Amazing food! So amazing that I would go through all the intense stares again. Lol I am not white. The glares I got walking in back of my husband were so intense. I am from Hawaii so this was the first time I felt that type of energy. But I get it, my husband had to deal with that type of welcoming for years in Hawaii. However! Hole-in-the wall family style Italian restaurant! Very family friendly and popular with locals and tourists a like. The bread here is so delicious and the waitresses are super-friendly. When you order pizza you have a ton of choices: thin/thick crust, liight/medium/heavy sauce and cheese and you even can pick to have toppings over or under the cheese! We had plain 'ol pepperoni on thick crust with light sauce (I was in heaven as I hate too much pizza sauce). Don't worry you will get too much food...everyone leaves with a doggie bag! We searched through Yelp for a place to eat dinner in Ft Bragg. Many of the restaurants had bad reviews or were too expensive. We decided on D'Aurelios since it had the most consistent reviews. It is a smallish place that is very popular with locals. Everyone seemed to know each other and the entire staff. The menu is not very extensive but there is enough to choose from. We were served a bowl of their homemade bread with butter. Mr Rinky is not fond of white bread but we managed to polish it off. We shared a house salad (made with iceberg lettuce), a bowl of minestrone soup (it was ok) an order of pasta with marinara. The pasta came with vegetables---freshly steamed broccoli, carrots--plain but good Garlic bread--with butter and garlic. I only ate 1 slice. I took the remaining slices home and toasted them...oh yum! The staff is very friendly. I loved the feeling that it was a locals hang out. read more

Anyone who gives this place a 1 star review is an a-hole, and should go back to whatever crappy city they came from. I have been coming here since I was a toddler (seriously), and this restaurant continues to be the highlight of my north coast trips. They are always very friendly and family oriented, their portions are enormous and they probably put too much cheese on everything, but who can complain about that? I tell everyone I know about this place and encourage anyone who is visiting to give it a try. I love this place so much that I am having my rehearsal dinner here! Thanks to the Yelper who pointed me this way. We (partner, me, kid) go to the coast to distribute our flamingly radical newspaper once a month, and pretend to be tourists, and gawk at the ocean, and restore our souls and sanity. And we usually have pizza, but...we couldn't bear another stop at the Pizza Factory, and were en route to corporate but okay Roundtable, when...I remembered D'aurelios, and the suggestion we try it. Partner thought he remembered where it might be, in an unprepossesing strip mall. Yep, he was right.. Understand, we survive frugally on sandwiches during our coast day, but by night pizza is calling, especially to kid, who is 24 and has Down Syndrome and a sure sense of what good food is. So we went in, found a table, sat down. (Yeah, this is Not Proper Procedure, I later realized. No one said anything about it to us though). Partner and kid thought a half pitcher of root beer would be great. Me, I was craving coffee, and also realized that drinking coffee at around 8 at night might be insane, so I asked for water as well. We ordered a small pizza (thick crust, red sauce, medium on sauce and cheese, and addition of pineapple *sigh* since kid loves pineapple). We also ordered a full veggie salad with ranch dressing. A plate of bread magically appeared at my elbow. My coffee was freshly brewed and delicious. The salad would have fed six of us, probably (but we ate it all, partner and kid in particular). It was really delicious, and I am sure I was sort of moaning with delight. And then the bread...oh, the bread. I hadn't read all the reviews here so I didn't know till I tasted it that it was fresh, homemade, and delicious. I shoved a piece into partner's face, demanding he taste it. I gave kid a slice. Smiles all around. The pizza...well, by the time the pizza arrived, we were pretty salad-satisfied. But kid and I had a piece each, delicious. And we have pizza for today's lunch, cause we took the rest home. We will certainly return. I would love to try other offerings here, but I would be content to have merely bread and coffee. Oh, delicious. Still delighted. (it did take a while to get my water, but after asking three times I got it. I was purring from bread and coffee, all was well.) read more

Delicious Italian family food at its best! D'aurelio's is like visiting my best friend's mother's kitchen, but with restaurant tables and booths. You're treated like one of the family with generous helpings of perfectly prepared tangy sauces and soups. The clam linguini is outstanding. And there's the freshly baked, steaming hot loaf of bread. I'm a big eater and I've never made it to desert and usually take at least a quarter of my order home to enjoy the next day. If you like great Italian, this restaurant is worth seeking out when in Fort Bragg. Get there at opening for dinner, as it fills up fast and no one is rushed to eat and leave. read more

