I didnt love it. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. We got thin crust, medium sauce and cheese. Maybe I should have had light sauce. The pizza was soggy and I didnt like all the cheese on TOP of the toppings. To me, thats just wrong. I did enjoy the creamy italian dressing on the salad. I did think the prices were too high. 7.00 for a dinner salad is a lot. Staff was very friendly and nice. I wish I ordered differently. read more

I have two teenage boys who only ate half a large, very unusual! I would recommend thin crust pizza as the thick was way too much dough (still tasty, too much bread). Too much hype surrounding this place! We heard great things, and the wait was over 30 minutes, outside, in 30 degree weather... but we were severely disappointed once we made it to our seat. Service was so-so, but the food was bad. Not below average or okay, BAD. I got the shrimp pasta, and it tasted very fishy. Their specialty is pizza, so maybe we should have stuck to that, but we went for an authentic italian dinner, which they claimed to serve. We didn't get it. Won't be going back. read more

One thinks that either those who use excessive superlatives to rave about a restaurant (especially without adequate detail) is either a ten year old, or an accomplice of the restaurateur, otherwise, I cannot understand why this place has so many fans. For context: I am a middle-aged male (with accompanying friend); sophisticated diner, yes, but one who assesses the restaurant according to its price point and the level of quality at which it sells itself. I wasn't looking for great, only good. Well, that's not totally true: my hopes were up based on Yelp reviews. Service: nice, friendly, sufficiently quick and attentive, but not used to more than the usual friendly locals, it seems. Atmosphere: what you'd expect of a local Italian restaurant, though a bit too noisy. We looked at the menu and quickly agreed that the shrimp pasta dish (on the menu, at least) looked good. Looking at the size of other portions, we split the order. We brought our own wine. As I sat down and handed the wine to the waitress, I asked if she had a decanter and she said yes. (Oh good, I thought.) When I returned from the restroom minutes later, the wine had been poured. In a shallow wine glass. To the brim. If you don't know why that's a problem, you might enjoy it here. I shrugged and we awaited the salad. Salad-in-a-bag arrived quickly. With 33 croutons and a quarter cup of shredded cheese on top. I removed both. Salad and house dressing were neither especially good or bad. When the pasta came, we were aghast. The serving was very large. The rotelli was in a soup of water as if it had not been properly drained. There was an excess of parmesan on top. I portioned out two small portions and we tried it. Pasta was way overcooked and appeared and tasted as if it had been sitting in water in the back for some time. Shrimp was edible, but also a bit overcooked. Taste for both (despite my having asked for extra garlic) was bland and flavorless. We did not eat the pasta, but dug out the shrimp. Still being hungry, we tried the bread. We had been given a large basket and it was fresh (though not warm) and smelled good. It tasted fine. It was fine; it just wasn't something I would buy or eat a second piece of. We each had a half slice (or less) of bread. Price: Not bad considering we only had one plate between us. Overall, it seems a place that quantity is king. Perhaps their pizzas are great. It is unfortunately one of the less positive experiences I have had in a restaurant in many years. read more

It was OK... Food wasn't very "spicy". There were at least 4 groups of people waiting for a table with at least two open tables waiting for customers and despite this (and the fact people near the door were annoyed) they sure weren't in a hurry to seat anyone. My wife and I both ordered 1/2 orders, but were given full orders (and charged for them). She had the spinach ravioli and I had spaghetti with meatballs. The meatballs were good, but the sauce didn't make me want to finish my meal once they were gone. read more

We come here every time we are in Ft. Bragg and have never been disappointed in either the food or the service. Their homemade bread is delicious and generously sized. The pizza is heavenly. LOVE this quaint pizza place! D'Aurelios' is tucked away just off Main, but well worth going to! Pizza was made to order perfectly and arrived at our table pipping hot! YUMMMY! More amazing that the food was the staff. The kitchen and kitchen staff are in full view of the guests, and were working like crazy to accommodate their seated guests as well as all their phone orders. The wait staff worked together helping each other. It was amazing to watch! The next time we are in Fort Bragg we will be eating at D'Aurelios again! read more

So this place is amazing. Came up from Chico. We found this place on accident. Glad we stopped in. The staff is amazing. Annnalee( hope I got the spelling right) there was a wait but she was so assuring and made me feel comfortable. The portions were more then I expected. The price was good. RD'Aurelios is the best Italian food in Fort Bragg - or Mendocino County for that matter. They have wonderful pastas, pizzas, homemade bread and large salads. My personal preference is the OGP - Olive Garlic Parmesan Pasta with Rotini Noodles. Salad or soup (Minestrone) and bread come with your meal. Many people just go in to buy a loaf of their bread, it is fresh baked and delicious! You are talking to a Carb fiend. Don't listen to the bad reviews, the food is great and the waitresses have been their for years. They are only open from dinner, they open at 5:00pm. read more

My son and I went to D'Aurelios today for dinner and we were in for a treat. The clam chowder was thick and delicious. We also ordered the Meat Lovers pizza and it was wonderful. But the complimentary bread was the best part of the meal. They even let the kid take a few pieces home so he can make a few sandwiches with it. The garlic bread tastes like they rubbed roasted pieces of garlic on it and the thick pizza crust is crispy but thick and flavorful! All Italian chefs need to take a lession from this chef. This chef makes fresh all the foods he serves. The pasta and topping whether Mariana or pesto are delicious. The pizza dough and bread are out of this world. Some bakers need to visit this chef. We have eaten food all over the world and dined at five star restaurants but none of them can compete with this small restaurant. You need to get there early or you will have a wait. Probably the best pizza i have had. I have eaten pizza in Chicago and several local pizzerias and have not been so impressed. The place is nice and tucked away of the beaten path. It doesn't open till five which was frustrating the first time we tried to eat there but the food highlight of our mini four day vacation. I suggest stopping by.
