Today while shopping at CVS I did self checkout. I placed my iPad down to do self check out. Once check out completed I left without my iPad. Not a bright move on my part. I don't normally bring iPad into stores. I didn't realize I forgot my iPad until about 20 minutes later when I was on my way back to CVS to return an item I bought. Alina helped me with return item. I asked if anyone turned in a iPad and she told me she noticed it at self check out and picked it up right away so it wouldn't get stolen. Her co-worker was helpful as well. Needless to say I am ever so grateful. There manager, Steve was out to lunch at time I was there so I called him after I left to let him know how kind Alina and her co-worker were. People are quick to complain and less likely to compliment and give credit for good deeds and good service. Steve thanked me and will see to it that Alina and her co-worker get recognized. Thank you CVS in Westlake Village! P.S.- My primary visit to CVS today was for a prescription pick up. Their pharmacy is a lot easier to do business with than they were last year. I have used this pharmacy since CVS bought out Long's, which is a number of years now. The store is OK for cosmetic items but the service at the pharmacy is just awful. You can stand and stand at the drop-off window with no acknowledgement whatsoever for quite some time. When you come back to pick up, prepare to wait in a long line again and be treated with indifference at best. Ugh....they told me 10-15 min......35 min later I checked back...scripts were not even submitted! Another 30 min later I received a text that order was ready . When I picked up, one script was missing. I had to go through the whole process again as the drop off counter just had the script sitting there on the register! Really?? After and hour +, no one saw the script just sitting there?? Anyways...another 15 min. Ugh! I would also like to add that as I was sitting there....3 people had said they called there scripts in that morning to b ready by X time. When they got there, orders had not even been started. The 5 stars go directly to the MINUTE CLINIC department and staff. I couldnt believe how fast and easy it was to get my test done for work. (Total time about 10 mins) Just walked in, checked-in, and waited about 5 mins to see the physician. She was really friendly and answered all my questions. I have been to this pharmacy many times over the years and yesterday was amazing....My FB note from yesterday that really should've been here instead. .....I met the most compassionate man today- thank you to the CVS pharmacist (Agoura Rd) who helped me this afternoon. While my Drs office kept messing up my refill, he quickly resolved my problem and didn't judge me for crying and shaking at the counter. He even noted my record that I am only to get this refilled and never find myself so unhinged. (For any women out there having to take BC pills for other issues and they not agree with you- you know what I speak of.)Sometimes life trips me up and thankfully God sent me an angel today to right my way. This pharmacy is probably the worst one I have ever worked with. I am a practicing doctor in Westlake and we have so much trouble with prescriptions that are called in so much that now we write them out for patients which is an inconvenience for them. Now I got to experience it as a patient . Today I came to pick up my prescription which was called in on Tuesday and verbally was given to the pharmacist. They decided not to fill the prescription because my insurance did not cover it.no one called me to ask whether I cared. I did not care and I cared that I had to wait in two different lines to get my prescription. No one apologized and I'm sure the pharmacist recognized my name. Just business for usual for them. I will really try to steer my patients to a different pharmacy from now on and obviously won't be coming here in the future . This was the last straw for me. read more

I use the pharmacy here because it's the closest to my work and has a big parking lot. The service is mediocre. The staff isn't friendly or very helpful, but not blatantly rude either. Wait times are moderate. A couple times I ordered refills through their online system that didn't go through and I had to call to reorder. One time they were out of stock of my most important medication and didn't bother to inform me and wouldn't check if my medication was available at other CVS locations. Most of the time they get my prescriptions filled relatively timely and accurately though. read more

Zero customer service. To make a very long story short I go to this CVS because the one near my house in Agoura isn't taking anymore customers (what the hell?). So I try to refill my regular Rx and the lady told me they are out of it and won't restock for 5 days. That really sucked but I also understand that these things happen. So I ask her to please call the next nearest CVS after she helps the lady behind me. She tells me that they won't allow that- that people have been pretending to call and be from another CVS and so now they don't tell you over he phone if they have your medication in stock. If you're confused by this, congrats! ...We are on the same page. Frustrated and confused... I left as to not hold up the line. When I got home I took a chance and called the other CVS myself and explained the issue. The nice woman took my name, confirmed I had a regular Rx with them, and then told me they were also out of stock. This woman saved me a 25 minute car ride (one way) just to find out that they were also out of stock of my medication. Between the crappy customer service from CVS in TO (Westlake) and Agoura Hills... I think I'll be changing my pharmacy after this. Now I know why CVS has a 2 star review Update: More HORRIBLE customer service. They screwed up my Rx twice in two day, I wasted two trips and then had to wait which caused me to be 30 minutes late for work because I needed my Rx ASAP. Not one person I spoke to apologized for THEIR mistake. No one even seemed to care that I was frustrated. I'll officially be switching pharmacies as soon as possible after this. Final update, more horrific service from these guys. I finally made the switch over to a smaller independent pharmacy company and they have already impressed me with how much they go above and beyond to help their customer. The only question is... why did I wait so long to transfer to a better pharmacy? Doh! These guys don't run out of my medication (it was always a gamble with cvs and they wouldn't let you fill it early either so that left you screwed if they ran out!). This is the worst place to get a prescription. They close at 11 but can't be bothered to do their job and close early. I get that they want to close right at 11 but when I come in 25 minutes before closing and they can't do anything it's crap. My sister was rushed to urgent care where she was put on a oxygen mask since her oxygen levels were down so I rushed to the closest CVS that is listed to be opened at 11 where they could do anything even if it was called in. If I could I wouldn't give them a single star, I definitely won't be giving them my business, they have lost a customer. read more

