The marble rye bread was buttered & toasted to a perfect crisp, the sandwich wasn't "soggy" & had the perfect amount of thousand island dressing & sauerkraut on it along with plenty of corned beef! Very tasty & fulfilling. Also had chips & their own homemade pasta salad for our sides. A friendly staff & our food was prepared/order fulfilled in a timely manner. I've had lunch at the restaurant once and have been to a catered brunch and a catered lunch. I am just not a fan. At the restaurant, I had the vegetable plate. I found most of them overcooked and mushy and none of it was particularly flavorful. I much prefer Romies or Aunt Bees here in town, both of which do southern veggies more to my taste. For the brunch, I had a flavorless quiche. I'm not particularly a quiche fan, but I can enjoy it if it has a lot of green and is appropriately seasoned. But this was just like eating a big bland egg and I abandoned it after a couple of bites. The tiny little biscuits were unremarkable and the bacon was just thin grocery store variety. The lunch chicken salad sandwich was just as bland - all I could taste was mayo. I'm sure it's great for some people. Their presentation is very kitschy and cute and appealing to the cucumber sandwich crowd, I'm sure. I'm just not the intended audience. read more

It was an amazing little stop driving home from Florida. The staff was so sweet and caring and the food was delicious too. That Fried Green Tomato BLT is one of the best things we ate on the entire trip. I had the veggie plate and it was delicious too. The desserts were all amazing, I couldn't decide so they gave me a small slice of two different cakes to try - Strawberry and Italian Creme and they were both delicious, but I think the strawberry was the slight winner. read more

The staff are all friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is very relaxing & comfortable. Ate here a couple days ago. Neat atmosphere, but the lunching ladies there were somewhat pretentious. Anyway, i ordered "Momma's Famous Chicken Salad" sandwich. It was NOT good. First of all it was supposed to have grapes in it and sliced almonds. It did not. There were 3 or 4 grapes on the side. No almonds. The chicken salad itself tasted like the kind you get in a tub from the grocery store - like Mrs. Weaver's or something like that. After the 1st bite, I took another to see if I was right. I was. Yuck. Most definitely not homemade. Also had pasta salad as a side. Asked the snooty lady taking my order if it was creamy or vinegar based. She got a really confused look on her face and said she's never heard of a creamy pasta salad. I said "uh, made with mayo?" She said , with her nose in the air like she was Queen Elizabeth or something, "oh no it's with Italian dressing." Who has never heard of a pasta salad made with mayo?? In the South!! Well I got the apparently much superior pasta salad with the La de da Italian dressing. Not good. Hard to believe this place has 5 stars. Definitely won't be back. read more

Good lunch options and service was good. A lot of locals seemed to be there and it is in the back of a shopping building. I had the daily special and it was good. Wow. Very disillusioned with all the glowing ratings and comments. We must've hit them on a bad day??? A reallly bad day???? We're not from Tupelo but traveled there for a doctor's appointment. We found ST&Biscuits because we were looking for a place with homemade frozen take home meals. When you enter, you order at the counter. Numerous people walked past us before someone finally came to take our order. Then the Twilight Zone began. She just stared at us like 'what're you doing here?' We spoke up and said we were there for lunch. I ordered a ham sandwich with fried green tomato on it which amazed her because the fried green tomatoes aren't listed on ham sandwiches but is on others. My sister ordered a chicken salad sandwich with pasta salad side. We asked if the pasta salad was oil and vinegar or cream based. We were informed that there's no such thing as a cream based macaroni salad..... and I said 'ummmmm mayonnaise or ranch dressing?' Again, we were in the Twilight Zone. Food: The homemade chicken salad with almonds and grapes had no almonds and had no grapes. It was seriously out of a bucket the must've said Mrs. Weavers on it except not that good. The ham in the ham sandwich was the only half decent thing. The toasted bread crumbled into a gazillion pieces and it was really dry. Then we got two slivers of undercooked buttermilk pie for $10. And the casseroles to go??? Nope- only cakes that were out of this world ridiculous expensive. I could go on and on. Rude staff and bad food. I haven't ever had a bad meal here. Veggies are fresh not from a can. Any meat is seasoned well and tender. You will think you are in your mom or grandmother's kitchen. I also used them for a catering a few weeks ago, and they knocked it out of the park. Daily specials are posted on their Facebook daily, but anything on the menu is delicious. I have to tell you. This is one the coolest places I have ever stopped. We were passing through on the way to Florida. A BBQ place and Sweet Tea and Biscuits popped up. Sweet Tea looked really good. And I'm so glad we did it. It is a very cool consignment store full of little shopping booths. In the back a restaurant with many cool homelike tables. Menu is homemade chicken salad, pimento cheese, etc. Today there was a homemade tomato BLT. It was awesome. The buttermilk pie was warm and delicious. And the sweet tea..Awesome. An amazing little cafe that you need to find and enjoy! It is a little off the beated path, but well worth the visit. Today we enjoyed an amazing vegetable plate with purple hull peas, turnip greens, mac & cheese, and seven-layer salad complemented with a fresh cornbread muffin. My father had the vegetable beef soup with a half sandwich (he choose the delicious fried green tomato BLT). No room for the homemade desserts on this trip, but we will be back! read more

My husband and I stopped in for lunch while in town staying at the campground down the road. I had seen this quaint little place on the travel channel and by pure accident we happened to add Tupelo to one of our stops! So glad we did - the food here was excellent; fresh, made to order, and the people who work here treat you like you are not a stranger! We had the famous momma's chicken salad, the club sandwich, the chocolate-chocolate cake and strawberry cake and everything we had was just beyond delicious! Highly recommend and make sure you stroll through the quaint little shops inside the place while you are there! I get what they are trying to do here. It's a little cafe spread out across a home decor store with lots of grey haired classy white ladies as their patrons. There was even a table playing bridge! Unfortunately, the food was mostly just gross. I got their chicken pot pie lunch special and it was a soggy biscuit dough and the potatoes and carrots were raw and crunchy. Needed salt and herbs and it was cold. They actually have a congealed salad, I sure didn't order it but I got one by mistake. It was like nursing home food...can you even make congealed salad taste good? My friend got the pimento cheese fried green tomato sandwich. The pimento cheese was gooey and mostly mayo so when it warmed up it just turned to grease. The tomatoes were ok and at least were cooked fresh. Their tiny little biscuits which is the namesake were ok, nothing to write home about. The sweet tea was also fine, brewed strong and not too sweet. It was an odd experience being among the bric-a-brac and there was some beautiful original artwork. Go to poke around the store, not for the food! read more

Cute lunch spot located in a unique venue. We walked through the antique/ craft market to sit at something like my grandmas kitchen table. This place was amazing!!! I am from Californian and my husband and his family are from Mississippi and Alabama. This was the most perfect stop for a good Southern meal for everyone. My husband is a pescatarian but from the South - even he found something that was exceptionally good to eat. Wish we could've tried everything there but alas, on to Florence, AL to see my MIL who turned 100!!! Will be back next time we're in the area. And as others have mentioned the store is also a great place to find local merchandise to bring home to California!! read more
