We decided to give this local restaurant a try when we were looking for a brunch place. We walked in and was pleasantly greeted and seated promptly. Our drink order was taken and brought back quickly. Now to the food. After looking at the menu and deciding on chicken and waffles, we ordered. Then we waited, and continued to wait for 40 min before our food arrived to our table. Once we got the food it was average at best, definitely not anything to have to wait on for 40 min. The description on the menu said the waffles would have a spicy- maple aioli, there was nothing on top of our waffle and we were given a basic maple syrup to go with it. Which there is nothing wrong with that, but with the menu advertising we just expected different. We did try the hash brown casserole and it was tasty but a very small portion. Had high hopes from reviews. Food sounds good but wouldn't know. took 45 minutes to get food and then it was awful. Biscuits hard and cold, gravy cold (good flavor but cold) , cheese grits are just grits with shredded cheese (cold) on top and the eggs were cooked next to chorizo so not only were they cold, greasy and spicy, but it had to be the smallest egg ever. would have been two bites if it was edible. My husband's chorizo omelette was almost all chorizo grease with very little chorizo and hardly any avocado. When I returned my meal, she said she was going to take it off and then when they brought the bill, she did not have an itemized receipt to show me and I ended up paying for the meal except that she did take off the biscuits. I only know this because I did ask the head person there why the bill was so much and it was because she still charged us for the eggs and the cheese grits because she said that wasn't their fault. Walked in to the restaurant, was not told how long our wait would be to be seated nor offered if we wanted to sit at the bar. When a table was available for us, it took 10 minutes before someone actually cleaned it and took us over there and offered someone else a table that got there after us. We got our drinks at a normal speed. We ordered an appetizer french toast, and two orders of the biscuits with chocolate gravy. Which is not a hard order to fill. The table beside us was there an hour already with no food. A couple got seated after us and got their food in 15 minutes before us and the other table I mention above. We left and were not paying for the sweet tea we ordered. NEVER GOT OUR APPETIZER WHICH SHOULDVE BEEN OUT IN LIKE 10 minutes max. Our waitress came and checked on us once out of the whole hour. we were not given any update on our food not once. We had to get another waitress to get ours because she wouldnt check on us. horrible service and I will not be going back to this restaurant for a while. Our family from 4 cities (3 states) meet in Tupelo to attend our family matriarch funeral. We needed a early breakfast spot near downtown. I called ahead and asked if we needed reservations and was assured they would be ready for our party of 10. We were greeted promptly and seated to a near empty restaurant. We were served quickly and our food was all good! The two small children were treated to fruit as we waited and our coffee cups were kept full. This place should have be considered "southern style" sit down breakfast location! Not fancy, but broad menu with plenty of options for all. this was my first time and my daughter and I were celebrating my birthday. we were greeted and seated . We placed a mimosa order & our food. We were told by our server that if we didn't get our drinks to flag someone down. That should have been a red flag but anyways after sitting a talking for 20 min I was thirsty . I was in tupelo for a race and decided to swing by D'Cracked Egg for a decent breakfast. The food was decent however, we arrived when the restaurant was rather empty. Despite this, we waited over a hour for our food as others who came in after us received theirs. I was not impressed with the service and was disappointed overall with a restaurant that had high expectations. Want great food with a hearty heaping of southern charm? Look no further. I happened upon this little gem by happenstance as I was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn nearby and what a treat. The owner stopped by each table to introduce himself and learn about each guest and the waitstaff was equally engaging. The restaurant itself is adorable. Located on a side street off Main Street the building boasts original exposed brick walls paired with modern flooring and tables. It's welcoming, clean and has loads of personality. Now the food....it was 100%. The biscuit is the best I've had in over 30 years. It was a little sweet and clearly made from scratch and deserves a paragraph of praise all in its own. She hash brown casserole was heavy but hey, it's a casserole so par for the course. Bacon was crispy and hot, eggs cooked perfectly and the pancakes were light and fluffy. The only word of caution is this isn't a quick stop. It wasn't busy when I came and it still took 25 minutes to get my food. Now let me be clear, it was worth it!! I have been wanting to try this place for quite some time. Unfortunately, I rarely eat breakfast and don't think of this place. Arriving, the piece looked neat and clean, as well as not at all busy for a Saturday morning. The hostess told the twosome in front of us, and then my wife and me, that