The CVS Pharmacy on Lighthouse is an embarrassment. Always a line of at least a twenty minute wait. Usually only one person at cash register to work with customers. They don't seem to get that it might be a good idea to add more people to move customers faster. When you finally get to the front of the line often they don't have your full order of medication no matter how long ago it was called in or dropped off. If you have more that 1 perscription chances are that they won't have at least one of them ready. They will tell you it will take an additional 15 minutes so you start all over in line again. Usually it still isn't complete. Easier to come back the next day with fingers crossed. When I complain the only answer I get is that they have trouble getting employees. Maybe they should pay better and offer benefits and more would apply. CVS must be making LOTS of money during covid. How much to you think they make on shots alone? Although it may be free to the community believe me they aren't doing it for free.They must have figured out that it doesn't matter if they have any customer service to affect their bottom line. Although they are very convenient I am going to move my prescriptions to somewhere that is more professional. Just not worth the ordeal and frustration. read more

Horrible store!!!!! Waited to get a prescription that had been called in several hours and it took hours to pick up!!! Nightmare service level!! She then had the nerve to tell us "it had been ready and sitting there for awhile" even though she saw our family waiting. To make it worse we were on vacation!!! Would skip this location at all costs!!!! read more

Yet another dismal review for CVS on Fremont Ave. It's 1230 Saturday 19 October. The current brain-dead staff on duty can't figure out how to assist a customer who has been using their services since it was Long's Drugstore. That fact doesn't affect the current staff on duty. No help. Usually when a refill's prescription runs out over a weekend--its happened to me 6 or 7 times over the past 8 or so years I've had this prescription--the pharmacy gives or sells me a hand full to get me through to Monday or Tuesday when the Dr. can approve it. This time, no dice. No explanation either. "We just don't do that". Huh? Hey Buddy-Pharmacist-Bro, yes, you have done that repeatedly for me over the years. And there's no one higher in the food chain on duty there to appeal to until Monday when presumably some other unhelpful nameless bureaucrat will blow me off with no consideration. The over-worked-but-appropriately-paid staff could at least act like they care. Instead, I get a yawn from Buddy-Pharma-Bro. I guess no one at the pharmacy cares enough about their job, their business and their patient-customers. My wife just left to go try talking them into helping. I told her not to waste her time. UPDATE: wife's back: NO JOY. Laughable, almost. The idiots told my wife I should go to a doc-in-the-box, get another prescription, and then come back. Sure--I'LL GET RIGHT ON THAT. Don't go here for passport photos. Waste of time, money, and effort. Find another place to get your passport photos taken. My boyfriend and I went to this store to get his passport photos taken on Sunday, September 8th. We specifically mentioned we wanted the photos to be of the size 2 inches by 2 inches. We confirmed the size of the photos again with the guy at checkout. We went home feeling we have everything we need to submit his passport application. Next thing we know is his application was rejected because the photos were not the correct size. The photos were smaller than the required size. You would think the guys at CVS know what they are doing. $14.99 down the drain. While re-submitting his application, we got his photos taken at Costco (for half the price) and they were perfect! read more

This review is strictly about the pharmacy. The line seems to always be long and it takes such a long time to fill the prescriptions. Earlier this week I dropped off two prescriptions. As these were new presciptions for my mother, I stated I would wait for them. Upon picking them up an hour later, I was informed that one of the scipts had to be ordered. When I inquired as to what time I could pick it up I was told "anytime after 2:00 PM." The next day at 2:25 I drove up to the drive up window and was not acknowledged or helped for almost five minutes. I was then told that the order was not ready. I am a full time caregiver for my mother. I left her alone thinking I would only be gone for a very short time. Now I was being told that it "MIGHT be done in 15 minutes." Since this was a pain med that she had already waited an extra day for I had no choice but to wait. The customer service at this pharmacy leaves a bit to be desired. Had I been told I needed to call before I came in, I would have. Medicines are important and most often there are very significant reasons that one is there picking up a prescription. I did not have time to waste and felt that I could have been given more accurate information. I also think they should review their procedure for staffing or attending the drive up window. I may be wrong, but it seems they have no way of knowing how many people are waiting in line. Also, there were two people who saw me waiting at the drive up, but I was acknowledged by no one. Killer customer service on Sunday... made me want to go back and shop some more and that is exactly what I did. Killer sale on Watermelon Smirnoff perfect for making jello shots this summer! The two young men that serviced me at the cashier stand really knew what was up in regards to customer service. It was busy during Memorial Day weekend and instead of being impatient these two men stepped it up kept their cool and had lovely smiles and helped each customer even though several were a bit disgruntled due to long lines etc. Thanks guys! read more