I moved to the Westlake Village area from Las Vegas last summer. I had my prescriptions from the CVS in Las Vegas transferred here. On more than 3 occasions, Richard essentially lied, made up his own rules, and would refuse to fill prescriptions that had been called in by my doctor. Richard made up the rule that they cannot fill transferred prescriptions from out of state. I said what is the point of transferring prescriptions here, obviously so this pharmacy can make money and what if the patient were traveling. His answers were total BS. Then he claimed he couldn't fill my prescription because the doctor didn't write it correctly, he gave me too much. I said fill whatever you are comfortable with and he denied it. Richard treated me like I was a drug addict and always gave me hell. Funniest part is my prescriptions were not controlled substances, you'd have thought I was taking Oxy they way her treated me. I've transferred all my prescriptions to Westlake Pharmacy and it has been a delightful and easy experience each time I have gone in. Avoid this CVS and Richard specifically. read more

I am so VERY impressed. I needed to speak to the pharmacist to ask about drug interaction on a busy Sunday night when most pharmacies were closed and after having called another brand store and- after being on a long hold got- " I think it's okay." CVS, too, was busy but the difference is that the first, very polite, person who answered the pharmacy line's first words were "There are two people ahead of you." Real good to know. Then, when it was my turn and I asked to be transferred to the pharmacist, it was explained that she was speaking to another patient and "It could be a while." That is absolutely okay and considerate and, once it was my turn, I knew why, because the pharmacist, Joanne, is a lovely person who was thorough and took her time with care. She stated immediately that she knew the answer, 'No interaction,' but would be 'double-checking anyway,' and asked for a moment to do so. I GREATLY appreciate the seriousness with which she responded in word and in action and want very much for her to know it is equally appreciated and admired of her and the CVS brand, which will be my top choice going forward. The pharmacy is the substandard and should be shuttered. They couldn't fill a medication I needed because it was out of stock, so it sat there for days with no one doing anything. The amount of problems I've had with this CVS and the one on Newbury Park is unbelievable. The store itself is perfectly fine, nice staff. The pharmacy is a completely different story. Staff has no idea what they are doing half the time, they take ages to help customers out so there is always a super long line. First, let me say that this is my first one-star review on Yelp of many glowing reviews, and I take it very seriously as a small business owner, as to the effect these ratings have. I was diagnosed with a MRSA infection on my face last Sunday night, which was fast-moving toward my left eye, sinus cavity and brain. I was prescribed a very heavy antibiotic cocktail in addition to I.V. and intramuscular injections of other antibiotics. I opted against doctors' advice not to go to the hospital, as my wife and I are well-qualified to administer all such needed treatments at home, and we have all necessary facilities for that. Due to the fact that it was Sunday evening, this CVS location in Westlake Village, albeit 12 miles away, was the only choice for getting the Rx filled. All seemed fine when I presented the prescription, and the pharmacist on duty told me he'd have to partially fill, as they didn't have enough in stock. That's perfectly fair, as it was an unusually large quantity prescribed. He assured me that the order would be completed the next day (Monday) for me to pick up anytime after 2PM. I had enough to last through the week, so I did not go back until Wednesday evening, at which time I was told that they "couldn't find the prescription". Upon my polite but firm request for them to check again, they discovered that nobody had bothered to order from the supplier that Monday morning, and with a half-baked apology, I was assured that I'd get a call bright & early Thursday to let me know it was ready. It is now Saturday morning; two days later, no call, and they aren't answering the phone. In case anyone thinks it has to do with an insurance delay, it's not. I am a cash customer with no insurance involved. If this is how the treat a patient with a potentially deadly illness requiring immediate and aggressive medication, with time of the essence at stake, I have to give this negative review for the safety & wellbeing of others in the future. read more