because of their having so many to-go orders, it may take 45 minutes to get out food(!). Okay, we were game. We should've left. Service, if you can call it that, is strange, slow, inattentive, and wrong. Since we were seated by the hostess, apparently she became our server. She took out drink orders, yet somehow decided my request of "just water" meant "black coffee." Later, my wife wanted a refill and needed more creamers at the table. We asked the server who was handling the tables on each side of us for the coffee and creamers. She outright refused! Now again, this was not a busy place and thru certainly weren't hustling food out the door. When my wife did get her refill, the hostess/server forgot the creamers. This, despite both the coffee and creamers being about 10 feet from our table, meaning no distractions and hardly any time to forget. My wife finally went up to get them herself from behind the bar area. When our did did arrive *60* minutes later, my wife's had burnt toast, one of 2 pancakes burnt, and cheese on her hash browns, despite specifically saying, "no," when asked if she wanted cheese on them. My meal was pretty much right, save for my, "dry wheat toast," request arriving buttered. I don't know how this business stays in business with such horrible service. (I'm guessing they get lots of one-time visitors in town for conventions and such.) Servers went every which way in the room, the place apparently allows non-stop to-go orders to overwhelm the kitchen to the point the dining-in patrons suffer, the kitchen and/or staff cannot properly take or make an order, and they only sporadically check in on the diner. Toward the end of our meal, we overheard a server approach a table and tell the party the restaurant was out of milk. Out of milk?! One of the basic liquids used at breakfast?! On a Saturday morning!? If management doesn't get this place whipped into shape on so many fronts, I don't foresee them starting in business a while lot longer. P. S. For dinner sausage reason, the menu online here on Yelp! us *way* more extensive than what we were given for dine-in. Then again, maybe they didn't want to bury the staff and kitchen even more. Will I go back? Highly doubtful. I can get better service at Huddle House--and HH won't burn toast or pancakes! A huge disappointment, to say the least. read more

Wonderful. People that work here are nice and service is great. We had the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Big Bird. Food is very good. The pancakes are a little different.. But you can tell it's made from scratch, not something poured out of a box. The egg over-easy is perfection. The sauce on the fried green tomatoes has a kick and is so yum. I wish they had a drink menu - I didn't realize until I was leaving that they have a full bar. Maybe it's not in service in the meanwhile with the COVID-19. Not sure. I would love to give this place a good review- because the food is good, except the sausage patties- which tasted like they were about to turn. Everything else is sub par. After being seated relatively quickly, we waited twenty minutes to place our order. We did not get our food for over an hour. I watched the first table ahead of us place an order, have their food arrive and finish eating before the next table ahead of us received their food. The two waitresses on staff that day were responsible for seating customers, waiting tables, making coffee/tea, bussing tables, and cashing customers out. It was awful to watch them hurrying around. I'm assuming there was probably only cook in the back based on the time it took between seeing food trays come out. Our waitress was attentive and refilled our drinks frequently. I was so full of coffee though by the time we got our food, I wasn't actually hungry anymore... I understand staffing is a challenge these days, but if this can't be improved I definitely do not recommend this establishment. My family and I will probably not be back. This was our first time going to D'Cracked Egg... we decided to go because we had heard some good things about it. I will say the food was tasty, but the experience and service was terrible. They were not very busy and had four servers running around and a manager being the host. We got seated fairly quickly but then sat for 10 minutes before anyone came to get our drink order... another 10 minutes before we got our drinks and they took our order. 25 minutes later we are sitting there with empty drinks (been empty for at least 10 minutes) so I finally got up and asked another server to refill my coffee and my wife's Dr Pepper. Finally 15-20 minutes later food started to arrive. I got the French toast and my wife got an omelette... My French toast arrived first... 10 minutes later my wife's omelette arrived. We never saw our server other than when she took our order, when she delivered our food, and when she took our money. We sat there for almost an hour before we both had food. We were never checked on for refills or to see how the food was or anything. Although, the food was tasty, we will not be back because of the lack of customer care and service... awful experience for a restaurant that appeared to be very nice. I would leave 0 stars if possible but I guess the one star is because the food was good when we finally got it, although we had to eat our meals separately because they didn't come out even close to the same time read more
