I have made several attempts to receive the Shingles Vaccine and still have not received any resolve, the CVS employee has stated that the Vaccine is not covered under our health insurance which is United Healthcare. My husband called UnitedHealthcare and he was told that the Shingles Vaccine was covered 100%. The CVS Pharmacy must submit the Shingles Vaccine as a MEDICAL Claim, Not Pharmacy Claim. I will gladly contact the CEO (LJM) and 7 On Your Side to resolve this issue. This is our second negative issue with CVS... convenient drugstore near where i live. this used to be long's drugs until a few years ago, when cvs caremark acquired them and changed the store name to cvs pharmacy. as far as i know, all of the long's drugs in mountain view have now been converted to cvs pharmacy. a little history and trivia there. my main reason for coming here is to stock up on my favourite sunblock, mission athletecare, which is distributed to only a few select drug and healthcare stores. however, not every cvs carries this brand of sunblock as i've checked several other stores. this particular location does have the sunblock in stock, and has it in stock every time i visit this store, so i'm happy to keep coming here to avoid being burned by the california sun. checkout lines are never long and staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Pharmacy lines are particularly long at this CVS location, and while the employees do their best, the wait can be quite frustrating! The pharmacists are friendly when you finally do get up to the front. There are relatively few employees at the front portion of the store, so I often wait for 5+ minutes until a cashier is present?! read more

This place has gone downhill in a hurry. I don't know if it's new management, new pharmacist, or CVS taking over, but it's terrible now. The customer service reps in the pharmacy are under-trained, slow and unknowledgeable. The lines get longer and longer and the wait to get meds is 10-15 minutes longer than it used to be. And it's not just me, I hear and talk to people in line taking about how bad it's been lately. But today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm switching pharmacies. I had a major root canal today - not your typical root canal (long story short, it was part 2 of a 2-part root canal...I had to come back to finish it). Anyway, I was in pain, on heavy meds and numb on the entire left side of my face. I was in no shape for driving or waiting at Longs. So I begged my fiancee to go get the meds they called in for me. She left school to go get them. Longs said they had no records of medication for me. I called the dentist and they said they called an hour ago. I called her and told her to go back in and try it again. Again - they said "nothing". I called the dentist AGAIN and they called Longs this time. The dentist called back and said "I don't know what's going on, but they are there". So I told my fiance to go back to school and I'll take care of it. I called Longs myself and they told me "yes, we have 3 prescriptions for you". So I got in my car - in pain - and went up there. Guess what: "we don't have anything for you". I lost my cool - went nuts in front of everyone. They ended up looking all over the place and FINALLY found the order. It was not filled yet (this was 2 hours after this all started). They told me to wait 15-20 minutes for them to fill it. I was in too much pain - and too frustrated - to do that...so I left. I guess I won't get my medication tonight. Thanks a lot, Longs/CVS. My mother in-law came yesterday to get her COVID vaccine done. They gave her wrong Shingles shot instead and their excuse was they got busy so they mixed up wrong person. They are so stupid and inexperienced. No excuses should be excepted for their wrong doing. If anyone are going there please make sure have they verify your name before get your shot. I used to like this Long's better than the one on El Camino, but it still sucks! I wish I could link my review of the El Camino Longs to emphasize how awful they both are. Last week I went to buy Sudafed (which of course you have to get from the pharmacist, thanks all you meth addicts). The person in front of me was a Longs employee. Her order wasn't ready and she said, out loud "I better leave and come back because the lady behind me is breathing down my neck." Ok, first of all, I was standing a suitable distance away and I had been waiting quietly for 5 minutes. Plus, you are a Long's employee! Then, they were OUT of Sudafed. OMG & WTF! I wanted to hurt somebody. The pharm tech was nice enough to show me where the non-meth making Sudafed was, but it was too late. I was already pushed over the edge. This CVS is super close to my house and next to a Starbucks so plus plus. But I almost always have a problem with my prescription here! They say it will be auto-refilled every month and for a while I got text messages letting me know it is ready, but for about a year now I dont get notified and it's not ready when I go to pick it up. I ask every time for an auto-refill and watch as the pharmacy person sets it up for me but it never seems to work. But I'm patient, and it only takes about 20 minutes to fill so I wait. Plus I can read a magazine while I wait so it's only a little annoying. They're fully stocked with all the other necessities of life. read more

