OMG! I can't give you a food rating...50 minutes after we ordered, we walked out. The service was so-so and no attention to refilling the coffee that was lukewarm or being the OJ. The restaurant was clean and nice looking but lack of service and speed of breakfast was pitiful. Unless you have plenty of time to wait, avoid this place. I hate to give bad reviews, but this one just doesn't pass the excellence test. And I was so looking forward to the Eggs Benedict. We walked out and went to Waffle House. I am a breakfast guy...and i was out and hungry. I found this jewel in Tupelo.... just off the main drag.... parking was easy.... I was greeted by the owner Gary - an awesome gent...and Angel was the server.... Both were delightful...and Angel was outstanding as a server The service was super fast. i didn't even have a chance to take 2 sips of coffee Eggs were cooked perfectly, ham was just how i like it. I tried the cheese-grit- casserole... i was really impressed I think the best part was the chocolate gravy.... the Country Gravy was perfectly seasoned and delicious...but the chocolate gravy was the perfect breakfast dessert. We walked in was told to go ahead and sit down. No menus given waited 15 minutes before someone ( the owner) came to the table to take a beverage order. Water and coffee, the coffee tasted old and lukewarm at best and tasted old. Still no waitress, so another 10 to 15 minutes goes by, she came apologizing and took our order. We sat 50 minutes and no food we were there over an hour and no food no checking on us or apology. We got up and walked out. I strongly suggest you save you time and money and go somewhere else to eat. I don't know how in the word they got four stars. I don't think I've ever had an experience like this and pray we pay more attention to the people who wrote negative things about the places they eat. What a great little spot in downtown Tupelo. I ordered D' Big Bird, which is three (3) eggs, pancakes, hash brown casserole, a sausage patty, and ham. From start to finish the service was prompt, and friendly. The atmosphere is very inviting, and we were given the option of regular table seating or high top. My brother told me about this place so I decided to pay them a visit. I was a little concerned when I walked in because it was nearly empty and it was about 9:30 on a Saturday morning. I was greeted and took my time checking out the menu because they have some great options. I ordered the D' Western Omelette it has steak, peppers and onions in it and topped with cheese with a choice of meat and bread. I got ham and a biscuit. As I waited for my food, I looked around some and noticed that they have a nice bar area and plenty of room for diners to enjoy indoors with a few outside tables available. Once I got back I tried my food and I was pleasantly surprised! My omelette was full of steak, not greasy and just enough peppers and onions as to not overwhelm everything. It was also cooked to perfection. To be fair, I didn't need any extra meat. The biscuit was also delicious it just needed a slathering of butter. I don't know who's cranking out the food but they are doing some good work over there and I'll be back!!! read more

Both of us ordered coffee along with the D' Country Biscuits and hash brown casserole. I must say, the eggs were cooked to perfection, and the homemade gravy added a delightful touch to the meal. The hash brown casserole was absolutely delicious, complementing our dishes wonderfully. The coffee was good, and the service was excellent throughout our visit. The only downside was the use of plastic utensils; I would have preferred real forks, spoons, and knives to enhance the meal. However, this minor inconvenience didn't overshadow the overall experience. In summary, I would definitely recommend this place for a hearty Southern breakfast. The food and service were top-notch, making it a spot worth visiting! Lastly a tip: the ceiling fans "get right with it" so your food may cool off quicker than you can eat it if you choose a seat directly under one of them. read more

I was visiting from California, and my daughter and I came in for breakfast. We were immediately seated. The server was the sweetest thing. I can't remember her name, but she was very attentive. The owner made rounds to check on everyone, and checked in with us twice. He was so nice and welcoming. The food was REALLY good. We had D'juevos omelet, bacon, cheese grits, and hashbrown casserole. It was the best breakfast I've had in a restaurant in YEARS. The egg was perfect, delicately cooked. The chorizo had great flavor. The cheese grits were done right. The bacon had good flavor and cooked perfectly chewy. This is a small business, they don't have a lot of staff yet, so bare with them on weekends when they get slammed. My step father really liked this place before he passed. We had taken him there twice. Service was always slow and we never received our full orders at any visit. The LAST visit was myself, my husband and another couple. We are all business owners. We came after a morning seating. There were 2 other tables seated at that time. The waitress sat us. It was clear she was UNHAPPY. we gave her a drink order. We never received our drinks. A gentleman came over when we called him a few times. He did take our order. He instructed her to get it together and put the order in. We didn't receive the food we ordered. The four plates came out 1 at a time with items missing on each plate and we didn't receive our tell the waitress. She did not return to our table. We informed the Male who took our orders in the beginning. ( he was the manager) it was the wirst service I have ever encountered. The waitress did not want to wait on us and I personally felt it was a color issue. She was attending to another table and a new 6 top that came in and did act very different to them. We had to go to the front and ask 3 times for our bill. The manager gave it to us and we informed him ( AGAIN) how terrible the service was and missing food items. He apologized and took nothing off the bill. We paid $85.xx and left no tip. I will never recommend any Anglo person to patronize this establishment because of our treatment and another table that we witnessed treated the same by this waitress. read more

I'll start our experience in reverse because the people (Gary & Yolanda) made our visit as much as the food (but man, the grit casserole & hash brown casseroles were amazing!). Throughout our breakfast Gary was on-point, "need more coffee", "how is everything", "what brings you to Tupelo (yep Elvis)", "where are your from". Then we just keep eating and talk'in, Yolanda 'Yo', comes into the mix and is is funny and friendly, the hospitality and service is great. We really hit it off with them both, if we're ever back in Tupelo these people would be the reason, we'd love to have a nice family BBQ with them. We wrapped up some leftovers for our dog and Gary brings out a few sausage patties to top it off, this guy is first-class. Now on to the food, we has some 'standard fair' in pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, all was really good. But if you're here try some of the non-standards, everything they put their signature on is amazing, the casserole's were WOW! We read the other reviews and thought we'd give it a try (we originally had planned to go to Brick and Spoon). It has potential, but is poorly executed. It appeared to have outdoor seating (four tables and two chairs) and we asked if we could sit outside. The hostess/waitress asked if we could take chairs outside asked and the reply was "no". My wife wanted a dish with biscuits to which we were told they had run out Mother's Day weekend and they're on back order (so they must be using canned/frozen biscuits ). My coffee was lukewarm and I had to ask for my one refill. One of my wife's pancakes was burnt and they forgot to put the jalapeños in my omelet like I asked and then brought 4-5 cold pickled jalapeños in a plastic cup after I had already been eating it. The main lady didn't ask how our food was because I'm sure she's used to the quiet reactions and facial expressions of dissatisfied customers. I gave the lowest tip available on the card reader outside of a custom tip of $1. The people weren't mean or anything, but there's not much love going into the food or interactions at this place. I felt a little bit like we were a bother to them. My advice is to go somewhere else. I'll be surprised if this place is open by our next trip to Tupelo read more
