I had potato soup and grilled cheese and my husband had the tuna! Wonderful! Peanut butter cookie for dessert was so good! Very happy we ate there. While visiting relatives in Tupelo I stumbled upon this great little Cafe! Order at the counter and they will call you by name when ready. My steak and cheese sandwich was grilled to perfection and was served piping hot. The potato salad was deliciously seasoned and the dessert was worthy of any Georgia cafe. This soup and sandwich spot in downtown Tupelo really exceeded our expectations at lunch today. I loved the wheat berry bread and potato soup especially. Their chicken salad was simplicity at its finest. We came in right at lunchtime and the service was fast and efficient. So we had time to grab a coffee also. A nice little gem on Main St! I had a brief stop in Tupelo, my first time in this town, and Cafe 212 is a nice little lunch spot. Homemade soups, chicken salad and twists on classic sandwiches hit the spot! They have a great combo with half a sandwich, cup of soup, choice of side and a cookie! Cutest little hidden gem! I've you've ever had the opportunity to pop in to 212 you know first-hand that the owners are 2 of the hardest working in the building! So simple, yet sooooo good! I only had the coffee here and it was great! I had a latte. Usually people add too much syrup so you lose the flavor of the coffee but not here. It was very good nice place to hang out and drink coffee. read more

We stopped in for lunch after seeing good reviews from other diners. It is a small congested spot and as we stood four deep in line more folks steadily came in the entire time we were there. The staff is friendly, dedicated to fast service and generous portions. My husband had a savory chicken salad on wheat berry and I had the sampler, a scoop of tuna, white pimento cheese and apple honey nut chicken salad served on lettuce with crackers. On impulse I added a cinnamon roll and it turned out to be a very delicious decision. Husband said the bread was fresh and very good. We'll be back! read more

This is a great little local spot for lunch. It is set up like a coffee house with a lunch counter in the front. Being a casual Tupelo visitor and MS native, I had to have the Blue Suede Grill, a grilled peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwich on wheat berry bread. OMG- delicious! Better than my dad makes. I also had the potato salad, which was outstanding. People spoke highly of the chicken salad, and they sold out of their chicken casserole early in the lunch hour. The place was hopping, but the staff couldn't have been friendlier to locals and visitors alike. It's a great little spot for lunch, but seems to be a coffee house the rest of the day. There are lots of little tables and a few sofas and chairs for working. Overall, I loved this place. 5-stars. read more

That is a great place to eat! As mentioned in many of the posts, the owners are definitely hard-working, with them dishing it up as fast as they are able. The portions were plentiful, but not too much, and and I was in love with their zesty tomato soup! They gave a cookie with everything, I think, although it really didn't matter because I certainly enjoyed the one that came with my meal! I have been eating here as long as I have been working downtown (8 years) and I LOVE IT! The owners are super friendly, and have a very competent and polite staff. The Cafe is decorated in bright colors, with local artwork adorning the walls. As far as food goes, I've never had potato soup or sweet chicken salad like Amanda and Jason make it. SO DELISH! Also, the peanut butter chocolate chip pie is perfect if you're looking for a treat. They do get busy during lunch, so call ahead for to-go orders. They will always tell you how long of a wait you are looking at before you place your order. read more

I popped in here for lunch one day while being in Tupelo for a conference and boy was I glad I met local who told me about it. They serve simple sandwiches and it was tasty! This is a no frills cafe but super cute! I really, really love Café 212. The food is great and just a bit different from your usual soup and sandwich shop, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh and great quality. I am always impressed by how extremely clean Café 212 is. The place gets a lot of traffic, but somehow the employees manage to keep it virtually spotless. The employees are really friendly too, even though they stay busy. The one and only reason I can't give 212 five stars is because the configuration of the café is so tight. Unless you sit in a booth or in the back, you can pretty much expect to eat your lunch with people invading your personal space. There's not much the management can do about that, but it is annoying to sit at a table with the order line snaking around you. Otherwise, this place is awesome! read more

This is surely the best cafe in Tupelo, as evidenced by the quality of the food, the sparkling cleanliness of the cafe and kitchen, the quantity and loyalty of customers, the dedication of the owners and employees (very little employee turnover at this cafe), and the sterling reputation 212 has earned over the years. The food is fresh, and there's an impressive variety of sandwiches. My personal favorites are the savory tuna salad, the potato soup, and the Friday special, Mama's Chicken Casserole. To use a well-worn cliche, the food is made with love, and it shows. Maybe a sandwich/soup/salad cafe and coffee shop doesn't immediately pique everyone's interest, but Cafe 212 really is special. The driving force behind it is the owners' pride in their place and their product, and their devotion to making downtown -- and Tupelo in general -- a better place. Jason and Amanda Hayden are two of the hardest-working, smartest, most ethical, most community-minded people I've ever seen, and all of that contributes to the unique energy of 212. A couple of other reviews contained complaints about what might be perceived as "attitude" from one of the owners. I'd urge those reviewers to go back to Cafe 212 and just observe this owner in action. It's not attitude. It's really just pride in the restaurant, determination to be the best every single day, and focus. The focus in particular is what keep this well-oiled machine running. and when you step back and observe the amount of food produced at a rapid-fire pace with just four or five employees, including the coffee shop, it's all actually quite astounding. read more

Good lunch date spot. Good sandwiches everything reasonably priced . Even have some good pies. I try something new here and there . My favorite panini is some like it hot. Tried their potato salad last time, great . U would get the fruit , but feel like the portions are small but that is my only compliant . I would recommend eating here for lunch vs breakfast if I had to pick . The people are really nice too . Great local spot in the heart of downtown Tupelo. I forget the name of the sandwich that I ordered but it was spicy, delicious and on pumpernickel bread. I chose the heath bar cookie and added a cup of zesty tomato soup, both of which were delicious. It's a cozy spot with local art and a pretty cheap coffee bar too.