This is the worst pharmacy in the Westlake Village area. They don't care about their patients and fail to inform them if their prescription is massively expensive. Kanan pharmacy in Agoura would give me a courtesy call if my cost was over $50. Today my cost was $200 and the staff could care less. There was no phone call or warning. Serves me right for filling my medication at this pharmacy. It's all about money for them and there is no personal connection from the staff. Don't waste your time here. 0 STARS. I am writing from a doctors office that has just experienced the worst customer service from a pharmacy. I am in contact with pharmacies most of the day and its usually quick, efficient and friendly. But this CVS is by far the opposite. All I needed to do was call in a cost exceeds max for a pts medication. I wait on hold for 5min. Someone finally answers. I tell her that i am calling from the doctors office on behalf of a pt. She then asked the reason for my call so that she could bring up the correct screen. I give her my reason and she said she could not hear me. I apologize then speak louder. (now mind you, when she answered the phone and I started speaking, she could hear me just fine). She pauses, tells me to hold, prior to pressing the hold button she so rudely huffs and puffs and says I cant even...then i am put on hold. Now on hold for over 10mins, someone else answers and of course I now ask to speak to a manager. Was told ok and to hold. On hold for another 6min someone anwers, I ask if he is the manager and he says, "no i'm a tech". I kindly informed him that I was on hold to speak with the manager the pharmacist or someone in charge. He hurriedly places me on hold. I now hold 15 minutes. The pharmacist finally answers. (Rudely and irritated I might add) I informed him of the reason for my call and he cut me off to ask how he could help me. I then asked were he and his staff having a bad day because their behaviors were coming across very unprofessional. He replied that it was very busy and had 20 lines holding. (Not an excuse). I finally let him know the reason for my call and offer to give him the phone number to call to clear the pts meds and again very rudely tells me he has the number. I ask him to verify the number with me to be sure it's the same number I was given, and of course it was not. (not that the number he had was incorrect, but the number I had was a direct number to the department that they needed to call) He had the nerve to almost seem mad at me because I was trying to give him the number. I let him know that he and his staff were highly unprofessional and that I hoped the rest of their day was much better. But I sure will hate having to contact them again regarding my pt. :-( I called back to speak with the store manager however he was unavailable so I left a message stating that I had a complaint about their pharmacy staff and his reply was that of a I'm not surprised. They really need to get it together there. read more

I am outraged and Thousand Oaks CVS should be ashamed of themselves!! I just had surgery and unfortunately, my local CVS was out of my prescribed pain medicine. They recommended I contact other CVS stores for stock availability, to see if perhaps I could get it immediately instead of waiting for it to be ordered. All CVS's were most polite and accommodating, although my med was not in stock. However, the Thousand Oaks store told my husband, "That even if they had the medicine they would not sell it to me because I do not live in their community AND my doctor is out of their area!!!" Excuse me!! I live in Tarzana, minutes from TO; my doctor is at UCLA....not a sidewalk clinic! I am a valued customer at CVS...for years and have had prescriptions filled at other pharmacies when my "local" store was out. As a sidebar, I am 62 yrs old, had one of the most painful surgeries someone could have. Regardless, how dare CVS arbitrarily decide that someone has to "reside in their boundaries and my doctor the same!" I am not done with this issue and plan to convey this incident to higher personnel and applicable city/state departments. For those that actually reside in the Thousand Oaks area, perhaps it would be in your best interest to frequent the Agoura CVS. No bias there... read more

Agreed, this is one of the worst pharmacy. Not a lot of choices since the hours are good. The pharmacist was sick and coughing on the prescriptions. The assistant kept saying my prescription was ready but left me standing there for 15 minutes without any updates. I will take my business elsewhere! read more

THE WORST PHARMACY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD! Terribly understaffed & the stress shows in the staff's faces and demeanor. The only reason I stay is because Pharmacists like MIKE know how to do his job and run the counter and the phones all at the same time with a skeleton staff! AND HE'S ACTUALLY NICE ABOUT IT!!! He's the only cheerful pharmacist here that I can name! SHAME ON CORPORATE CVS for understaffing an area of patient health care that can't afford to make mistakes!!! A year ago I was given another patients medications. There was no reason for this error except carelessness. I still can't understand why the staff can't figure out how to apply the discount coupon codes for Celebrex & Lipitor! CVS computers must be programmed to reject these coupons because how else can they charge such high prices, that fluctuate from month to month and year to year. It can't all be the insurance company's fault! These company coupons are separate from insurance. I either get charged hundreds for brand or have to settle for generic which I don't like. This leads me to my current complaint. When I wanted to pay for my Meds, 1 of them was generic. Because I had a valid coupon for brand on record I was quickly told to go stand in another line. The issue was not resolved, the 800 phone # was closed & I had to settle for generic. Now PROTOCOL usually dictates that you return back to the original register to finishing paying for all the Meds that you waited for in the first line. It's an awkward & uncomfortable situation because nobody knows where to stand or sit & new clients waiting in line think your insane & are cutting the line. This is why the clerk, or in this case the pharmacist asks the next person in line to please wait, because you already stood in 2 lines & we all know the code: "FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!". For some reason, this new pharmacist asked me to wait again while she checked out a woman who had been waiting in line #1, but who clearly arrived a good 45 minutes after me. I could not believe what I was hearing. Who was this new Pharmacist who set me up to look like a mean, ungrateful, "rude" person who had to get home after waiting over an hour, and I objected! I was next in line! Then she apologizes to the other customer for making her what her turn. Now this is clearly a very embarrassing situation for everyone. Was this necessary? Protocol was broken. The system is broken. The automated system for requested times for pickup of Meds is broken. Even when you get a call that your Meds are ready, they are not! It's all broken. The staff is broken. CVS CORPORATE EXECUTIVES: YOU NEED TO STAFF YOUR PHARMACY AND START CARING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE & LET PHARMACISTS JUST DO PHARMACY & TECHS JUST DO THE REGISTER. YOUR WAIT TIMES ARE TOO LONG.
