I am not a confrontational person, just had concerns about the health of my nails and he was dismissive with a nasty attitude. I am so pleased. I moved from out of state over a year ago. I have tried several nail salon some much more expensive and some less. This salon surpasses them all. Very clean, the people are extremely hospitable and they consistently do good work. I brought in my grand daughters for their first mani- pedi experience. The girls ages 3-5 were a little intimidated at first. The staff patiently allowed them to check out the pedicure thrones and put pillows behind them so they could reach the water. Made an appointment at 1pm, was there on time and I was taken in 40 minutes later. I was there to get a pedicure and full acrylic with ombré m. No issue with the pedicure aside from the fact the guy who did my pedicure was a dick. The lady could not do the ombré with a different color even though the have multiple samples showing they supposedly do. She tried 3 different colors and couldn't make it blend. Why advertise something you can't do? I saw they also do chrome in the samples so I asked for that instead. Such a sloppy job it looks awful she didn't even clean my cuticles and the finish looks bumpy and textured. I don't know how the place was so packed they're no cheaper then any other nail salon, their work is mediocre and they're all so rude. I sat in the waiting room for 25 min and never had anyone say anything to me. After 25 min the owner came over and asked what i needed and i just needed a fill and gel polish change. I sat with a lady and she took 20 min just to file my nails to get ready for the fill she then tried to pry the nail off of my middle finger and ended up taking my natural nail off halfway. the owner came over and took over and had to rebuild a nail on my hand so that my nails didn't look that bad. Here it is 1 week later and my nails are chipping and lifting. I am not happy at all with this place. avoid it like the plague. read more

Only reasons I give this place 3 stars is because I loveeeee my nail lady, she gives the best pedis. Unfortunately I wish she worked somewhere else. One of the owners that sits in the front is not welcoming at all. I asked her if the girl I go to was available and she told me yes. I am new to the area (about a year and a half), and have been going to D & J Nails regularly for manicures and pedicures. I had been pleased with the services until yesterday, when I once again went in for a mani/pedi. Upon walking in, I was instructed to go to chair #4 to begin my pedicure. Upon sitting in the chair, an employee (male) came and immediately had me place my feet in the warm water, where he then removed the polish from my toenails. Afterwards, he began the process of removing the gel polish from my fingernails by placing foil on my nails. After applying the foil, the employee left me just sitting there, without saying a word. After sitting for approx. 10 ten minutes, I asked a different employee (male employee #2) if he could find out why I was left sitting there. With an annoyed look on his face, he told me that everyone was on a break. Had I known that my pedicurist would be going on a break in the middle of my service, I could have made the choice to either stay, or go elsewhere. It was at this time that a female employee who was working on a customer at the first manicure station, said that the man (employee #2) would do my pedicure right now. I responded that I thought everyone was on break, to which there was no response. The employee (male employee #2) , while walking towards my chair, said something in a language that i did not understand. I asked him to tell me what he'd just said. He said that he told the female employee that, "She (referring to me) can go ahead and leave." NOT ONE TIME WAS I EVER RUDE TO ANYONE THERE, however, after hearing this, I started preparing myself to leave. I asked this rude employee (male employee #2) to remove the foil from my fingernails, which he did, but in an annoyed, rude, impatient manner. At this point he and I began arguing loudly, while he is attempting to escort me out the door. The female employee at the first table chimed in to tell me that when I first arrived for services, I was supposed to ask how long the wait would be. The fact that I was seated right away, and services to my nails and feet had started immediately, did not indicate to me that I needed to inquire about a waiting time. The male employee (male #2) for no reason, became so enraged, that he walked at a fast speed ahead of me, and held the door wide open so that I could leave, while steadily repeating the words, "GET OUT!" I informed this man, whom seemed to be becoming unhinged, that I was a regular customer, and, the fact that there were at least five other customers in the place, you would think that this man would attempt to demonstrate some degree of professionalism/customer satisfaction, but he did not. Not only has D & J lost my business, but also the busy of my family and friends when they come into town to visit me. This is the most shocking demonstration of unprofessionalism that I've ever witnessed or experienced from a service provider in my entire life. I am a resident of Orlando, FL. read more

I heard great things about this place. Walking welcome. I walked in on a Saturday. They said 20 min, but it was 45 before they took us. I wanted a dip for my nails and a regular pedi. They started my nails and healed way through, they stopped and had me start my pedi. I was running so late but my nails were half done so I couldn't just pay for the pedi and leave. I was there for almost 3 hours. They were out of the color I selected and I had to ask them to remove the dib from around and under my nails. My nails still do look great (2weeks later!) But the service was not good at all. I give them one star for service. 4 stars for quality and longevity of my nails. read more

I called ahead to schedule spa manicures & pedicures for myself and my daughter, so that we could get them together and have some "girl time" while we were on this side of town today. Upon arrival we were given barely a minute to choose polish and rushed to sit for our manicures (& moved to different seats several times). I had to try to look at the gel colors while my lady was taking the old polish off of my nails. My daughter was moved 3 seats away from me. I asked for manicures and when I glanced over realized my daughter already had polish on, she had not recieved her manicure at all, when I asked about it the lady just looked at me and shrugged. My gel "manicure" ended up being polish only as well. There are several spots on the ends of 5 nails with no polish. I specifically stated that I wanted to see a list of the different spa pedicures to choose which we wanted, my daughter was seated and her pedicure started before my nails were halfway done and I had not even seen the list or told them which pedicure I wanted. I had to stop the lady and have her empty the tub to put a clean liner in it (which they charge extra for). I ended up just getting polish on my nails because by the time they started my pedicure my daughter was almost done with her 45 minute pedicure and I didn't want her to have to sit there and wait for me. This place was recommended to me, so despite the less than stellar reviews I thought I'd give them a shot. I won't be back, the quality and customer service are severely lacking. I'm going to have to pay for another manicure and go to my regular salon on my next off to have my gel manicure redone. read more

Nails looked like a 2 year old did them. I had gel nails done and by the next morning, most nails were chipped. They already looked bad when done with irregular edges and bumps but after they chipped, I had to take off the gel and do them myself. The gel just peeled off, as if they hadn't cured. Asked for gel polish, previously had regular polish on nails. Tech didn't remove all of my burgundy polish, left nails stained and painted a neutral gel polish over my stained nails. No pumice stone and had to ask for foot/skin scraping after feet were dry and not put back in the water. Owner Lynn, very unprofessional as she assumed her incompetent Peducurist did her job. Because she had a wet pumice stone she ASSumed it was used on me. My sister also told her that she didn't use it and this incompetent owner Lynn said she did. I'M DONE. BAD BUSINESS.
