My family and I have been loyal patrons of Generation Pharmacy for several years, but that ended…read moretoday. Last week Monday, I called to inquire about a specific brand of medication. The representative I spoke with was curt and told me they would never offer that brand and to call other pharmacies. I said okay and asked them to not fill the prescription. After a few days of calling around, I found out CVS offered the medication so I contacted my doctor to have the prescription sent there. That same day, a package of the wrong brand arrived at my home from Generation - they filled the prescription without my permission and it was on a Friday after they closed so I could only leave a message. On Monday, a different rep called me back and said it was autofilled by their system, even though there was a note with my request to not fill the prescription. This rep offered to send someone to retrieve the incorrect meds and reassured me that my insurance would not be impacted; even though they had already billed my insurance for the meds they sent me. She transferred my prescription to CVS and the next day when I went to pick it up, CVS informed me that I need to pay out of pocket because my insurance was already billled. Because I needed the medication, I paid for it when typically this is fully covered by insurance. When I called Generation about this, the same, rude rep who I spoke with the previous week answered and was not helpful, placing the blame on the insurance company. While most of their reps are great, I will never go back because of how badly that rep screwed up. While CVS is not the best, they will at least confirm an auto-fill before fulfilling a prescription. What is most frustrating is I called Generation ahead of time and asked them to not fill the prescription and they didn't take any action to remove the auto-fill. I had to pay out of pocket even though I have insurance that would fully cover the cost! Save yourself the headache and find another pharmacy that offers reliable service and better hours.

I was told they needed to file an appeal with the insurance, but they would let me know within a week and call me with an update. 4 weeks later, with no updates and no medication, I called again. Ended up paying out of pocket because they offered to refile the appeal and call me back. In July, another prescription was called in for my son. Same process, was told they would have to call in a prior authorization. I was promised they would call me within a week to give me a status update regardless. 4 weeks later and we are now in August, still no update, no meds, no calls. I call and they say I have to reach out to the doctors office. Just absolute liars and despicable service. Go anywhere else.

On Sunday, August 2, 2026, around noon, a kind, brown-skinned lady--whose name I unfortunately…read morenever learned--took my passport photo at the Walgreens in Brunswick, Maryland. She was the only non-white staff member I noticed there at that time, and I hope this description may help management identify her and recognize her kindness. I was not feeling well that day, and the photo process took a little longer than I expected. Nevertheless, I decided to make the best of the moment and give myself the opportunity to have a better photograph than the one I had taken elsewhere. I wanted a picture that I could live with for the next ten years and that would remind me that, despite the obstacles life sometimes presents, we can still try to overcome them. Her photographic work was much better than my previous photo, although the image was slightly smaller than I would have preferred for a passport photograph. The next day, I sent my passport documents, including the photograph, to the passport processing unit. About two weeks later, I received my new passport. For the next ten years, that passport will remind me of an imperfect moment that nevertheless worked out well for me--thanks in part to the kindness of this anonymous lady. I hope that Walgreens can identify her and let her know that her small act of kindness made a meaningful difference to me.