We arrived late on a Saturday evening and were greeted by wonderful smells wafting out the front door. The wait was about 20 minutes, which gave us time to look over the menu. We were seated at a booth but asked if we could get a table to make it more comfortable for all. No problem! We ordered a salad and medium pizza for four people, and we took nearly half the pizza home with us. The salad was fantastic with plenty of meat and cheese and veggies. The pizza crust was great to my way of thinking, though our friends thought it was a little over-done. We had a custom 5-item combo. As many have commented, the bread was fantastic. It had a nice flavor, just the right amount of chewiness and a good crust. The left-over Italian salad dressing made for a great dipping sauce! Our friends ordered a loaf to take home with them. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was busy and a couple of our requests took a few minutes to be realized, but I can't fault them too much. Maybe a 1/2-star off in that regard, but overall a very good dining experience. read more

Like a few of the two- and three-star yelpers before me, I had such high hopes! It was going to be our last meal in Fort Bragg, and we were excited to have chosen a place with such great reviews. First thing that happened was that someone erased our name off the waiting board WITHOUT having called our name first! It was only when I noticed that people arriving after us were being seated first did I bother to go check the board. Our name was gone, a new list of names was in its place. When my boyfriend went to find someone to tell, she shrugged and was unhelpful. Frustrated, but hoping that the food would make up for it, we wrote our name again at the bottom of the list. About an hour after our arrival, we were finally able to be seated. I ordered the lasagna - one of my favorite foods - and my boyfriend ordered a mini pizza. Sadly, the lasagna was waaay too cheesy. As in, 70% cheese and 30% everything else. The ground beef inside it also lacked flavor. I've had much better frozen lasagnas from the grocery store. At the end of my meal, I had a huge lump of cheese left on my plate...blech. The pizza was okay, but not too special. We had some from Piaci the night before, and that was much better. I really didnt have a great experience here, from the first minute. There was a pretty long line, but my girlfriend and I decided to stick it out. Took a minute or two to realize that we had to go inside and write our names down on a list (no one outside felt any need to inform us), and after we started seeing people that arrived after us getting seated, we went inside to discover our name had been erased. I let an employee know, and she hurried off after adding my name to the bottom. I. Was. Furious. Anyway, we stuck it out because it was late and we didnt wanna drive anywhere. Wait was long, bathroom was awkwardly stuffed behind storage racks. The pizza I ordered was not only absurdly filling, but was totally completely uninteresting. Came here with my wife before going to the movie theatre down the street. We were surprised to see this place packed on a Monday for dinner. We ordered the Veggie Half Salad and split this. It was HUGE!....and one of the best salads I've ever had. I think the different cheeses on it make it a little different than most. The bread here is also very good. We also ordered a pizza with salami and olives. I like that they give the option of having extra sauce or cheese. I also saw several people get some type of mini pizza with three meatballs sitting on it. I'll have to try that next. Highly recommended. read more

We found this lil gem about 20 years ago peering out the bathroom window of a motel wondering why there was such a long line of people waiting forever to get in this place to eat. Well, this place still exists!!! And the food is still the most wonderful italian food I have ever had. Friday we got right in. Saturday we waited almost 2 hours for a table. But the wait is well worth it. If your smart you learn to go over, find out what the wait time is, put your name on the board and come back later. They are only open 4 hours a day from 5 - 9 pm. OK. I really wanted to like this place. I had high hopes given the fantastic reviews that everyone has written. First, the service was perhaps the BEST I have ever received. There is a magic to this place. My girlfriend and I walked in and we were immediately welcomed with open arms by the staff, and other people waiting for a table. We were on a trip driving up the coast on highway 1, and everyone wanted to hear about how it was going and where we were from. Seriously, some of the friendliest people I've met! There may a slight wait given the huge popularity of this place, but we didn't even notice with awesome people to talk to! Unfortunately though, the food pales in comparison to the service. We ordered a pizza with a medium level of cheese, as well as a salad. The salad was drenched in dressing - basically inedible. And the pizza was pretty bad. Completely smothered in cheese, and the cheese wasn't even that good. I have had worse pizza before, but to be honest, not much worse. It's so sad because I really wanted this place to be better. It has a wonderful atmosphere. I honestly may go back and just try something else, in hopes that I'll like it better. If it weren't for the service and wonderful setting, I'd have rated this place lower. read more

