Convenient location near work when I am craving Oxtail Stew. Friendly staff and the Oxtail is yummy

We ask for ox tails and got this.

I was craving Jamaican food so my significant other decided to take me to this location. When we pulled up to the parking lot, there were no cars parked in front. Springfield was just coming out of a bad snow storm so we weren't sure that they were open. It turns out that the place was open so we opened the door and walked straight in. To our left was a flat screen showing the Chiefs vs Bengals AFC Championship game. We watched for a couple minutes while we waited for an employee to help us. He ordered the small jerk chicken and I ordered the small oxtails over rice and beef patty. The oxtail was good, but I noticed that there was more bones than meat. The rice was delicious. The meat patty was very spicy and I've had better. To be honest, if there was more meat on the oxtails, I would've given this spot 5 stars. But for now, it deserves only 4 and that's because of the reasonable prices, the tasty rice, and jerk chicken. W

Went to this place after my road test. I just ordered a curry goat order which came with some rice. It was SOO delicious!! Didn't have too many bones which I liked because I have this weird fear of lots of bones in my food LOL. Also, it was SO filling that I was able to have 3 separate servings from it over 3 days. The flavor was bomb too. Personally, I would've liked if it was a littleeee less spicy--but that's my problem, not anyone else's haha! I wish this place was closer to me so I could go back more often!

You might drive by D&G because it's hard to find, tucked away on a side street. Or you might drive by it because it's not exactly impressive looking when you do find it. But Oh Lord, please check them out because their food is absolutely terrific. Their menu is limited with just a handful of options available daily (curry, fried, jerk or stew chicken, plus oxtail and curry goat). Once a week specials like shrimp or jerk pork or cow's foot supplement the basic choices. I walked in for a take-out order on a Wednesday evening and chose a two-meat combination of jerk chicken and curry chicken with cabbage and rice and peas that ran $13. What a feast! I was very surprised at how good the curry chicken was. The chicken was moist, tender, very flavorful, and just plain delicious. The jerk chicken was fairly spicy but I thought the chicken was a little dryer than the curry chicken, definitely not as tender. The rice and peas were very good and the spicy gravy I asked for didn't disappoint. While I waited for my order, I walked around the restaurant and browsed the Jamaican food stuffs and beverages available for sale. I got a kick out of a "Heroes" poster I saw on the wall with photos of Nelson Mandela, Hailey Selassie, Bob Marley, Muhammad Ali, Barack Obama, Marcus Garvey, and Martin Luther King. The service was friendly, the vibe was sweet, and the food was excellent. Especially that Curry Chicken.

So let me begin by saying this place doesn't look like much when you drive up, it doesn't get better when you walk in. It's literally a hole in the wall, but as many of us know these are the best!!!! Sometimes the service isn't even that great, but putting that aside, the food is amazing!!!! We've tried the oxtail which is always consistently delicious. My family loves the jerk pork which usually is available Thursday thru Saturday. It's spicy, some times it's super spicy and sometimes not as spicy. The curry goat is also very good. Sometimes they have curry shrimp and also good. Many come in for the classic Jamaican beef patty which everyone raves about, get it with the coco bread, you won't be disappointed. A friend of mine who is from Jamaica loves this place! Side note in the summer...take it to go, it's so hot it's uncomfortable. I don't think they even have AC.

We just ordered a $ 100,00 worth in food and they delivery half order. very messy. I called and they didn't nothing about. Just give the delivery persons phone number and that's set. I lost my money and they ruined the day.

Amazing - medium jerk chicken. Huge portion, delicious and tender meat.

Delicious Jamaican food. The portions are very large. I got the jerk chicken. Cant wait to go back and try the curry goat.

Nice little location, plenty of tables to eat at in the dining section if you're inclined to eat there. Interesting murals on the walls and some pictures of prominent Jamaican people in history. They don't have a menu on the wall per se, but a paper menu on top of the counter you can look at that looks like it changes daily as well as a menu online. A nice young man rang up my order, which was quickly filled by a pleasant lady that I chatted with while she fulfilled my order. I gotta tell you my car was smelling good on the way home! Everything was wonderful, the oxtails were very flavorful, somewhat labor intensive to eat but hey.....that's oxtails! The jerk chicken had excellent flavor and with a decent spice level kick. The rice and peas were awesome as well as the steamed cabbage. We also picked up a jerk chicken sandwich on coco bread with fries (which was only $8.95!!!) that was very tasty and a couple of mild beef patties for good measure. We enjoyed every single item we brought home from 1Love. Definitely will be making a trip back again soon. Stop by and check them out, you won't be sorry you did!
