One of my favorite breakfast spots! Highly recommend their California burritos with their hash browns (one of my favorites around here because of how crispy it is). I also like their vanilla latte with oat milk. It's so good and I like that they are willing to refill it with regular coffee after I'm done. Super relaxing and chill environment - definitely gets busy so I recommend coming early or avoiding peak times otherwise you'll have to do take out. read more

Food was delish, we ordered the egg muffin with crisp bacon. Service started out amazing, very kind female took our order, only problem food was not delivered in a timely manner. After inquiring 30 min later, we're told "don't even worry about it, it's coming". After asking again the nice gent let us know there was a mix-up in the kitchen. We can understand things happen but the rudeness we were subjected too by the two additional females was not deserved. Ya'll this place is a cozy mountain cafe! I've lived in the area for almost a year and didn't try it due to reading some reviews about how people of color were treated. I didn't experience any of that when I visited. My friend and I felt totally comfortable in our community coffee shop. Cozy, Cute & Customer friendly. What a nice friendly establishment that I stumbled upon today. Nestled in the corner of a shopping center that you'd miss if blink. The ladies here treated me great from start to finish even offering me dietary options specific to my needs since I was trying to avoid dairy. I noticed quite a few reviews regarding the establishment not being so friendly towards people of color but I can honestly say I did not have that experience. They offer a variety of lunch & breakfast items and even have turkey & chicken options in lieu of pork. The food I ordered was the Strawberry Waffle and iced vanilla latte. Both were delicious. The Strawberries were sweet & fresh & my latte made with oatmilk. The place was very clean & they have indoor and outdoor seating available. They provide hand sanitizer & fresh filtered water too. Another place I found by searching a specific area on Yelp for breakfast. I met a friend here, and I arrived first so I chose a table and waited, as you order at the counter then the food is brought out to you. This is a cute place, on the smaller side and not a lot of options for tables. I believe there were only one or two tables for (2) and a few more larger tables for about (4) each. There was a couch up front as well with a coffee type table. There was outside seating, but it was raining when I arrived. They have some games which is always fun. The table we sat at was a checkerboard with checkers off to the side. I arrived just before 8am and there was no issue finding a table. By the time we left, the line was out the door and seating was definitely an issue. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and I added bacon. I also got a side of fruit - I believed it came with either hash browns of fruit, but my burrito already had hash browns inside. My burrito was just ok. It didn't wow me. I also didn't leave feeling quite satisfied. I had a lot of time to look at the menu, and I definitely could've gotten something more exciting, however I've recently learned I have a lot of food allergies so I was a bit limited. After a nice morning hike, I stumbled upon this cute little cafe. It's super cute and cozy and the staff are very nice and helpful. Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito which was huge and delicious and comes with a side of crispy delicious has brown or refreshing fruit. I ordered a large acai bowl. The large ended up being much bigger than I thought it would be so I wasn't able to finish it, but you'll definitely get the bang for your buck. I don't know what kind of granola they use but it definitely MADE the acai bowl. It had a crunchy but soft texture and I seriously still dream about it. I've been coming to Cyrano's for a long time so was excited to share this place with a friend. Not only was our breakfast 30 minutes late but when my friend kindly inquired she was given an abrupt sarcastic answer and after waiting 15 more minutes, we inquired again only to be told that our food was being re-made. When it finally came, I politely said thank you and appreciate it. The server didn't even make eye contact with me nor give a reply. The fact that a gratuity was requested and PAID before we received this awful service made it even worse. The one very unprofessional server literally did a happy dance when we left as if WE had done something wrong. I was so embarrassed to have bragged about this place to my friend and have it turn out this way. Wow and wow never again will I recommend them to ANYONE. read more

