I love Wegmans and since it is a bit of a drive I make a list of items that are typically unique to their store. This particular Wegmans falls short of expectations! I know this store is popular in the area but the last 2 times I went there they were out of items I love. I am going to try a different one further away in the future. read more

Absolutely deplorable grocery store. Heard so much about Wegmans from my east coast friends and I come here and the service is appalling. The food bar is completely empty and when I ask if it's going to be refilled I just get blank stared from lazy employees. So I go to the area where you can order food and someone in front of me. One guy is helping him and doesn't know where anything is and the coworkers don't help. After 10 minutes, I just give up. Plenty of employees just lazing around while customers like me are waiting to be helped. Pathetic grocery store. read more

A good Wegmans. Usually has a good selection of meat. Came here just to get those pot pie. Always plenty of parking. The shopping center it is located in can get very busy. The store is always clean when I have been here. A good selection of fresh produce. When I buy my fruit here is will last 3-4 days. Some other stores I have shopped at the fruit seem to spoil overnight. I will continue to shop here when I am in the area. read more

Today stopped in during noon for some "asian" buffet stomach issues as a war vet. Told the manager and two employees you have no food and it's too hot; what's there was burning - they could care less. The rice is dried to the pan, the water boiling underneath. I know they could not care, their actions were plain - whoever is the owner of this store, your staff don't look up and never one time out of the 12 I met did I hear "can I help you?" all the management should be relieved of duty or pay them more. Wegmans on Worman Mill Road in Frederick, Md is the best. All of their food is top notch and plenty of selections. Some of their prices are a little higher than other stores but the tiny difference is worth it as you get quality, every time. For those that have never been there, try it and you will be a repeat customer. Wear comfortable shoes, the store is gigantic, lot of walking, until you remember the layout of where your items are in the store. read more

I bought a 4-1/2 pound boneless rib roast... $105!!!! It looked and smelled beautiful, covered in cracked black pepper and pieces of garlic. It was well-marbeled so should have been tender. Well... it was stringy and tough. What a huge disappointment for our family Christmas Eve dinner. The quality of the meat was just not good. I should have known better. Last year I ordered two individual Thanksgiving meals. The turkey and gravy were tasteless; the brussels sprouts were stringy and tough. I really should have known better. NEVER again!!!!! read more

Ok, so I admit I am a huge Wegmans fan. Before we moved to Maryland, I had never heard of Wegman's. Now the next house I buy will have to be near Wegman's! Let's do the highlights. 1. I wouldn't say I like cheese, but the cheese shop is worth the trip. 2. I do love seafood, and frankly, the seafood area is amazing.3. I enjoy the variety of choices available in the bread, meat, and dairy areas. Now, the lowlights. 1. They have an amazing hot/cold food bar right in the store. Why is that? What cruelty. Yes, I have fallen victim to this trap. They even had a nice eating area. Ok, that isn't a lowlight, but I had to have something bad to say! Overall, the store is clean and easy to enter and exit. The people are friendly, and it is a fun place to shop. I do recommend you go early, by midday the place is wall-to-wall shoppers. read more

Saw last fall that you were roasting green chile from New Mexico but missed the window of opportunity. Marked it on my calendar for this year - SO incredibly pleased. Got 35 lbs of hot roasted and it was completely on point. Thanks so much for bringing a taste of the good stuff here to the DMV, took me back to the burque! Wegman's hot bar is THE MOVE! So many delicious options but what really sold me was their wings and pizza bar. I went on a saturday morning so maybe that's why everything was so fresh but i don't know what exactly sold me but i had to get a few wings to try! I tried the buffalo, old bay honey, garlic parm and a dry rub i can't recall the name. I would try again but probably eat them in person instead. The car kinda made them a tad soggy. read more

Literally EVERY SINGLE TIME I buy groceries from here I end up with damaged food, bad/molding produce, soured (vacuum sealed) meat, etc. Every time, no matter how well I inspect the food before buying. It is SO frustrating to get home and start cooking a meal and discover the food you bought is bad. I spend stupid amounts of money here on groceries because it is unfortunately the best option around, which isn't saying much. So disappointing... I've wanted to write a review for a while but couldn't figure out how to be honest but not sound rude, but I don't care anymore. Telling customers to drive back 20 minutes both ways to exchange food is ridiculous. Do better the first time. UPDATE: I went from spending $1,200 / month here to maybe $20 / month and that's only if I'm desperate for something and in the area. We get a weekly farm delivery now instead. No surprise here today when the majority of the produce I examined had mold in it. And yes, this was happening long before Covid even happened. I visit this store when I'm in town, caring for my parents. My father has spent thousands of dollars here, since it opened. It's his favorite grocer. They do have a nice florist. Here's what I have to say: shop here if you're white and if you are dark brown like me, shop here knowing that staff will follow you; that self check out will be SCRUTINIZED and that managers will apologize for said racial scrutiny. With big ole baby fawn eyes--"Ahm so sahry you experienced that, ma'ammmmmm. Y'all dark brown: go to Common Market, Mom's and even Giant. Extremely busy parking lot at Wegmans tonight (Saturday night, not surprising) but no wait at all for self-checkout. Their bakery selection is huge so picking out a dessert for a Friendsgiving was no easy task. The prices are much more expensive that I'd spend normally but the cupcakes I purchased (pumpkin spice cream cheese cupcakes) were absolutely delicious! read more

