Today was the first time I've used their pharmacy for a controlled substance, and while the pharmacy line was very long and I had to wait for close to an hour, it wasn't so terrible because while I was waiting, I hobbled around the store (I have a wicked sprained ankle) and picked up a few things. Almost everything is locked up, so a guard had to help me, and he was incredibly kind. He helped me find what I needed, in a very timely manner, because the store is huge. When I finally got my prescription, and I had to wait for a Lyft car by the front door, he brought me a chair. That's a first! I didn't find the wait at the pharmacy, considering what a big store it is, terribly unusual. I was able to wait in a bank of chairs by the pharmacy. I suggest going there early in the day if you have to pick up medication and consider submitting the prescription a day in advance. One thing I really appreciated, given I was picking up a controlled substance for the first time, I got absolutely no side eye from the pharmacy staff. A pharmacist discussed the potential risks of taking this medication with me, and she was totally professional with no "judgy" attitude. The huge store has so much selection, I'd have to say I recommend it. They have a great selection of Holiday items right now! She is a white lady who is russian or looks super russian, and I am russian and she felt very comfortable aggressively yelling at me in russian. I don't think whoever runs this store actually wants people to buy anything. I want to say about half of their stuff is locked behind glass, so you have to push a button and stand there like an idiot until a staff member manage to find the right key to give you access to a prospective purchase. And it's not only the "high-end" stuff. I wanted to grab a beverage, but all their drinks are locked up as well. I imagine they'll use rampant crime as an excuse -- but first, this is the outer Richmond, and second, the Andronico's next door somehow manages to thrive without treating any and all prospective customers like thieves. read more

I felt really offended also my kids we went there as a group she would not allowed us to go as a group so we went in individually one by one and she proceeded to be rude about it. My review is based on looking inside because last night a car drove into store & stole the ATM & the store is closed. Well, actually wide open - the outside is being repaired, the inside is completely trashed, & wow, they ripped the ATM right off its base. Things aren't going to get better until there are consequences & deterrents for crime. The CVS in Lower Haight is closing in January, joining a long list of closed businesses. Impossible to shop here! Everything (even toothpaste!) is locked up and when you push the buttons for help absolutely nothing happens. If you actually want to get something you have to track down an employee. The employee is then begruntled and grouchy for being interrupted. This happened with 3 different employees on one trip because every aisle, everything was locked up. At least have the bells work and employees available to unlock! Spoke to friends and they all had the same experience at this location. Impossible. read more

Went there for a photo book order, got there I had to wait 35 min until someone finally helped me. Then I checked the book and it had the whole print in one book instead of two. Told me that I have to wait for at least 30 more minutes for them to reprint it. I was like okay whatever. Then instead of printing it she went to help other costumers instead of just starting the print. when she finally came back 15 min later told her to cancel the order. The staff here are generally friendly and try to be helpful. However, the items I am looking for are often out of stock for long periods. The CVS computerized systems are horrible. When I try to call in, I have to leave a message, and the computerized answering system asks questions that it never completes, so it is impossible to answer them, and therefore impossible to actually leave a message. The CVS app provides erroneous information about my prescriptions, and the staff has no access to that information to figure out what went wrong. If you want further information when you are checking out of the pharmacy, staff has to go to a second computer in order to find that information. When I went to pick up my prescriptions today, I was told I would have to wait 20 minutes because the computer system was down for the whole store. I would shop elsewhere except that Walgreens is worse, and between them CVS and Walgreens have driven all of the competition out of business. read more

This review is specifically targeted to their COVID19 Vaccination services. Five star goes directly to how accessible their scheduling site is to book your appointment for both doses, as well as how fast and easy their check-in is and of course the vaccination itself. My partner and I scheduled our first doses on the same day but we could not find a back-to-back slot, but after calling them, they told me that we can come together on the later time to save the trip. Love how flexible and thoughtful they are. The nurse was professional and the whole injection took less than a millisecond and barely felt any pain. There's an aisle with chairs spread apart so they get to monitor us for 15 minutes after our vaccines. Everything was like clockwork and it was a really pleasant experience overall! This is for the pharmacy department. I was recently badly injured in an accident and called in to find out what my options were for getting my medication. I was told there were only two options, come in and get it myself by 8pm or have someone else come in for me. I drag my very sick ass to the pharmacy only to realize they've gone on a half hour lunch break and closed up! Which no one mentioned on the phone!!!! I am waiting in pain with very serious injuries so they can finish eating lunch!!!! I found the lady I spoke to on the phone, who of course insists she told me there would be a lunch break. Of course you did! That's why I showed up violently ill during your break!!!! And the store manager was nonplussed by the entire episode. This place is empty bc the vast majority of people who live nearby know they can do better elsewhere. read more