I'm used to being a Unicorn in OC and for the most part I get great service 99% of the time in ALL spaces, so when something like this happens, I know exactly what's going on. The air was thick! Recently spent a lot of time here studying for the bar exam. I really enjoy the egg-ala-bagel which is the perfect breakfast sandwiches and a good portion. I also enjoy the iced Americano but if you get iced coffee and stay there they will give you free refills which is amazing! All of the baristas are really nice but Jessica is especially great! She always makes a point to greet people when they come in and tends to remember people's orders! She's super nice and helpful and makes great conversation. Had breakfast here today. Huevos Rancheros- Was good, Spicy and saucy. Though eggs were over poached as they weren't runny. California Benedict- I would have enjoyed big slice of tomato rather then small Roma tomato's. Sauce was ok, eggs were not runny then are supposed to. Hash Browns were cooked and seasoned well. Oh how I love this sweet little caffe! It's a hidden gem. I ordered from door dash one day because their French toast looked amazing... it was! Then I realized how close it was and I've been going back when I can. I've had their Açaí bowls which have the best granola. Their coffees are delicious and affordable. This morning I had an iced americano and it was just the way I like it! My husband and I have been here a few times. We have brought in friends to eat with us and some of them came back without us even. It's that good. The food comes out hot (temperature hot) and stays hot like you could see the steam for a few more minutes. I don't know how they do that. I love it. I get the CA burrito and my husbands gets the caprese omelette. Both have been consistently good. They make Iced mocha oat milk so good too. Why? How? The portions are just right to big. Satisfying either way' Price is comparable. Service and ambience are casual, relaxed,friendly, happy yet attentive. The staff are very helpful and informative. No pretentiousness here at all. This place has a cool, neighborhood cafe vibe. Stay for a while, stay just after eating or drinking or take your food to go. Service is the same: warm and welcoming. The food is still phenomenal, but after my takeout experience today I had to dock a star! First, we ordered two simple burritos and a kids pancake and were told the wait was an hour. Woah! Ok fine. One hour later I go get my order, and it's ready, but I quickly see a burrito is missing. The girl at the counter gives no apology, just puts my second burrito order in. 20 minutes later it's finally ready. They were crowded but the girls kept making so many mistakes. So I asked for a complimentary muffin (I'm pregnant and was STARVING) and the girl practically rolled her eyes as she threw it in! I'm sorry but I worked in a restaurant and if there was ever an issue with an order that took a minute, let alone 20 (after an hour wait already) we would offer the guest something!!! Not sure what the hype is but the service and food is very subpar and is lacking. We were in the area after dropping KL at the vet for surgery. My sister always has food on the brain 24.7! She plots and plans when we are in the area to try new places. Personally for me, it was way too early to think about food LOL. Cyrano's is tucked away in a shopping center we've been to numerous times for Wise Guys pizza! I noticed immediately when we walked in that numerous patrons turned around and starting staring at us. It made me feel very uncomfortable and definitely not welcomed here as a new customer. I should have known that was a bad sign of things to come. We are in the year 2020, where diversity should be a given and no one should be looked at as if they are a foreign creature. Especially when it comes to being a PAYING CUSTOMER. No one really greeted us, one employee was making drinks and was so engaging with the older gentleman sitting at the bar that she did not make an effort as well. He was way too old to be patronizing with her, it was not cool at all. The employee working the front counter didn't have much sense of urgency either. Both were not wearing their masks properly {nose was exposed the entire time we were there} I don't think young girls should be running the front of the house without a responsible and mature adult. Things don't run smoothly, I've seen this so many times in the past at other establishments. All we ordered was 2 breakfast burritos and it literally took an eternity. Here is when the sense of urgency should come into play. 30 minutes and $23.00 later, we were highly disenchanted. We sat on a couch where the condiments were on a table so no one was able to sit next to us which was appreciated considering how long we waited. I saw other peoples food come out within a decent amount of time, I even saw someone bring their dog inside while they ordered their food. Last time I checked it was an inside establishment where food is prepared and eaten so I didn't think dogs were allowed? No one said anything so I'm assuming this is the norm here. Time is passing and my sister and I realize why isn't our food ready?! It was just 2 burritos! My sister gets up and asks what is going on?! None of the staff had any sense of urgency getting our food out. Our food was literally sitting on the counter for who knows how long and NO ONE said anything! The girl working the counter saw us waiting and didn't have the decency to tell us our food was ready?! I definitely think they cater to their favorites and white counterparts only. We have no problem paying for GOOD quality food, but this was subpar at best, basic burritos with no flavor and nothing to make us come back at all. I guess the regulars don't mind paying for mediocre, basic food. Between the food and terrible service we will never step foot in here again. I warn my counterparts to not come here, you will not be treated like a paying customer nor respected. They will look at you as if you do not belong in their restaurant. There are TOO MANY places to eat where you don't have to have to deal with this kind of service. Truly unacceptable. