Ever heard of "Kitchen Nightmares" well we had the opportunity to experience our very own at this place. The atmosphere was definitely not what the ads make you think and the employees could use some training on professionalism.
Trying to look beyond that we found a seat and ordered our meals. We ordered the Lasagna w/Minestrone soup and the Pesto Pasta (added alittle cream w/Rigatone noodle) w/salad and a couple of glasses of wine. We received the bread which we thought was ok at the time and the we received the soup & salad. Soup was not done yet the veges were still hard and the salad was alittle drenched in dressing. We then got our entrees. By the way, they had a open kitchen for all to see. The Lasagna was piping hot with an excessive amount of cheese (wheres the beef) and the Pesto pasta came with cork screw pasta and very dry. I then got alittle distracted watching what I thought was the Chef. It looked as though he was training because the man watching him never moved his position for at least 30 mins constantly chewing gum (in the kitchen) I then witnessed the Chef ( Miso Aurelio) scooping pasta out of a large container into a cup with his gloved hand and then the next scoop went into his mouth!! Yes and this went on 3 consecutive times, one for the cup and one for his mouth, I was so stunned I sat there literally stuck. Then I witnessed him transferring the bread with his other un-gloved hand which who knows where that hand had been because in all this time I never once saw him wash his hands. I was now so appauled and was trying to tell my husband. Let me add our waitress not once came by to ask how anything was. My husband then flagged down the older employee in the group to ask for more sauce for my dry pasta and I was still speechless, She then came to bring it to me and I couldn't help myself but to express what I had been witnessing. She kinda laughed when I told her about the Chef and made the comment that "he only had a week left and that he was training the Gum Chewing guy. Then she went to "Pow Wow" with the other employees except the Chef. Our original waitress then came to apologize and tell us how embarrassed she was and appauld. She comped our whole bill.
My main point I want to make is just because the food looks good, careful who's salaiva you will be swapping. That Chef was so disgusting and very unsanitary and he was training, think of the example he has shown and what they allow in their kitchen. Oh did I mention the guy that came into the kitchen to change the fire extinguisher in the middle of dinner preparation and pull out his ladder and climbs up to change this large extinguisher over the food preparation area which was expired, thank God our food was already on the table, it that counts for anything read more
