    Tasty cut steak fries
    Mike M.

Ok. I've been here 5 or 6 times and I will say that Patty Shack has my favorite burger in Rochester (not counting fancy restaurant burgers). They have flat patties like everywhere else in the 585, but they are cooked to crispness and the meat crumbles like a bigger burger. Topping are fresh and the pickles are perfect. Thick steak fries are not my fav, but these are tasty. Reasonable prices, nice place, nice people. They are in a horrible spot to be seen and discovered by accident. Go and have a great burger.

    Double CHZ and Large Fries

After our disappointing experience with Smashburger recently, my coworker and I were on the lookout for another burger place to try out, and Yelp suggested this place. It is located in a sort of odd spot - I drove by it in the plaza 3 times before finally finding it! We both ordered double cheeseburgers with their fries, and I asked for a side of meat hot. This was an online order. The first thing I noticed when walking in - is that everything on their menu in person was cheaper than their website? The double cheeseburgers are $9.00 online but only $6.50 in person? Odd. The lady working the counter seemed to be having a bad day, and didn't appear to want to be there. The burger was really, really good! It was HUGE, delicious, filling. They could've put a little more of their sauce on it to compliment the amount of meat, but whatevs. I don't usually like thicker type steak fries, but these were excellent. And, the meat hot sauce...this was one of the best ones I have had in a longgggg time! It walked that delicate balance between sweet and heat very well! I will be back again soon! This would've been 5 stars if the prices online matched their store pricing.

fried onion rings and ketchup on a plate

Affordable, feels home made. Very interesting fries. I will have to go in person some day to try them fresh out of the fryer. I tried the chicken sandwich which was great. Juicy, generous portion of flavorful chicken. Veggies toppings were fresh. I tried the Patty sauce which was a thin thousand islands type sauce. The only issue is that delivery came from quite far away, so the bottom bun was quite soggy by the time I ate. I loved having bun options though. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger (pictured). At first he said it looked small, but then said the meat was pretty generous and was happy with the cheese. He didn't love the meat hot sauce because it had a little too much "cinammon" flavor. But I will say that it had a huge kick to it. More than I have had at several other diners and hots places.

Really great burgers, hot fries & onion rings. Kind of dirty inside, which was disappointing. Wish they had milkshakes too

Far better than any "fast" food. Lots of choices. Lots of toppings. Just worlds better than your (below) average drive thru "choke n' puke"

They have changed ownership and the food is not nearly as good. I could've gotten a better burger at McDonald's for less money.

Got a burger and dog plate. Unfortunately not overly impressed as it was just a mess and tasted like packaged food thrown together.

I rarely give out five stars. Between the abysmal customer service that seems rampant these days…read moreand fast, slapped together food, this is a Hidden Gem (promise not to tell anyone, o.k ?) I was done with work, tooling around Henrietta, and thanks to my errant GPS, took a wrong turn down Clay Road. That's how I found this place. Since I came in on the Clay Road entrance, I had no idea it was actually in the Holiday Inn and Suites, on the corner of Jefferson and Clay Roads. Of course, this means that it has a huge private parking lot. I used the Clay Road entrance, leading directly into the restaurant. It's actually bigger than you would think. It's very sleek, modern and cosmopolitan. To the left as you enter, is a gleaming, polished, black marble bar and barstools, with large, flat- screen TVs flanking the bar. I seated myself at one of the tables between the bar and the long, rectangular high top that separates the dining room. On the other side of the rectangngular table, is a spacious, living-room area, with comfy chairs and sofas, and another large flat-screen. It's a great place to gather and have drinks, or just relax and scroll through your email. There were over a dozen people enjoying their drinks and laughing and a couple of teenagers chilling on the sofas, intent on their cells. An impeccably groomed server, Preston, immediately came over and greeted me and gave me a menu. He served me both times that I was there for dinner. He asked about my mother, which was kind. I was impressed that he even remembered, considering the amount of people he serves. He even remembered what I had to drink (Prosecco) the first time. I usually avoid eating in hotels, even while on a trip in bad weather. Between his excellent service, and the delicous food here, I was warming to eating in a hotel, even if I live in Rochester. The first time, I asked him what he suggested; he said their burgers were excellent. I ordered a build-your-own Burger, with cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, and onion. The burgers all come with a side of fries or Pub Chips. Preston said that the Pub Chips are made in-house daily. I went with those. I changed my mind and canceled the lettuce, fearing iceberg. Being rather soft-spoken, he probably didn't hear that, and my burger arrived with lettuce. Fortunately, it was not the iceberg that I loathe; it was a nice wonderfully green and crisp leaf lettuce. I took one look at the Burger and thought "Oh Mama, there's no way I'm going to finish this sucker," as it was huge...like the Grand Canyon of burgers. I'm not a picky eater, just not a big eater. But I had a very light, early lunch, and was pretty sure I could eat most of it. I ate it all. I'm not generally a fan of fried foods, but the pub chips were beyond delicious. It was all I could do to restrain myself from eating them all; I saved some for my mom and it was quite a sacrifice. She devoured them. Last week I bounced in and decided to try their chicken wings. Man, they really give Richmond's a run for their money: large, meaty drums perfectly slathered in delicious buffalo sauce. They were served with a handful of carrot and celery sticks and the de rigueur blue cheese. Nice presentation, too. I highly recommend trying this Hidden Gem. This place not only knocked my socks off, it made them roll up and down.

