I love the Filipino lady who works at the pharmacy. And I feel horrible right now for not remembering her name, since she always remembers mine. Because of her, I change my rating. This place is now officially CVS but its pretty much the same crap in the store but now I need to carry another "savings card" in my wallet. I basically come here when I'm too lazy to drive to the grocery store or Target since its the closest store to me. I've gotten everything here from a gallon of milk, soda, protein bars, cards and even a pair of pliers. Sure I could've gotten all that stuff cheaper elsewhere but it's more convenient to come here and over pay when your in lazy mode. Oh and extra bonus for this place having a Bank of America ATM outside, saves me a trip to the bank cause you guessed it, I'm lazy! read more

I'm saddened to see so many negative reviews on here! I love my CVS. Yes, it was much cheaper when it was Longs but this is still a true neighborhood place. The employees know me and this makes using the pharmacy so much easier and more pleasant. I have lived other places in the Bay Area and trust me -- other CVS stores are HORRIBLE compared to this one. We are lucky to have this store and the vast majority of the people who work here are lovely, friendly, and efficient. read more

From the start I felt right at home at this branch as well as the one on Rose Ave. in Berkeley. The first day I came to this branch the manager assisted me in changing the battery in my watch. He was very helpful and this impressed me. I have returned to both CVS stores because they have that personal touch. The El Cerrito branch fills my "Vet's" prescription. he is like family to me and the Pharmacy Department treated his prescription just professionally as a "human" prescription. Knowing pet are parts of a person family I value there efforts. Several times I did not have to go to a Drug store, but when I returned to this one they remembered my name. I found the shelves stocked with a variety of items so have saved me time to go all around to get stuff. I would strongly recommend this branch and the Branch on Rose street since they are places which "Know you by your name". read more

Im from Canada and been going to this CVS by the marina bay a lot coz there's not much to do around here and i have never seen such bad service with this staff worker. every fricken time when I go there this older fijian tanned blonde dye short hair lady cashier greets you with a bitch face look. She never smiles. One time she argued with her staff worker on front of customers about how she is fed up with people meaning her staff that doesn't tell her their all going on break and complained that she's the only one on the floor. She whined about this incident during checkout with customers. And then when I give her big bill for change she complained on front of me and everyone that she doesn't do big bills coz she doesn't have enough change to give back and did it with an attitude. Totally unprofessional. And every time I go there there shelves are always empty and doesn't replenish within 2 weeks to 1 month later. I'm very observant. That place need to retrain their staff about what it means and how important to deliver excellent customer service and professionalism as well with respect amongst their staff. You guys need more ranch chips by the way. read more

I work across the street from this Long's and I really try hard not to come here because I've had several bad experiences from their manager and staff. Their products and specials are great - just like other Longs but when it comes to service, it sucks! Their manager is so bossy with her staff (she's that short-haired middle-eastern lady with thick make-up and always have that Hitler face). Whenever I shop there, I hear her yelling at the person behind the register or to the person stocking the shelves for no reason. One time, I tried to return something because I bought another on sale from another store and they won't let me return it because the manager was not there. That doesn't sound right. I thought that the manager should always be around. Should the customer wait for a manager to be around to get their returns taken care of? What if there was an emergency or something and there is no manager to take care of the situation? Were they lying to me? Thoughts were just streaming in my head. It's unheard of. The was the first and last time I've heard that from a store. Also, a piece of advice, when they have something on sale, always make sure that they ring you in for the right price because it only happens 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time, you have to walk them to the isle and show them where you got the product and it's sale price marked in the shelf. This morning was my final draw. I turned in my underwater camera from a vacation for film developing last Tuesday and I came back after work last Thursday to check on it because their posted film developing schedule says pick-up is Thursday after 4:30. Ofcourse, I'm excited to see how the picture turned out. Then, the manager told me that they have a new schedule (which they didn't bother to tape on top of the old schedule) and it won't be coming in until Saturday afternoon. Monday morning, I made an effort to get there really early before I go to work so I can I swing by again (I'm really eager to see my pictures) and pick up the pictures and they're not there!!! The cashier lady went with me back to the bins (as if I didn't check all the bins for my first and last name) just to tell me that they don't have it (duh!). I was really upset and she keeps on yacking about how slow their photo service is and that they don't get deliveries on weekends (their manager just told me to come back on Saturday!) and even followed me to the door. I was already outside the door and she yelled at me "hey!" and said, "you should call first before you come and pick it up". This is really the last time I'll ever come to this Long's. I've been to many different Long's and this was the worst of all the stores (including non-Longs) that I've ever been. I wish they'll have a new management and get rid of that manager or at least put her into a "manager training camp"! read more

