Cute local coffee shop offering coffee, tea, pastries and a nice vibe. As I drove towards the drive thru I noticed the outdoor seating and the decor inside. So I'll definitely return on a Sunday when I have time to dine in. I ordered a British Squirrel which has hazelnut and english toffee. They also put two pieces of what I think are flavored coffee beans on the lid of your cup for extra flavoring. I thought it was vanilla until I noticed I had to chew it. I think its coffee beans. I came here wanting something other than black coffee, but unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to expectations. It was just a few days before Christmas, and it seemed like the staff wasn't really in the mood to be there. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and a hot chocolate. Both were decent, though they tasted like they were made in a hurry, not the smooth, crafted drinks I was hoping for. We had seen online that they offered food, but when I went in, they were out of everything--yes, everything. There was literally ONE muffin available for sale. Maybe they sold out before 9 AM, which is possible, or maybe they didn't restock since it was so close to Christmas. Given the lack of customers when I was there, I'm leaning toward the latter. With so many other coffee spots in Tupelo offering more options and a better vibe, I'm not sure I'll be returning here anytime soon. read more

I think Strange brew is solid. The indoor is really bright, so if you are going for that library vibe to study or work, don't bank on it. I got the Albino Squirrel. It was solid. I loved the touch of having the chocolate covered coffee bean on top. I had to ask which drink was which, would be nice to have a label. Wanted to get a pastry but nothing caught my eye in the case. They just had muffins. Would be nice to have some variety. Would have maybe got a seasonal coffee, but everything had peppermint in it. They could use some variety. All in all a decent coffee shop, and I always support local over chains, but I just felt it was missing creative drinks that you find at some coffee shops. Will try another place next time rolling through Tupelo. read more

The vibe is cozy with lots of natural light and plenty of spots to sit with a laptop or just hang out. The coffee is really good. I get a Gosh Almighty frappe with English Toffee and it is the perfect balance of flavors. It tasted like how the inside of a Hobby Lobby smells which I love. I also love their sausage balls and egg bites. They are delicious! The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. Orders came out quick. read more

Cute little coffee shop in Tulepo. We were just passing through and thought we'd try someplace local. They have many fun latte offerings, frozen drinks too, and offer all the milk and milk alternative choices. My latte (the rainy day) was a little too sweet for me, so if I were to return I'd ask for less syrup. Overall worth the visit though. read more

The coffee was definitely good and this coffeehouse is a welcome addition to the Tupelo, Mississippi area. Cool name and location making good use of space in a neighborhood in the downtown area and it's not Starbucks...so, local, great options for coffee or tea with cool names of the drinks and snacks. They were busy with the drive thru but were still able to take walk-in orders and there was seating. Looking forward to going back to try another mix! read more

Cool little coffee joint! We stayed overnight in town during a cross country trip and went in for some coffee as soon as they opened. I doubt the food in the cooler was very fresh, but the beverages we got were good! Service was good as well; the staff was friendly and patient with us as we browsed the entire menu and asked a few questions. read more

I tried this while in Mississippi visiting family because my dad raved about this place and even had there coffee at home and I tried it with him at home and it was good. But at the store I tried what says is their signature latte and it tasted like straight milk literally I tried a cinnamon roll and it was just hard. When I first pulled in my instant reaction was, "Wow! This looks like a cool spot!" It was exactly that. An old gas station turned to coffee shop. Lots of natural light and room to work or study. Then comes the menu, with plenty of options and combinations to make it your own. The employees were very welcoming and helpful as well. The baristas here actually don't know how to make coffee. I ordered an iced latte and they served me a cup of iced milk with some cold brew in it. When I inquired what I'd been given since my latte didn't seem to have any espresso in it, they proudly told me they make their lattes with cold brew instead of espresso and then proceeded to argue that that was how everyone makes them. I was pretty shook at the lack of basic knowledge from a place that claims to be a coffee shop. Eventually a different employee stepped up and said she could make it with espresso after the first girl tried to charge me again to make a new latte. read more

Be careful to not miss it if you drive past too quickly as it's kind of a low-profile building. Looks like it was originally a gas station that has been converted into an eclectic and friendly place for great coffee and crave-worthy baked goods. Marble mocha was really good. Even with no whip cream, it had just enough mocha to give a little touch of sweet without a gathering of syrup in the bottom of the cup like many places tend to have. Apple cinnamon scone. The only reason I am knocking then a star is because there were a lot of people inside not wearing masks and the business didn't enforce the ordinance that requires you to wear a mask. I haven't been inside in a few months, but I used to love working on the blue velvet couch. Great set up for groups and cutie child sized tables with kids books and such. Love the mug collection - always perfect for a thoughtful gift if you've got a tea or coffee lover in your life. The two window drive thru system is pretty efficient. My most recent new fav is the hot chocolate with cayenne and cinnamon, add a shot of espresso. They'll add whipped cream to anything you want. Can't complain. read more

Drinks were absolutely to die for! The frozen triple hot chocolate is one of the best drinks I have ever had and I normally hate cold hot chocolate. Unfortunately the pastries let them down a bit as the donut was dry and the pop tart was fine but nothing amazing. However, the drinks would bring me back to this business again and again if I'm ever in the area once more. It's a most go! This is one of those places that might be called a hidden gem. It's not a chain (at least I don't think it is), that appears to operate out of a former service station. It's not polished like one of the big-name coffee places, but it has the decor and appeal that only a community hangout can have. That alone would be enough to give this place five stars in my book, but what makes it even better is that the coffee is outstanding, with more varieties of specialty drinks than most of the chain coffee houses have. They also offer a nice selection of treats, including vegan, paleo, and gluten-free sweets. If you're in Tupelo of a morning, it's worth the drive to find Strange Brew. read more

I love Strange Brew. I have stopped by there every Friday for probably 5-6 years to get coffee and a scone. When I stopped by this morning around 9:15, they had no scones. They were not making any new ones. There were no muffins or any breakfast baked goods. This is not the first time this has been the case. This is hurting business at the Tupelo location. I left and went somewhere else today. I had to settle for a bland scone from somewhere else. I really hope improvements are made at Brewpelo so it can be open for years to come. read more

This place was a great find. We were staying out near Barnes Crossing, so in the interest of time did Starbucks each morning, but both afternoons we went to Strange Brew. Night and day: Starbucks institutional, pre-packaged croissants, served the purpose; Strange Brew funky, fresh, personality, great vibe. We do love local coffeehouses when they are done right, and Strange Brew has all the very best elements of local coffeehouses. Service is great, people are friendly, and the coffee is exceptionally flavorful. Drive through is very easy, but the interior space is very special. read more

Very disappointed in this place. First of all, the service was a little slow. We also got four cookies (chocolate chip and oatmeal cream pies w/ 2 of each) and they were very tasty. However, the coffee was not up to par at all. The first iced vanilla latte with whole milk was straight up milk with no coffee taste and barely any vanilla tasted. The second iced vanilla latte was with almond milk and whipped cream and tasted more like a milkshake than any coffee we've had before. Very below par for our long road trip. We also got a mocha and it was very subpar as well. Nothing special with the coffee and still a bit too much milk. If you're looking for the milkiest taste ever, go here. Otherwise, would not recommend if you are looking for real coffee (though the cookies were good hence the two stars and not one). read more
