$46 for three people to eat, so I'd say a bit high on price considering it's only sandwiches and salads. Used to have bread sticks and other garnishments on the table at the door. It's now been reduced to saltines and hot sauce. Got a sandwich that was supposed to be wheat bread but got white bread and was told this location only carry's white bread now. Mediocre to bad service. Girl upfront could care less. No smiling faces. Ambiance the same. This was a great place years ago but has gone steeply downhill. We were traveling thru Missouri and decided to try Newks. We had never heard of it before. The place was bright, clean and neat. The folks were attentive and especially helpful with their menu. I decided on an Italian Sub and my spouse had a "Newks Special Salad"?. Both were served to us fast and fresh. Both choices were impressive and really tasty. They didn't skimp on ingredients or quantity...delicious! This is an awesome place to get great food! We plan to visit next time we find one in our travels. A must try place for sure! read more

This place was busy for lunch, but they kept everything moving. I got the Green Goddess salad. It was great! Could have had a little more chicken maybe, but everything else worked really well. I'm glad there is a Newk's here because there is no Panera Bread or Chipotle so eating fast healthy food is a challenge. Newk's is good but on the pricey side. They have excellent salads, sandwiches, soups and pizza but be prepared to spend money. I ordered a bowl of soup last night and spend close to $9.00 and three days ago I ordered two sandwiches and a salad and it totaled to $34.00 and some change. Unfortunately this town has lots of fast food chain restaurants and high fat local restaurants like barbecue or down home cooking. If you want to attempt to eat healthy Newk's is going to be one of a few limited options here. read more

Wonderful service tonight. I had a call in order which was ready within 10 minutes of placing the order. Had it ready for me when I arrived. Staff was courteous and friendly. Had it not been for the storms tonight, we would have eaten in. Love the consistency of service and fine food from Newk's. Definitely a favorite of mine and the family. read more

I believe this place fills the void of no Panera in Tupelo. I ordered a "pairing" with a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and a side of Pimiento Bacon Mac & Cheese. The soup was lukewarm but had a great flavor. The macaroni and cheese was ice cold but had an excellent flavor. In hindsight I should have taken both these items back up to the counter and just asked to have them reheated but I was concerned about doing that at this type of place. This place was super busy and clean and the menu choices were quite plentiful. I noticed a help yourself condiment bar on the way out and I was quite intrigued. There were bottles of cholula and sriracha and all kinds of peppers and things to add to your food. It was quite nice and I wish I had noticed it before I ate. I would certainly give it another shot at lunch time if I was near one. read more

Newk's was best when it first opened, but in the last six months the food has begun to be inconsistent. Sandwiches frequently are not made with everything they should include. For example, the grilled steak should have grilled onions and horseradish spread, but the last three times I have ordered that sandwich, it had neither of those ingredients. The chicken tortilla soup is another example. More often than not the kitchen leaves off a spoonful of sour cream and tortilla strips to garnish the soup. Those actually add a lot of flavor to the soup and should be there. The Debra pizza is consistently good, as are the salads. read more

What can I say. I am a sucker for roasted garlic and at Newk's you can get all the sweet soft roasted garlic you want from the complimentary condiment table. Put it on sandwiches, pizza, or just pop a few into your mouth. Whoever came up with Newk's condiment table is a genius, it really sets it apart from the other sandwich shops. The sandwiches are pretty good and reasonably priced too. I would rate it 3.5 stars alone. In the land of Applebees, Olive Garden, and a slew of joints that serve greasy Southern fares, Newk's seems like a good choice. read more

Good sandwiches and very consistent, however the salads are a hit or miss. Often they put to much dressing on the salad and when asked for the dressing on the side they thought I wanted extra dressing on the side, in addtion to the overly wet from dressing salad they served me. I love a the Greek salad here but this time they skimped on the feta, and olives. Good stuff, but just not consistent with the salads so if you want a safe bet... always go with the Sandwich. read more

When travelling to MS, Newks has always been a stop for a good salad and a lot of Ice Tea. The staff is friendly and efficient. My family enjoys eating at Newk's regularly, and they provide consistently good service. They have a nice patio out back and an overall pleasing atmosphere. I like most of their food since it is fresh and healthy. However, they offer a wide variety of dishes and drinks (including alcohol). If you like pizzas, try the Mediterranean. read more

We always stop at News's for lunch on the way to Montgomery. We love the pepperoni pizza and side salad - simply salad. While eating with my second second daughter today, 2/14/18, I was having an Italian sandwich. After about the third bite or so, I felt something in my mouth that most certainly was NOT part of the sandwich. I spit it out and it turned out to be a bread bag tab! You know, the little tab things that come on some loves of bread..well, I went to the counter and presented my napkin full of half eaten Italian sandwich and the bread tab. The two, very nice young ladies,Immediately called the manager over. I could tell he was not happy to have them call him over. He had this terrible look of disappointment on his face. Sure enough, he was not happy. I presented him with my napkin full of sandwich and bread tab and he looked at me a and said can I get you something else? I replied no, I just wanted you to be aware that one of your sandwiches had a bread tab in it. His reply was thank you, what kind of sandwich was that? I said Italian and he said ok, thanks for showing me. Then he walked away to the back. I returned to my seat and did not, by the way, finish the sandwich. I can tell you that manager never offered to take care of my sandwich or anything else. One would think he would have at least offered to refund the cost of the meal. I'm no restaurant owner or manager, but I do know customer service. That manager should have done more that he did to rectify this situation. I will be very reluctant to ever eat at this Newk's, or any other Newk's for that matter, again. read more

I eat here pretty much once a week. I love the sandwiches. The newks Q and the chicken sandwich are my go to meals. The cesar salad is probably the best in town, note that most people can't eat a whole salad from newks they are huge. It can be very busy at lunch so make sure you see some open seats before you order. If you come for supper you will rarely find a crowd. read more

By far the best Sandwich place in Tupelo. They also have some of the best soups and pizzas. I eat the Newk's Club when I go, and it is awesome. My girlfriend tries a new item every time we go and she has not complained about a single one. Newk's is always very clean and service is good. They serve beer and wine. Its nice to have the option for a beer with your meal at night. Friends of mine keep telling me to try the Newks Q. I will get it next time I go. Prices are very reasonable. This place was pretty disappointing when compared with other sandwich chains we have tried out west (kneaders, paradise, cafe zupas, panera, etc). My husband and I both felt really ripped off. The French bread on out sandwiches was really light and dry. It didn't seem to have any substance. The choices were pretty boring and the serving sizes were so stingy. My side salad was good, but my husbands Mac and cheese barely covered the bottom of the bowl. It was almost laughable. There was barely three mouthfuls in there!!! I love eating at Newk's any day of the week, but my favorite day to eat there is Friday because of the chicken tortilla soup. All the pizza's are sublime, but my personal favorite is the BBQ chicken pizza. Again all of the sandwiches are absolutely delicious but I would recommend the Newk's Q. Also if you're looking for some comfort food, try the four cheese mac-n-cheese. Trust me you won't regret it. It has a very warm, friendly environment and affordable prices.