Tully's is a sports bar/restaurant, so there were wall to wall tvs in each room with a variety of sports games on. That's to be expected. We were greeted quickly by our waitress with a bowl of popcorn- which we ate all of! I ordered a "Tully's IPA" figuring it would be fresh on tap- it is discounted a bit. It was good- nice hops flavor and not too strong. Wifey had just water as she does nowadays. She ordered a Crunchy Asian chicken salad - she thought it was ok- romaine and grilled chicken (she asked for and got grilled vs. fried chicken tenders). It also had broccoli and cabbage and crunchy wonton strips in it as well. She wasn't the biggest fan of the dressing though. I had the Caribbean chicken sandwich. Pineapple Mango salsa and blackened chicken ima bun with loaded potato salad with bacon on the side. Not a bad sandwich. For being our last minute choice- Tully's was an ok backup plan that got us a quick dinner before our movie. For what it's worth- at a sports bar restaurant like this- I stick with sandwiches , burgers or wings and you usually can't go wrong. Tullys does all those rather well.

I'm very forgiving when it comes to a bad experience at a place I go to often. In the last couple of years I've had some really bad experiences where the food is just not good. Last year I door dashed an order that arrived cold. The manager did try to make it right but not without another manager being informed or any kind of log. I had tried the breaded fish. That was mediocre at best. Not memorable. Last night I gave it another chance. I ordered 10 Tullys tenders (because that is the ONLY reason to eat here.,) a potato soup, a peanut butter pie and the monkey strawberry shortcake thing. I got there and waited inside. My food came out, they checked it was right, took a payment and I drive my food 1.5 miles. I got it home and it was barely warm. There is no way my food would cool down that fast in that short amount of time. This isn't the first time I've done this. The chicken was crunchy but lukewarm. The chicken seemed a bit chewy and kind of fatty. Some of them were huge and others were skinny. There was no consistency. The soup was not hot either. There was no cheese or chives on it like I thought there would be. It was kind of water. It just wasn't that good. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't something thought I'd ever want again. I ordered the new strawberry monkey bread shortcake. It came with one little tiny ramekin of strawberries. A huge mound of fried tasteless bread I think and I asked for no ice cream but they forgot the whipped cream. It was 100% awful. It was gross. I'm not going to mince words. The only decent thing was the peanut butter mousse cake which is a sure thing. Three bad experiences in a row is enough to make me decide that I will not be going back.

It's just an efficient system for making subs and transferring them into my mouth. I said hi to the lady at the counter, and our brief conversation led me to believe that she was also hungover. Sensing this kindred spirit, I asked, "If you were me, what would you order?" "Hot steak sub," came the immediate answer. I believed her, and appreciated that she didn't react with disgust at the thought of being me. So I got a hot steak sub. The largest size they had, with mushrooms and peppers and onions and provolone. It came out, and it was massive. And delicious. Tender steak, plenty of flavor, everything I needed in that moment. I only ate about 3/4 of it, because I knew I'd regret eating the whole thing. Not because of what it would do to my insides, but because my wife loves a steak sub, and I wanted to bring her some. So I did, and she loved it too.