In the interest of full disclosure, I have an anti-CVS bias. Not sure why, just don't like the chain. Was NOT happy when they bought Long's Drugs, which I always had liked. Not impressed with CVS at all. Today's visit was just not a good one. Frazzled or just plain grumpy cashier that appeared to be overwhelmed by the "busy" lunch hour crowd, I guess.. Moving in slow motion... And apparently the only cashier on duty in the entire store. When she FINALLY called on the PA system for another checker (a request that went unanswered even after two requests), the line behind me was about 5-6 people long. She mumbled her two requests of me (did I have a "CVS extra care" card, and the total amount of my purchase) and I had to ask her to repeat both. Handed me my receipt and change without a word... Arrived at the pharmacy and was told the only pharmacist at work was on break from 1pm to 1:30 pm. Waited till 1:40pm and still not showing up. Asked the cashier and was told the pharmacist was in break room and would come out when ready. No one knows when that is exactly. I received an automatic notification that my prescription would be ready on 12/23. When I arrived to pick it up on 12/27, it was clear that no attempt had been made to prepare the prescription by the pick-up date and I was asked to wait in the store while it was prepared (which I elected not to do). Same for a second and third prescription, all of which were supposed to be ready days earlier. Then after I left, I received a call saying that they don't even have one prescription in stock and would take several days to get it, making it more than a week late. Knowing that nothing will be started until I come in person, and then I will be expected to wait for it, makes me not want to get prescriptions here. read more

Terrible customer service. I was looking for something a bit obscure. Eventually I found two assistants at the pharmacy counter who were so busy yakking to each other that they didn't even notice me. When I called (politely) to get their attention, the only thing that concerned them was that I'd crossed some invisible line and had to be shooed away. I used to work at one of the fast food places in the plaza where this is located, so I'd pop in sometimes when I wanted a quick snack or needed some Pepto Bismol (yay for chronic illnesses, right?). The pharmacists/techs were friendly and answered any questions I had about my medicines or chronic health condition, even though I primarily do my pharmacy business with Walgreens! The interior of the store is a bit dated and sad, but what CVS doesn't look like a throwback to the 90's/early 2000's? Seen workers hiding in quieter isles texting rather than doing their jobs, but whatever - I'd probably do the same thing lol. read more

Pharmacy needs work. Wait too long and inconsistent wait times. Told prescription would be filled in 10-15 minutes by pharmacist, came back in 20 and was told another 10-15 by cashier. I asked Cashier in pharmacy to check with pharmacist filling prescription as pharmacist told me she would expedite it but cashier just checked the computer and said the pharmacist forgot to process it. I asked could she check with the pharmacist as the pharmacist had assured me it would be ready and didn't seem likely to overcommit as I had indicated I was willing to come back later in the day if it couldn't be filled right away. Had the cashier opened her mouth and COMMUNICATED human to human to the pharmacist the customer experience would have been much better. 30 seconds later upon walking to front of store to leave - I hear my name called - prescription is ready. Back in line again. Do they tell you 10-15 minutes on purpose so you walk around and buy things? read more

CVS Pharmacy Motto: never admit a mistake, never apologize, the customer is always wrong. I picked up a perscription today. There were supposed to be two and there was only one. I asked repeatedly about the other perscription which they swore had never been called in my the doctor. I asked them to search their computer. Nope. I asked them to search again. Oh ya, there was another perscription but the insurance would only cover half of it so they didn't fill any of it. Didn't bother to ask if I wanted to pay for the other half. They just made it dissappear and acted like I was crazy to be upset. The worst customer service ever. One of the clerks is always pissed off and rude to all the customers. Where do they find these people? They must pay dirt low wages. I'm not surprised that almost all the Yelp reviews are negative. read more