Because I recently moved near this CVS pharmacy, on April 21, I filled some new prescriptions and transferred some old ones. Even though I gave the pharmacy my insurance card, wrote down everything they needed to fill these prescriptions, and provided them with my daytime telephone number, when I went back the next day to pick up my prescriptions, the pharmacy staff hadn't bothered to get insurance approval and tried to charge me full price for the prescriptions. They also had only four of my seven prescriptions ready (but never bothered to call me) and told me to come back the next day, after 5:00 p.m. to pick up the remaining three. When I returned the next day as instructed, only two of the remaining three prescriptions had been filled. The pharmacist told me that the last prescription, which is a rather common generic, was "out of stock" and wouldn't be filled until May 6. So, in order to fill one batch of prescriptions, none of which are unusual and all of which are on my insurance company's formulary, I will have had to make at least four trips, when I should have only had to make two (one to present the prescriptions and another to pick them up). I very carefully made sure the pharmacy had all my paperwork and insurance information in order, but the staff at this CVS never bothered to process any of the information or call me when it knew my prescriptions would be delayed. Lastly, for a pharmacy to delay filling a common, generic prescription for two weeks or more in totally unacceptable. Unfortunately, since the paperwork for the transfer of this prescription has already been completed, I'll pick up my generic after May 6, and then re-transfer all of my prescriptions back to Safeway, even though that is further for me to travel. If I could give them MINUS 5 ( -5) stars I will. Do not go there. Hard to explain their incompetence (or something else?); they have too inept or dishonest cashier. Or they are working with instructions to cheat you out. That is my honest opinion. I went to buy milk and kitchen zip bags; I had a $3+$2+$0.75 coupons; bill added to $8.61 without the $3 and $2 coupons that I gave them (they did discount 0.75 cents). I gave a $10 bill and commented can not be $8.61 if you are considering all the coupons. The cashier said we will cancel the charges and doing again; she returned $8.39 dls from my $10 I paid, and she said let's do it again-I ask why you keep my 10dls and return 8.39? -I had not purchased anything yet at that point; she said because I am canceling the transaction! She called the manager who explained that was only 1 dls and some things cents the difference! she needed over 30 minutes to verify if I was right what I was explaining her that had just happened. I left without purchasing anything and I will never put my feet there. They stilled my time, my $1.61 and made me so angry that my mouth felt dry of being so upset. Please if you do not want to have a similar experience, avoid going there. Just a block away there is a supermarket that can sell you milk too. Prof. Macdonald. read more

Most of the times when I go here the cashiers are so friendly, but sadly it's always such an unpleasant visit when paulene an Indian worker is working cashier. Last time I asked her for a raincheck and she said she couldn't give it to me just because there was a high demand on it. High demand or not you cannot deny a raincheck to a customer. When I went today I had a lot of things and I had coupons but she had the nerve to ask me if I could wait for the next person in line to go before me because I had too many things after I had already done my first transaction. How much more rude can you be to a customer, I waited in line and it's not like I cut anyone so why would you just shove me off to the side just because I had a 12 item transaction and that was too much for you to do. I like this cvs and all the other workers just not paulene. 3 stars just because the guy who normally helps me check out is friendly all the time and is respectful even if I have a big transaction. I used to give them higher ratings but they usually have only one cashier. They also seem to run out of 24 hour sudafed every time I am sick, you'd think they'd stock more for cold and flu season. They also pulled the Chase ATM so if I want cash I have to use the B of A for a fee. It is only ATM in neighborhood. read more
