The food was delicious!!! I ordered the red snapper and it was exactly the way I love it - Caribbean style. And, the side of seafood rice was like a whole second meal and unbelievably tasty. My husband had the churrasco and it was cooked perfectly and the chimmichurri was great. We also had the chx mofunquitos as an app and they were so flavorful and a heaping portion of 3 - another whole meal. The drinks - meh. As for the ambience - lacking. Service could use some training considering the price of the meals. The price is conducive to the food, but not the atmosphere or the service. If it were either more upscale to match the prices or a better value casual Caribbean restaurant, I think it would be packed. I hope they work out the kinks as we really loved the food.

No, Cana does not imply cannabis lol. I know, it's a misleading name. But no marijuana infusions here. Just good food and friendly staff

It had maybe eight tables, and you'd wait along the wall for a table to open up. You could even bring your own liquor, and the food was absolutely worth it. Fast-forward to now: a chef who used to work at Big Mamou opened this spinoff. The place is way bigger and has a full bar. We went there for lunch, and I got a catfish po'boy. The food was okay. Not bad, but nothing I'd write home about. I also ordered a drink and asked if it was close to an old-fashioned. The waitress said no, but it literally was an old-fashioned, and I didn't enjoy it. The staff, however, was great very nice and attentive. The chef even made me homemade honey mustard because, let's be honest, I'm a child and have to have honey mustard with my fries. I'm definitely planning to go back and try something else. hoping to capture a little of the magic from the old Big Mamou

First I will tell you Wayne Hooker is a perfectionist. For Ivan to take this icon to this level is divine and genius. The food is, dare I say, better than before! We had a rum punch that the bartender made up on her own. Delicious. It's the only picture I took because after the drink I fell in love again. We ordered the cheesy bread. I had the red beans and rice with sausage and chicken. My table mate had the etuffee with chicken and shrimp. We shared the banana Foster for dessert. Welcome back Mamou! We celebrate your return. P.S I must talk about this space! We all remember the limited tables and lines out the door. None of that. I even peeked online and they'll even take reservations. Kudos and I will see you soon.