Horrible. Awful. This place is so dysfunctional! The pharmacy tells you they JUST received your doctor's order. "feel free to shop, we a busy and it will take awhile " and I'm not busy?!?! This place has sent me home with only half of the pills making me come back. No inconvenience to them! Again today, and a prescription from one of their own CVS Minute Clinics. But I had proof of the prescription with me. They couldn't even figure out how to contact the CVS minute clinic clinician! oops, so sad too bad for the customer! I was told my prescription will be available at 1 pm. I got there at 4 pm. I waited in line for 15 minutes and when I was serviced I was told my prescription was not ready. I waited for another 15 minutes and was Told they didn't not have the medicine. I was told they are shorthanded. This happened two times within 2 months. I've never really had a problem with this CVS, except for the one time I was having a super bad allergy attack late at night and thought this was a 24 hour pharmacy. It is NOT a 24 hour pharmacy, just FYI. The store is open, not the pharm. Now that we've got that out of the way... It's a little overpriced on a lot of items, but it's a CVS. What do you expect? All I know is when I needed to pick up my meds today, the pharm tech who helped me was super friendly and helpful, answered all my questions. I have been using this pharmacy for my prescriptions for well over a decade now. The current pharmacist Benjamin is one of the best I've ever known. He keeps the techs in line, makes difficult insurance calls, and always gets me what I need, and I am NOT an easy case to say the least. Ben advocates for me and deals with doctors, insurance companies, and customers with the utmost respect. I do not plan on changing pharmacies anytime soon, I am quite happy where I am. read more

First of all, whenever I go to this CVS, there is only one checkout line and a lot of disgruntled people. I'm a pretty patient person, so this doesn't bother me personally, but they never seem to open more lines. I may just shop at non-peak times. The freezers are always barren, and the food selection sucks. There are usually good sales on household items, personal items, etc, especially with CVS brand products. Now, it's just a CVS, right? Experiences here, at least for the majority of people, are probably only mediocre anyway...but dear LORD, this CVS (all CVS locations? Never noticed that much, till now.) is so overpriced!! $1.50 for a pack of gum!? I mean, gum's kind of a ripoff anywhere, but still... $6.00 for Noxzema (not the exact kind I was looking for, since they don't appear to even stock the classic cream) and still $4.99 for their store brand cream, which I tried once, and never will again. Also, they charge up to $8.50 for a bath puff, which seems ridiculous. Seriously?? Walgreens (which I personally find just OK) sells the full line of Noxzema for a whole dollar cheaper, and Walmart for $4.90. And hey, Rite Aid is sort of a twilight zone, but with the kind of subpar service I received today - well, I'd rather be helped slowly than have to wait almost 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge that I wanted to check out. (You can barely even find an employee to ask, and when you finally do, they'll give you a vague answer like "I'll be there soon." Great.) Such a waste, of time, of money, of effort, really. I'm considering changing my pharmacy service to a different drugstore...and maybe also returning today's Noxzema, since I found one hidden away in a drawer. (At least the tubs last a fairly long time...) Next time, I'll just skip CVS and reorder online with Walmart, honestly. read more

I came here on a thursday afternoon and there was only one person working the drop off and pick up counters. After waiting 20 minutes, I found out they did not have my prescription in stock (it was just a toothpaste so no emergency). I was told I would get a text on Friday afternon, after 5pm, when my prescription would be ready. No text all weekend. I was not given the RX number, so when I called I couldn't get through on the automated system. I also could not get through on the service line because no one picks up the phone here. Finally, I came in on Monday morning. Still not ready. They asked me to come back when the text comes through. When? they had no idea. I took my prescription down the street to the 24 hour walgreens, which had it in stock, and it took 5 minutes to fill. It was $5 more expensive so FYI if that is a consideration and if insurance doesn't cover the meds. I wonder if Walgreens would have price matched, but was in a hurry so I didn't ask. Go to the Walgreens instaed--it is a much more pleasant experience. read more