I wouldn't recommend this pharmacy. The manager is an argumentative man who is not very competent in helping with medication. He is not attentive to details, doesn't listen, and advises incorrectly (which might be costly when we deal with medication). Next time I will have to use a different pharmacy, where more knowledgeable pharmacists work and where customer service is better. read more

I always have a pleasant experience when I visit this store. It is a decent sized location and clean. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The have a nice selection of merchandise and reasonably priced. The lines are never long. I have yet to visit their pharmacy so I can't say how well they do. This is a nice location, its just off Fremont in monterey near the fairgrounds. When I have time I always go here instead of the Walgreens even thought he Walgreens is closer. read more

I like this CVS. Why? Well, let's start by saying that they're HUGE! I'm practically exhausted walking across the store and back. They have a ton of options. The after-Christmas sale items are impressive. Everything was at least 50% off, and there were a couple of aisles-worth of sale items. The pharmacy tech who helped me out was really nice, and he was FAST! After a recent trip to a local Walgreens and Rite Aid (...it's been a rough week!) I was happy to see people who knew how to serve a crowd. read more

Don't waste your time here, go to Lucky Pharmacy in Sand City. This place is a j-o-k-e. The manager of this pharmacy location is very rude and unhelpful. I get a call my prescriptions are ready so I drive over- I can't say I was surprised when the lady said "we don't have them" I come once a month for my prescriptions and they're never ready. Last night I'm seen at the ER. My prescriptions were sent in because it's in walking distance of my house. I get to CVS this morning and they have nothing at the pharmacy, no record and nothing ready, and instead of them calling Doctor to Pharmacist I'm now playing "find the miscommunication" . I left this pharmacy and now go to Lucky in Sand City. They're to say the least more caring and are willing to do their job. read more

A pretty disorganized store, but the biggest problem is that the employees don't know anything about the products they carry. If you need something medical, go somewhere where they know what they're talking about and can help you. I'd give CVS a skip for anything but the pharmacy. read more

FYI ! Bring your own bags, or pay a quarter for a new one. I bring my Trader Joe's bags ;D. So, enter your phone number on the coupon machine to get your stream of special coupons that are personal to your shopping habits and good with only your phone number. There are some good values to be enjoyed. i rather like the game, but I have plenty of time to shop. The .88 to $1 cookie packs are awesome for family, friends and co-workers. The selection of munchie foods like nuts are extensive and reasonable, when on sale. However, the best part about shopping at this particular store is the awesome staff. We are here from out of town and were just in this store. My wife had to use the bathroom and was shown the way by a very nice clerk. Another couple we are with had just made a purchase. Next thing we know some guy, acting as security, with long hair pinned up on his head, loses his mind and starts ordering us to get out of the store. He knocks on the bathroom door, where my wife is, and tells her "you have two minutes to get out or I will call the police!" What a jerk this guy is! He should be fired! Out of town guests being treated this way is a travesty and CVS needs to know what kind of inconsiderate people they have hired as CVS's face to the consumer. I will never shop at a CVS again. If you want to end up with more ailments than you came in with this is the pharmacy for you. I am not a person who easily writes a review, has to be excellent or terrible for me to take the time. I would never dream of writing one for a pharmacy but this place is that terrible. I would talk to the management because it is in such a convenient place, but they seem to be the root of the problem. You are either met with a scowl or glazed over look upon finally getting to the front of the line (always understaffed). Once you get there you are greeted like a robot (but meaner) with "Name. Date of Birth." Never a greeting. Is this such a horrible place to work because no one is ever smiling! They always get things wrong. In just the last two weeks they told my wife she no longer was covered by her insurance only our daughter was. When we got through to the insurance the next day they said they were never contacted by CVS and wasn't sure what they were talking about. Do they not understand the time sensitive nature of prescriptions? They often fax the rx to the wrong number making the customer have to call and check with the doctor to make sure they received it. They have given me the wrong Rx, the wrong amount (for my daughter who was a year old at the time), I could go on and on and on. They apologized right? No they only lay the blame at the feet of the customer, doctor, insurance co. etc etc etc. Read the other pharmacy reviews and you will read more of the same. If they had any pride they would be ashamed (particularly "Tony" I believe that is his name). If it wasn't real life it would be comical.But it is real life. So it's not funny. read more

