I had the mechanic at the Arco do repairs on my 2004 Ford Explorer. He could of really ripped my off but did not, he was very honest and only did necessary repairs. I though I had a bad tie rod on the front end and needed new front breaks and other front end work and he told me that it was only the bad front tires I had which I knew needed replacement. He said the front breaks had at least 12,000 miles on them so wait. The rear brakes needed replacement which I knew. The vehicle has 90,000 on it and the rear brakes have never been done and he found a bad rear bearing. I thought the spark plugs would need replacement and all fluids needed replacement as did the hoses and belts, etc. and I would of paid for all that and he checked them out and said they were all fine. The spark plugs he said call for replacement at 100,000 and he recommended to wait as it is at least a 2 hour job and the plugs are $16.00 each and as I only drive 4,000 miles a year or less I can probably get by for 3 years without putting money into it. I went in there expecting to pay at least $1,500.00 for more and only paid out $700.00 for the rear brakes and a rear bearing.
I also brought my wives Mercedes to his as I had the low beams on the lights out. I pulled out the bulbs and replaced them and they work fine and only charged me less than $3.00 for the bulbs. The dealer would of charged $250.00 for a diagnostic charge at least.
Honest mechanics are rare so I highly recommend the mechanic at the Gagliardi Arco by the Woodside Plaza. read more
