Onions. It was great, don't get me wrong. But I was swindled. For I did not see the (Add additional toppings for only .50 cents!) right beneath the ingredient list. I thought I was only limited to 4.....the tragedy continues. This place has $5 calzones on Mondays, so I gave them a shot. I ordered a Buffer Zone. This is supposed to be "breaded" chicken with mozzarella, hot sauce, and blue cheese. It was...average. Taste-wise it was pretty good, but it seemed over-cooked with too much dough crust. Additionally, I am fairly certain it didn't have any blue cheese inside. Also not sure what this business considers "breaded" chicken, because it certainly looked like grilled chicken that was shredded. The calzones come with a side of marinara, but I asked for blue cheese instead. Yet, I was given marinara. I deducted a point for screwing up my simple order. D.P. Dough makes great calzones, that aren't too greasy. I really enjoy their speciality calzones. The "Buffer Zone" is their version of a buffalo chicken calzone. It came with marinara sauce, but I think I'll ask for bleu cheese next time. The "Falling Roc" is not on the menu, but if you order it the staff knows how to make it. It has potato, cheese, and bacon in it. On Wednesdays, they have 2 calzones for $10. Each day there is a $5 calzone of the day, and it will be in their calendar, and Facebook. Sometimes they feature deals randomly if the U of R or the RIT sports teams win a game. They have fountain drinks or bottles. If you're in a hurry, call ahead. The inside of the establishment has a few tables and chairs. The bathroom is kind of gross, but it's a drunk college kid spot, so that's expected. I have ordered from DP Dough quite a bit and their food is absolutely amazing. The calzone's are very fresh and taste amazing. Now you may be wondering why are you giving them a three star rating if I order from them on a regular basis? Well I would say at least one out of every three orders they get it wrong completely. We got there and it was ready but cold, which we weren't horrified as we didn't know when it would be done we got there 40 mins after ordering online. The horrible part was the taste. The bread was hard and the sauce of the calzones tasteless. The 1/2 boneless chicken that was suppose to be TOSSED in sauce literally just had sauce drizzled on it. Always delicious. I've been going there for 2 years now and have only had one issue with an order which was quickly taken care of. Love the fact that you can order online and pay online so if I need someone else to pick up I can! Be sure to get their calendar as they frequently have great specials like 5 zones for $25! For this place, I am conflicted. On one hand, the food was good. In the other, the staff was disconnected and the religious paraphernalia littered through the place is off-putting. I only tried D P Dough once. After a long day where I didn't want to cook, I was advised of this spot for having good calzone. I ordered my calzone (forgot the type I ordered) but I did have a butter coating on top of the dough and a ordered a side of tator tots with cheese and bacon. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't eat all the food in one sitting. Leftovers were just as good as they were when they first came out. Unfortunately, the girl behind the counter was practically suffering from major RBF and couldn't be bothered to even make eye contact. The Jesus fish, crosses, and other religious items throughout the venue was in poor taste. I care about the customer experience and the quality of the food. Not impressed at all. The online site is hard to navigate and not user friendly. Order took an hour to get here when it said 20-40 minutes. Put on the instructions for delivery to only text me if they need to get in touch because I cannot use the phone, they still called me 3 times and never got a text. The calzone is supposed to come with marinara sauce, didn't get that. Paid extra for another sauce on the side, also didn't get that. The calzone was mediocre at best, especially without the sauces. The website has single handedly turned me off ordering from them. This has got to be one of the worst made online ordering systems I've encountered. Things that need to be improved upon: 1.) The shopping cart doesn't give me a subtotal or add the tax. Seriously ANY other shopping cart adds the items up & gives at least a subtitle, but not yours. I'm expected to do that myself. 2.) On the payment page where I add the tip, I have no way of getting to my total cost. Tips are based on a % of the total. Now this also conflicts with #1 as not only do I have to go into the shopping cart to find each items price, but add it up myself & calculate tax & tip. 3.) The construction zone is a laggy mess. Whoever wrote that javascript needs a serious talking to & having the extra price displayed at all times makes it very confusing as to what the actual price is. 4.) Show a delivery range. I had no idea whether or not they delivered to me until I had to go through all the other hassle. What if I was out of range? Now I'm angry and SURELY not going to order. 5.) In the Rochester area you're competing directly with Calios. Who provide a better service, a better website and better prices. 6.) To top it off the food is pretty bad as well. The guy who owns and runs this place does a phenomenal job. He goes out of his way to make things right for people of and when they get messed up. He even tried to learn a little bit of asl when we were there, so he could talk to the deaf students. The only reason this place doesn't get 1 star is because the food was really good. Extremely poor service. The reason you order online is to have the food ready by the time you get there.