I've been to this store on several occasions. It's usually busy, but the employees have all been kind and helpful. It's been at least 6 months since I've been there, until this morning. I was buying coffee and two ice teas. The coffee was half off, and I asked the clerk for a new cvs savings card because I lost mine. She gave me one without scanning it, and proceeded to tell me: I need to call customer service before I can use it. (Which is a lie, unless that's a new policy). I asked if there was anyway to get me the discount on my coffee, and she said, "no, sorry, do you want me to take the coffee off the bill?" I asked if she was new, and she said she'd been with the company for 17 years. In previous visits, when I forgot my card the clerk would just scan a different card without any issues. read more

The parking lot at this CVS looks like a dump! Garbage cans outside the front door are overflowing with trash. Seagull poop collects right outside the front door as you walk in. The parking space lines/striping is non-exhistant. And, when you first enter the store, you are greeted with a huge stack of some products right smack in the entry-way and have to zig-zag your way in to the store. Jeez! All this surprises me because we live in "beautiful Monterey," and have an image to uphold. I have told Management several times about the overflowing garbage cans, but nothing ever gets done. (I think this is the Manager's first job out of high school, so he's not very experienced in customer service.) read more

This CVS is horrible. The manager hit on my sister. She came home crying to me. When I asked her what happened she said the manager was so mean she had to leave. He treated her horribly, and because her boyfriend tried to defend her, he got even more angry at her. I hate this store and vowed never to go inside again or let my sister go in there alone, with an evil manager who made kept asking her a million questions about her boyfriend until she felt so uncomfortable that she could no longer stay in the store. read more

This place is a hot mess! You can't find a darn thing you need. I used to utilize this place to pick up emergency cash infusions from my parents via Moneygram since they live in a different country. After my vacation I needed an infusion from my dad and luckily he came through. Went to Moneygram to pick up my money and it no one knew what the heck to do. After 30 minutes of waiting, I just left and went to the Safeway on Fremont instead - was in and out in 10 minutes. Plus they have a Wells Fargo right there so I could deposit the check right away - Whew! The whole process at this drug store is bordering on ridiculous and hence my poor star rating. I am only giving it two stars because at least you can't be maimed or in a fist fight with anyone over parking. read more

The most terrible Pharmacy ever! I'm very sick and in pain, my Dr. submitted my prescription on line the morning of 3/4, Friday and no call from CVS. I called that evening to check if its was filled and that serves Military Tri Care they tell me they are out! Really out of a pain medication! doesn't their computer let them know when inventory is low? Shouldn't the Pharmacist have control of what's going on? So, they tell me Monday morning, and still no medication! I am retired soldier and CVS is the only Pharmacy that serves military Tri Care insurance! ok , I love this store., n I will continue to shop there, But the pharmacy is a different story.Iam a vet, n my fault I realized I ran out of one of my meds. that I need to take everyday.So I go to the VA clinic n they were nice enough to prescribe 20 pills which would hold me over till my shipment comes in.I go to CVS n they say they can t open a box for only 20 pills.So I go to walgreens n they say they don t have them.In the meantime the VA is overnighting me my order,great.I think I should be ok .without.Then I get a automated message from walgreens in Marina, saying my order is there.I do know how that happened,maybe walgreens must of contacted them.i go not sure, what s happening , n I walk out with my 20 pills.Wow, thank you Walgreens for helping a vet out...Going the xtra mile.I will continue to shop at CVS , but if I need meds.. iam going to walgreens.. thank you walgreens read more
