We ordered a pizza lastnight and specifically asked for "well done". When we got home it was legit raw. The cheese was melted but that was it. The toppings on this large pizza were enough for a personal pizza. We've ordered several times over the years and have never been impressed but I should have went to Tops and got a frozen pizza. Hands down it would have been better. I will add, the blue cheese on the side was super good. I would definitely not recommend going here as there's really no excuse for this. read more

Now the pandemic is endemic, Little Venice has resumed selling slices, an eighth of their 14" pie but now $4, offering only Cheese or Pepperoni, neither reheated, unless you ask, maybe. Customary condiments include red pepper flakes, grated parm, and garlic salt. Their minimum charge $6 thus requires another purchase, and Coke products are $2. Not hot, not filling, not very tasty, not a good deal, at least not for slices anyway. And the hours here on Yelp are wrong. The owners seem still to care, kinda, but it's a shadow of what it was in the 80s-90s. Go to New York. read more

I had the pizza here recently (just a basic pep and cheese) and I really wasn't a fan. The sauce was bland. The crust was undercooked and flavorless. My son makes pizzas at Wegmans and I think those are far superior. It took a really long time to come out too, and we were the only customers, the phone only rang once during our time waiting. I had pizza delivery from here a few years ago and I remember I really liked it! So I don't know it things have changed or it was an off night? I've been ordering from Little Venice Pizza short of a year, now. I'm seeing some of the negative reviews here and I'm happy to say that has not been my experience. In fact, it seemed like they were going out of their way to be friendly, accommodating, and quick with delivery. I like their thicker crust and think they offer one of the better delivery pizzas in the city. I typically get the vegetarian and substitute artichoke hearts for the mild peppers. A large cheese pizza with red sauce and any meat topping is a good choice too. I discovered this place from my former roommate who happens to be part of our Deaf community. I mention this only because I know they worked on communicating by text message during the delivery process which was important for him. I hope they continue to work on communication. I'd give them a chance, if you're hungry for a pie. read more

Small pizzeria located on South Ave. Great place to stop for a quick slice for lunch or dinner. Cheap as well! A few times the bottom of the crust has been overdone while the top wasn't cooked all the way thru (hence) the three star rating. Very tasty, very greasy! Grease comes right thru the bottom of the box so don't set it on your car seat. Crust on a pepperoni was crisp and moderately thin. Toppings were plentiful. I occasionally order delivery from Little Venice because they are close to my apartment. The food always comes hot and the delivery drivers are always very polite. Good subs...recently had the chicken parm sub. Fresh sub roll and delicious breaded chicken breasts. Pizza needs improvement, but is still decent enough. In the search for the next great Wing spot we tried Little Venice Pizzeria. We had their Medium Buffalo Wing sauce. Good heat, a nice crisp but they used a cheaper tougher wing. This is my favorite neighborhood pizza shop in the entire country (outside of Manhattan). The pizza actually rivals New York pie. While the cheese and pepperoni stand-bys are excellent, I think a better selection of by-the-piece options (roasted broccoli for instance? Chicken pesto perhaps?) would make Little Venice the slam-dunk option for lunch in the South Wedge. The sauce tasted fresh and the crust was just right -- crispy with a bit of dough to it without being too thin. We both loved it. The prices for a full pizza seemed a bit higher than some other places, but after trying their slices, we're ok with that. :) They have a minimum for credit card purchases ($6, i think). There's a number of chairs and tables inside and the owner was very friendly. If you grab one of their menus there are coupons on the back. They also deliver, which is great. Right across the street from Calverly's, this place has a great Buffalo Chicken Finger Sub... I love it! I'll call over from Cav's and order one up, then walk across the street and pick it up. They deliver in the South Wedge area, and everyone inside is always friendly. A friend of mine had told me about Little Venice's Garbage Plate Sub, and after 6 months of waiting I finally got around to trying one. I only have one regret after eating it, and it's the fact that it took me so long to try it! The bread was perfectly done, not too soft and not too crunchy. The best part is, it tastes like an actual garbage plate and not just a bunch of ingredients thrown onto some bread. The hot sauce was great, it wasn't overwhelmingly spicy, just hot enough to leave a warm sensation on my face. Little Venice Pizza is a classic pizza place. The pizza met expectations, but was fairly greasy, and tasted OK. The ingredients were pretty good and seemed to be fresh. The crust was buttery and had a good consistency. The buffalo wings were OK and would be ranked alongside those that I would get at a national chain. I decided to go with Little Venice because I didn't feel like leaving my hotel room and I could order delivery off of Yelp (really nice way to order delivery BTW). While in downtown Rochester, there isn't within eyesight than closed down shops and if you're lucky a bodega (corner store). Luckily Yelp and they saved my behind by offering delicious food and generous portions at the fraction of the price you find in chain shops. You won't regret ordering from them. Side note: the trash burgers don't come with bread but with ground beef holding a patty in between. No complains about it though, it just doesn't say that in the description. The pizza is always consistent but there are some other things that aren't. Their bleu cheese dressing seems to be normal one time then watered down the next. I've never seen that before and it worries me that they have to cut corners like that to save a couple dollars. read more