Talk about a total hole in the wall joint! Who would have ever thought that in such a shady area in a not-so-nice strip mall you'd find such a little treasure? I was certainly surprised. The restaurant is rather small and has limited hours of operation. I think it was open 5pm-8pm....?? People were lined up outside the doors waiting for tables. We waited nearly 30 minutes. We had a rather large group, but they were able to seat us all together. I ordered a pizza with all veggies on it, my kids got a pepperoni pizza. The service was great, and fast. Our food was delicious! My pizza was a thin crusted pizza, but with just the perfect amount of toppings, the crust came out nice and no soggy spots! It was a perfect pizza with TONS of toppings! AMAZING!! Best PIZZA (not including Chicago pie pizza) I've ever had!! We were passing through and looked on YELP (THANKS YELPERS!) and found this pizza place. It's in a little shopping center off the strip - it doesn't look like much but the staff is amazingly friendly and it was PACKED so you might have to wait. My three year old was playing on my phone when, what I think might have been one of the owners (an extremely friendly older woman) came and asked if she'd like some dough to play with. She LOVED IT!! She asks now if she can have dough to play with before dinner!! Their minestrone soup is different than I've ever had, their pasta is al dente and it's not tomato based - but it is a fantastic flavor and I loved it. The pizza - OH MY! It was cooked to perfection and even after soup and salad I ate three huge pieces! I was HAPPY and STUFFED. It was amazing!! I can't wait to go back to Fort Bragg!! read more

We decide to try D'aurelios based on Yelp reviews and weren't disappointed. We ordered small dinner salads and a pizza. The salads were very good and included tomatoes, shredded carrots, olives, and croutons. My only complaint was that the Bleu cheese dressing wasn't very good. We ordered a medium pizza with thin crust, pesto sauce and medium cheese, tomatoes, olives, onions, fresh garlic, Italian sausage and feta cheese. The pizza was great, but next time I would order the pizza easy on the cheese. They offer a small selection of good beers and and a nice selection of wines. The bread was pretty awesome, as other reviewers had mentioned, but we held back eating much of it since we ordered pizza. This is definitely a family-friendly environment. But if you don't get there before they are full, you'll end up waiting outside to be seated, so dress accordingly. read more

Came here for a Sunday dinner on our getaway weekend to Fort Bragg. We arrived about 6:00 pm without reservations and were immediately seated in a booth. By the time we left (7:15ish), there was a line out the door (on a Sunday!). The food was really really good. My boyfriend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. I ordered the shrimp pasta. Portions were good sized. Their wine stock was a bit low, but it all ended up OK with a lovely glass (or two) of chianti. The dinner salads were also really good. We took boxes home. The staff was very attentive. We got a good chuckle out of the Hispanic waiter who was speaking Spanish in the Italian restaurant. Very friendly folks. Prices were spot on (especially given the portion sizes). We will definitely be back. read more

Stop. Listen. Get the Cioppino. We have been here a couple times while visiting the coast. This place has always been memorable but I just had a revelation. The Cioppino here is the best I have ever had. It is a generous portion with good quality seafood (even if lacking crab) but the sauce is what makes it. Slightly chunky and very, very rich it is just perfect. It comes with a small side of garlic bread but do yourself a favor and order another half order to soppe up all that sauce. The pizza is good too, too bad we forgot and left it in the car overnight. It is not the best I have had but it is good, and the kids were happy and the sun was setting and I was calm....could have been the scrimshaw...or the second scrimshaw. Service was friendly but sloooow. I know they were backed up but they are always backed up. It took us 15 minutes to addressed, after waiting an expected 15 minutes out side. read more

So after reading the review from Yelp, and look around the eatery scene in Fort Bragg area, this place seem to be the best of all. We get there at 5:30pm on Friday, yet, the restaurant was packed with local, which to us, this seem to be a good sign. We order 'lasagna', and their specialty thin crust and extra cheese 'California coast pizza'. The lasagna was alrite, but not out of this worl like some other recomendation in this board. The pizza (veggie), the crust was thin and destine for a great veggie pizza, but the flavor was too confusing. It almost like trying to much of everything. Perharps our taste bud is much diferent and complex compare to other. In my oppinion, the pizza was sub-par, and almost at the level of costco pizza, no way near mom and pop pizza. read more

My wife and I shared a pizza -- thin crust, pesto, mushrooms, onions, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, anchovies and jalapenos, medium cheese -- and a well-priced bottle of Navarro Pinot Noir -- and loved everything. The restaurant has kind of a diner atmosphere, with a friendly and helpful waitstaff -- combined with the quality of the food, the dinner experience really exceeded expectations. The pizza is a massive slab, like a deep-dish on a cracker crust. The restaurant was very busy the whole time we were there on a Monday evening, and it seems like a local institution. This is the second time we have eaten here on one of our annual visits to Fort Bragg. Last year we unwittingly went on Valentine's Day and waited an hour to be seated. Luckily the food was worth the wait. This year our timing was better and we were seated right away. The antipasto salad is fantastic and huge! The half salad was more than the two of us could eat. I asked a couple locals for restaurant recommendations, and they both recommended D'Aurelios if I was looking for Italian food. The service was great - friendly, helpful, and attentive - and the food was excellent! I had lasagna, a salad and a beer. Lasagna is my go-to for Italian restaurants I haven't been to before, and D'Aurelios' was great! A pretty big serving, with great spices and lots of meat and cheese. The salad was really good, and they had a few good beers on tap. If you're in Ft. Bragg and looking for good Italian, stop by D'Aurelios. I think you'll be glad you did! read more