I've had a nasty cough that I've been trying to get rid of. On the way home, the roommate and I dropped by CVS to grab a few things. We stopped by on Monday, June 11th around 5:30pm. I really only needed cough drops and syrup, so I headed straight to that section. Ended up getting a big bag of Halls Cough Drops: Triple Soothing Action ($5.99) and a big bottle of Delsym Cough Syrup: 12 Hour Cough Relief ($18.49). Check out was relatively easy. Just went to the self check out register and scanned my items. For the delsym, someone did need to come by to verify my age as I think you need to be over 18 to buy it? First time I encountered it so I thought it was kind of funny. Convenient CVS as I live close by. read more

This is rating is a pharmacy review: Pharmacist I spoke with other the phone could best be described as cold and lacking compassion. It doesn't take much to make someone feel heard, but she was more interested in cutting me off and providing cold, generic responses. In regards to getting a covid test, you have to book these many days, if not over a week, out. The pharmacy has an attitude problem. I came up to the counter to pick up my prescription, obviously since I'm at the pick up window. The pharm tech looks at me & ask are you picking up? I said yeah, last name is... then she asked me if I downloaded the App. I said no... I got the prescription then she looks at me as if she's annoyed & told me if I download the app it would be faster. I said yeah I'm not going to download the App. Her whole face and demeanor changed. She carried that attitude until she finished checking me out. I'm glad she loves her job & wants to push the whole App thing, but honey... there are more customers who probably won't download the App. If you're going to get angry every time someone denies to do it. There are two things I like about CVS: Better mass-market skincare lines and really great employees. I always seem to be in a mad dash when I stop at CVS and I'm very directional: pair of swim goggles, birthday card, gum then zip zip, I'm out. About this particular location: Its lighting is awful, casting lots of shadows and the entryway could use a daily sweep and a weekly hosing down to banish the grime. I would like to state that my sibling and I got accused of stealing from this cvs and was treated with disrespect. I was pulling out my own plastic water bottle out of my bag and a worker approached us and told us to go pay at the front. Confused and offended, I told her politely that we were not taking anything. She then says "sure" in a rude and disrespectful tone as if we DID steal something and walks away. We were left in shock about how terrible the service here is and how we got accused of something we did not do. My sibling and I did not touch a single item for the entirety of our time when we were in this store, yet we were accused. I understand that many teenagers and students attempt to shoplift but we are respectful people and are 4.0 students. We respect elders and would never attempt to shoplift. I am absolutely disgusted by this employee's actions. To the employee who is about 4' 11 wearing glasses, You are disgusting and it is inappropriate to accuse people of something they did not do. I scheduled a covid test for today. I arrived 20 minutes ahead of time. There was a sign at the parking lot, indicating that they have drive through but no one was there. Apparently, the tests are being done on the roof parking but no one bothered placing a sign. Then, for some reason, my insurance information didn't go through, on their end. She has been trying to resolve this for about an hour. She can't seem to be able to resolve this nor to run the test without the insurance. I have been sitting in my car for over an hour now, cars keep driving through, people are being tested and I am just waiting in my car. Without a doubt, the staff at this pharmacy are top-notch. They are a well-oiled machine. Someone (everyone) is doing something right here. This is the second time, that we had trouble finding COVID vaccine appointments, but this pharmacy has offered to contact us if there were any left over at the end of the evening. We were able to get an appointment and although we expected to wait a long time, we didn't have to. Seriously impressed. They are kind, accomodating (when possible), and responsive. This new CVS is nice. Just remember you can't buy giftcards with the self checkout. But the employees are nice. The coupons were great that first week they came out. As a student who went to the store after school, they asked me to wait outside and form a line as the store was relatively empty. They'd let other people in, such as adults and young children. As a large group formed, they still told us to wait. People began to leave and the "group" I was in was a bit annoyed. I just want to say bad service.
