Rest stop on the way up the Los Altos Hills. The place is decently clean, small convenience store area, open area for pump with easy access to get back on the road. They have a bathroom that isn't absolutely horrid or dirty, and also offer mechanical services. The worker who greeted me seemed nice, and had no problem showing me where the bathroom was without giving me the stanky eye or quizzing me on if I had bought gas! read more

This chevron has the slowest gas pumps I've ever seen! It took roughly 5 minutes to pump 4 gallons of gas. Is this a chevron thing?

They now charge for air? Because I have an MC and a couple of cars, I hate having to drive up to a place and pay for Air. This place used to have free air and I went here for gas, but now go to another one. Okay, after reading the owner's response - I realize why they set-up the air that way. I'm changing my 1 to 4 starts because I didn't realize the air machines are rented, just like washing machines are in apartment buildings. I could see the wear and tear of these machines rack up because people snap that hose back. read more

I've gotten gas here a few times and have found the prices to be fairly reasonable. However, the four stars goes to the quick and efficient and cost effective repair to my tire one morning. I had a nail puncture my tire and they did a great job of patching it. I was on my way to the airport to pick up my sister and I wasn't even late-- despite the small delay having emergency tire repair. read more

We had a busted water hose on the way to work. Luckily this happened near a mechanic shop but the owner definitely took advantage of our situation. He said he had to order a new hose and I could tell he was lying because he sort of gave a subtle look to his mechanic. He told us it would take a couple of hours to get the part and replace the hose and encouraged us to go to the nearest Starbuck's. We wandered around downtown los altos for about 30-45 minutes, then returned and he questioned why we came back early and encouraged us to go get a coffee or something. I told him we would wait. Within 15 minutes our car was miraculously ready. When we got to work and opened the hood we saw that all they did was cut the hose and reattach it (since it broke close to the joint). He could've done this quick job in 15 minutes but he took advantage of us and lied so he could charge us more. I am sometimes in need of gas when I'm in the area but will never spend another penny in this Chevron station. read more

Sucks! I would NEVER go there again...My debit card "would not work" 2x...So I go in and the ass behind the counter said my card was at fault and theres nothing he could do! I was gonna pay cash but then he said "your money's no good here" So I went to a 76 station down the street put the same card in and IT WORKED!!! read more

I agree with the other reviewers, Jae, seems pretty nice and honest. However, I was a little annoyed at having to pay $47.50 for them to check and see why my engine light was on and all they did was reset my sensors (no parts required). Some of the big chains will check your engine light for free. He did tell me ahead of time that he would be charging me so I realize that I could have gone somewhere else. read more

Under new ownership. Would give zero star if possible. Went there yesterday morning and asked if they still do service. The employee ignored me and was belligerent after asking for the third time. Will switch to 76 down the street . Owner needs to train employees in customer service. read more

I have to agree with Marc S. I feel that the guy here is honest and straight forward in not having to do any unnecessary work.

Had fluids in my Jeep Cherokee changed at 90k miles. It turned into more work than they were expecting, but they didn't hassle me about trying to change the estimated price. I could have done the work myself, but I don't like dealing with stuck bolts, auto parts stores and fluid disposal so I handed it off to them. I watched some of the work and it was clear that they were actually being careful and taking the time to do the job correctly. The manager took some time to explain why things were taking longer than expected. I was happy that they noticed and pointed out that my shocks should be replaced - a problem I was already aware of. They'll be getting more of my business. read more

Dealing with car problems REALLY stresses me out. So when I have a positive experience, it makes my week. Thanks to Village Chevron, my week just got a whole lot better. My husband and I went here for the first time to get a brake light repaired. Our car has a number of other issues, but we weren't sure we'd be able to get them looked at that day. They got us right in with very short notice, handled most of the issues with minimal intervention (and recommended where to go for issues they are not equipped to address), and went the extra mile by patching up a scrape on the car at no charge. Through the whole thing, both employees were very friendly. I tend to be a little paranoid about getting ripped off with car stuff, but these guys seemed well-intentioned and trustworthy. read more

My 2001 BMW 325i wouldn't kickover and start, so I had it towed to Village Chevron, and an hour later, the manger and/or owner called and said my engine had died. I said I had never heard of an engine dying, but the owner said the engine was completely dead, with compressions on all cylinders about 1/3rd of what they should be. I again said I had never heard of an engine dying, absent perhaps running the engine without oil, but the owner/manager insisted the engine was dead and I needed a new or used one. After googling why engines don't start, and learning there can be several non-lethal causes, I had the car towed to the BMW dealership nearby, and within an hour, they diagnosed a faulty right fuel pump as the cause, and the technician had a good laugh upon hearing my story. I don't know if the owner/manager and his mechanic were incompetent or trying to make money off me. My speculation is incompetence. Either way I would never take any car there for service. read more