CarePass Alert! Generally, I've liked this place. Yes, the pharmacy lines can create a wait (and they could use more room for the lines), but they are usually reasonable to deal with. BUT - yesterday, my husband went to pick up a prescription. The lady at the pharmacy counter BADGERED him, until he finally signed up for a CarePass. "Why wouldn't you want to save $10 a month?" she kept asking. Then (fortunately, as it turns out), she couldn't get it to work to give him the big discount. He has spent hours TRYING TO CANCEL the pass - with no luck - calls send you online, and online sends you nowhere. Our guess is, she blew it. But we will keep watching his credit card. So I came here to return a 60$ mouth guard. The lady Conchita helped me and I noticed she was looking at the screen weird but still processed my return. I look at my receipt after leaving and see she shortened me money on my return. She rang the product like it cost me 47 instead of 60 so i only got 52$ back which is incorrect. I came in yo ask them to give me the rest of the money I explained to Gregory the situation and he just looked me like I was dumb. And asked me wo how much do we owe you what do you want? Like what the hell. I want my money you guys owe me and who are you to talk to me like that. So unprofessional. Instead of apologizing for what happened he just tells me to step aside so i can do the math on how much they owe me while he continues to help people who just got in line. I told him to give me the money they owed me like what kind of question is that. So he said ok about 8 bucks then. I said so your giving me exactly 60$ as if I didnt pay tax on this? And he says yeah tax is on everything including the 2 5$ bags you bought. Like what!?! Exactly my point your only giving me what I paid the 60% not including the tax!! He even still tried giving me the 8$ on a store credit. How ridiculous. Worst CVS I have ever been too. Worst customer service. He doesn't even have a name tag, I had to ask him his name so I can write this review. What kind of unprofessional people do you have here. No customer service experience at all. Yup this place is still terrible. Just wanted to point out that incompetence has also infected Los Altos Pharmacy (now "Safeway Compounding Pharmacy"). The best place to go for prescriptions seems to be the new Walgreen's at El Camino Real and Escuela (just around the corner). I've been going to this store for two years and until now have really enjoyed the store and its convenient location. Since CVS acquired Longs and the management changed this store has gotten pretty bad. The selection is much smaller, the service is worse, the store is cluttered/disorganized, and they are always pushing their CVS card on you. The shelves are about 3 feet shorter and about a fourth of the store was walled off with a new wall and that area is no longer a part of the store and has no merchandise. There has to be a much smaller selection than before. My biggest beef with CVS/Longs is the huge change in service recently. I don't know if it's new management or if they brought in new employees but they are less helpful and the lines are longer. At first I started noticing little things like there would be customers heatedly complaining at the registers. I just assumed those customers were just having a bad day since I had never had a problem at Longs, after all. That all changed when I wanted to buy one of these items that are supposedly on sale with your CVS card. When I get up to the register, they rang it up and I didn't get 50% off on the second item even though I had my CVS card with me. I tell the cashier and he doesn't do anything. He doesn't believe me when I tell him the sign for this item says the second item is 50% off so he asks me to walk him back to where I picked up the drinks and show him. Sure enough, it still says it's on sale so when we get up to the front I assume he is going to ring up my order. Instead he mumbles about how he isn't sure because the computer didn't give me the discount. Any other store would have just manually put in the discount, right? You can't put out a sign and charge someone a different price! Meanwhile the minutes are ticking by and the line is getting longer. I don't even care about the discount anymore I just want to buy my other items and leave but he won't remove them from my order, until finally I complain to the other cashier and she lets me buy my other things and leave the extra items which I only put in my basket because they were supposedly on sale. Where did the Longs employees go? I don't see any of the old faces any more, so did CVS fire all of them when they took over? This place used to be a pretty decent drug store and convenient, but I guess I'll have to try Walgreens or something now. read more

This place gets one star because the employee who was called to help ring people up at the pharmacy couldn't be bothered to stop messing with products one aisle away and do her job. She was called at least 3 times over the PA system to help at the pharmacy and she yelled back--not kidding, she yelled back--that she just couldn't do that right now. That is unacceptable in general--whether your customers are buying candy bars or socks. It should be a fire-able offense when your customers are waiting for medication. The understaffed pharmacy employees were understandably stressed but did their best to keep up without the support they requested--and they requested it multiple times. Kudos to them for trying. The employee who couldn't be bothered to get behind the pharmacy counter and get people their prescriptions needs retraining or a pink slip. I only wish I remembered her name. read more

Sigh. So Today, one of the cashier (I forgot his name) gave me the most unacceptable attitude I ever experienced in my life.He was so rude :( .I used my debit card to pay. There was green for debit ,Red for (I forgot) &something else to press.I ACCIDENTALLY pressed the red button because he was really rushing me.Then he got so pissed that you can tell by the tone of his voice. "Now I have to do it over again"with a tone of attitude. Screw this place.i even apologized yet he didn't even give a damn. What BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I even said sorry when I shouldn't have. He was talking to me like I am stupid.. I couldn't do anything because I was too shock by the way he treated me.