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!! I'll definitely be coming back we were a group of about 30 people and they accommodated us without hesitation or treating us rude. They were very professional and brought extra tables and chairs to fit everyone and even umbrellas to make sure we had shade outside. They were patient and friendly with us, especially the girl that seems to be in charge that day. I forgot to ask her name but she was so nice and even though it was a small place she made sure we were comfortable and had plenty of space. The food was 10/10 AMAZING. It got out to us quickly but was still of great quality. I ordered the Eggs Florentine with hash browns and an açaí bowl. It was so good. I was full but wanted to keep eating. My boyfriend got the Cuban sandwich and a starburst smoothie which were both SOOOO GOOD!! Their fruit tastes so fresh. Definitely coming here again. They could've easily been short with us and I wouldn't have blamed them for getting annoyed at us for bringing so many people but all the ladies that helped us were very sweet and professional. Throughout our search for more quality breakfast joints in the area, this along with another coffee shop in the adjacent lot both came up as options that intrigued us. Despite the fact that we have been in this area on numerous occasions for visits to Chronic Tacos, I had no idea this place even existed prior to us hunting it down. Cyrano's is hidden in the corner of the shopping center behind Chronic Tacos and Looney's Donuts and has a bunch of quality breakfast and lunch options as well as a large number of quality coffee, non-coffee, ice blended, smoothies and other assorted drinks to choose from. The décor of Cyrano's is a bit all over the place in the sense that none of the tables or chairs match, they have several with game tops (chess etc...) and walls are lined with various signs with popular quotes, quips and other sayings. This doesn't bother me but I know several people who typically nitpick over these details so I thought I would mention them nonetheless. After looking over the breakfast menu for several minutes, I decided to go with the French toast with fresh berries. The French toast is available in normal or wheat versions and I am unsure if the berries are always the same or change depending upon what's in season at the time. My wife decided to try the Acai bowl (without mango) as she tends to lean more to the healthier menu options than I typically will. The food came out quickly and both items looked delicious and fresh. My wife really seemed to enjoy the Acai bowl and when I asked said it was as good as the ones she's had at places that specialize in them. The French toast was cooked perfectly and the syrup along with the fruit really played nicely together, this stands up as one of the better French toasts I have had as of late. We ordered basic iced tea to go with our breakfast but before leaving we decided to head back up to the front and order a couple of specialty drinks to go. My wife went with the Monkey Mocha while I went with Orange Julius. The Monkey Mocha looked delicious but the Orange Julius was basically a simple Orange Frappe (a drink I like) but lacked the consistency of a Julius that I was expecting when ordering it. It was sweet but still tasted delicious although I still prefer the Orange Frappe I get at another place over this one. Overall, this was yet another quality breakfast establishment we have discovered as of late and I definitely can see us returning again sometime soon. I definitely want to come back and try some of the lunch items as well and perhaps try the Monkey Mocha or one of their smoothies for myself. Good food, good pricing and good service. These are the qualities I look for when dining out and this place has them. The experience wasn't perfect but it was well above average and that's good enough for me. They also have a phone charging unit on the bar top that can be used as well so this is a nice addition if your phone needs a bit more juice. read more

This place is super cute! I always come here after a hike with some friends. I always get the eggs and sausage with hash brown. Sometimes the hash browns are super salty, it's always a hit or miss. I ordered food for my dog as well and I told them no salt or butter. When the food came out, I saw it had salt and the cashier came back and told me that the cook told them there was salt on there already, but I was never informed there. It looked like someone had put salt on it... my friend had a plate as well and there was less salt on hers. read more

Cyrano's is a wonderful local gem tucked into a hidden pocket of east orange. I grab breakfast one or two times a week so this is not a one time user review. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced, the service is rapid and friendly...I always leave feeling like I had a good experience at a fair price. The coffee is $2. I have not been into this neighborhood shop in quite a while, and needing a bite and a caffeine fix, I decided to hit it up last Sunday after riding. It has been upgraded over the last couple of years, with a more upscale look. Coffee was good, and I had the huevos rancheros, which were quite tasty. There is outdoor seating (I used to come here with the dogs) and on this day, there were two customers who ride on horseback and left their horses tied up in the parking lot. It is tucked away in the very back of the shopping center, and I hope that the new coffee shop on the corner does not cannibalize too much business. I don't go into either to pick a favorite, but it just seems silly to have 2 small businesses compete in such a small market, and Cyrano's HAS been here way, way longer. read more