We drove into Fort Bragg on Labor Day to escape the heat for a few days. Wanted pizza on our first night here and found this place on Yelp. Well, the pizza was absolutely delicious! Ordered a cheese and bacon on thin crust with medium sauce and cheese, plus a pepperoni, mushroom and fresh garlic on thin crust with medium sauce and cheese (red sauce on both). The kid declared the cheese and bacon, "the best pizza I've ever had!" I didn't have any of the cheese and bacon, but I totally believe it. Also got 1 antipasto salad to share which was big, and so fresh and tasty. We ordered take out (pandemic and all) and the restaurant smelled so good inside. Employees were working hard and there was a bit of a line to pick up our food at 5:30p, but no issues and everyone was wearing masks. So glad we found this place. We are a pizza loving family - New York City, Chicago...we've had great pizza in a lot of places (except Los Angeles - not a lot of good pies there). This is yummm! We've gone here at least once a trip for the past 10 years, and it's gotten progressively worse and worse. Our last visit was the final straw. Went in Monday July 18th for dinner, were told our party of three would be seated right away. Several tables were open, so we were pleased. Thirty five minutes and three other large partial groups seated ahead of us, and we finally got a table. (We only stayed because the guys really wanted pasta). Service was very slow for us for some reason. I ordered the lasagna, and the guys both ordered pasta Alfredo with chicken. The lasagna was very semi-homemade; Ragu tasting sauce and the parmesan was not fresh, like the dry shreds you get out of the clear plastic container. Very bland flavor, nothing special. The Alfredo on the pasta tasted very strange and grainy, and the chicken was so dry, it was inedible. The pasta itself was so overcooked, it was falling apart. Gross. Had we been checked on even once by our server, we'd have sent the plates back. No refills ever offered after our cups were long dry. I had to drink the rest of my sons soda from his cup. I was so thirsty. I went up to pay the bill while the guys went to the car, and I let the cashier know that the chicken was inedible on both of the dishes, which were still almost full on the table. She did take $10 off the bill, which was nice. By the time I got back to the car, both of my guys were already having tummy trouble - if you catch my drift. They spent the rest of the night alternating trips to the hotel room toilet. Definitely will not return, and definitely will not recommend this place to anyone I know who comes to Fort Bragg for a getaway. read more

I order the Pesto, chicken, pineapple, walnut. Toasted nuts on pizza are good. oh yeah. They have lots of dinning choices, the meat balls are huge, crazy big. Didn't love it; didn't hate it. The waitress was great. She was funny in a serious kind of way. Totally dug her. But the pasta sauces were watery and bland. The pizza, while tasty, wasn't as ordered. You see, they ask you, "Light, Medium, or Heavy sauce/cheese," to which we ordered both light. The thing was SMOTHERED in cheese. If that was really "light" on the cheese, I'd be afraid to see heavy! O.o Oh, god... The garlic bread. How could i almost forget the garlic bread?! Spectacular dinner salad piled high with mixed greens, shredded carrots and cabbage, sliced olives, tomato wedge, crunchy croutons and a pepperioni. Place your order and the salad is on your table so quickly! Great portions and you're not waiting for dinner. I ordered the spiral noodles with meat sauce and 2 meatballs and I could've easily split it with my girlfriend who got the shrimp pasta with a dozen shrimp. Was looking for a place to have dinner at before going to watch the sunset at Pomo Bluffs, and pasta sounded good. Yelp guided me to this place, and it did not do me wrong! The place had a really great homey feel to it. I took a seat infront of the TV since I was eating alone and love my sports, and ordered some pasta primavera with marinara sauce and thousand island on the salad. The salad was solid, lots of dressing, and a really fresh/spicy banana pepper thrown in that I cracked open to give it a little zing. The bread I received with my meal was good, however it is cold (this is standard), would be nice if they warmed up the bread before serving it, however it was still Fresh and tasty! perfect for mopping up thousand island dressing and marinara sauce. When my pasta came out I was shocked at the serving size, considering I got the "half" size. The portions here are awesome, I don't think even in my most hungry state I could eat a "full" size portion, so keep that in mind. I was half expecting the vegetables to be limp, old, and soggy on the pasta, but to my surprise they were fresh, colorful, and really tasty! The marinara sauce was really good, with the pasta being maybe just a tad over cooked, but still great. Overall very very satisfied with the meal, and ate every last morcel on my plate!