Wegmans is still a joke. Prices higher than...Food Lion. Yeah. But who is the GENIUS who decided to reorganize the entire store weeks before thanksgiving??? If it was a zoo before, it's a complete circus now. No one can find anything. And a lot of the produce shouldn't be out for display. It's not even worthy to feed to livestock. And now that you have to bring your own bags (I don't really care; I have plenty of bags), it slooows down the cashiers. They never have enough check out lanes open as it is, but now it takes 2-3 times as long as they deal with bags that aren't as easy to pack. read more

While I was traveling back home, I really needed to get some quick groceries but wouldnt make it in time for the grocery store in my area. My GPS told me that this Wegmens was nearby. Its very close off the exit ramp to 270. I love the Wegmens chain. They are my preferred chain when it comes to my needs. The store looked clean and still had the items I need in stock. I was able to grab some gourmet cheeses, cotton candy grapes, cold pressed juices!! I was able to grab a warm rotisserie chicken original flavor. IMO I think Wegmens takes the prize on rostisserie chicken, and for $4.99 not a bad price for a whole bird. Meat department: still good selection, good quality. I do love buying the salmon filets in the bag. Their quality compared to other stores are great. Cheese: I have a weakness for cheese, and I love their gourmet cheeses. I decided to get a brie with candied pecans on top!! Omg, game changer. Im now addicted to this. They use to have huge selection of candies in the bulk area, but cuz of COVID, its gone for now. Boo who. Since its late, theres barely any associates. This would have been a five star review, but I refuse to use self check out, cuz its not my job to check myself out, and my patience is limited when it comes to though things. They only had two lanes open with very long lines. However I will still come back. read more

This quality of this place has gone way down hill in recent years. Out of items too frequently, stopping carrying items, selling only Wegman's brands, poor quality and poor quality service. The staff used to be pleasant and helpful, but now they are cold and stern - except for the nice, young staff at the registers. read more

We were here at the grand opening many years ago. For years, this was a "happening" place with a welcoming and enjoyable eating area with an extensive hot-bar area. The prices were average to better than average, the service was top notch, and the selection was terrific. Little by little things have gotten worse to where a Wegmans is just OK. Going today, we knew that most of the hot bar/salad bar selections were already gone, and yet the per pound price is shockingly higher than ever. We knew that their large pizzas were smaller in size yet had a higher price point. Nevertheless, we were in the area and decided to have lunch there before picking up a few things. New change: There are no more Coke machines (and therefore no more refills or free water). They only have bottled beverages for you to purchase. New change: Even though we bought a pizza to eat in their very large - and now, dead - eating area, they did not have plates to give us. The bored pizza worker said that we would have to buy plates in the grocery store!!!! When I expressed my disbelief, she said the best she could do was give each of us an empty pizza-by-the-slice container (to use as a plate). Wegmans: look at the vibe of the eating area that takes up so much of your floorplan. I wish you could have felt the vibe during its heyday. The grocery store continues to have a wide selection, although the layout is more confusing than it has been in the past. Prices seem more expensive than the typical grocer now. Wegmans used to be a place we'd bring out-of-town visitors to for the "wow" factor. Now, they're just a moderately expensive "meh." read more

The store is going down the drains!!! Food selection is going down, and more and more empty shelves can be seen. I went shopping today and couldn't find basics, like small cucumbers, my favorite salami (feline, I was told it would not probably be back for a while - why?), bread (only two loaves of half broken ciabatta), few tomatoes, and poor selection of fruit. You get a much bigger selection of fruit in small Paris shops that in this supermarket. Years ago people claimed it was comparable to Whole Foods, and it was not then and much worse now. I'd rather shop at Food Lion now, as food selection is similar and prices much lower. What's happening in this country? read more

Good place to shop for cheeses and fresh bread. Not so good for fresh produce and meat. My curbside order today included rotting lettuce. It had soaked through the grocery bag they delivered to my car and now I get to clean rotten "lettuce juice" out of my trunk. I give up buying fresh produce here. I contacted the pharmacy about flu vaccines for my daughter, 34 Autistic, Down's syndrome and selected mutism. She is unable to tolerate a mask without serious emotional problems. They were so very kind and suggested they give her the vaccine outside. I called when we arrived. They came out and we're exceptional in their care and respect for my precious daughter. It went without a hitch. I will never forget the experience. read more

This review is directed at the Corporate Headquarters. I use to enjoy Wegmans shopping, but in the last year prices keep going up. Nothing special about the quality anymore isn't what it use be. Wegmans use to be the Wow factor, not anymore, more like at shock factor. Shouldn't a $9.50 sub be good? They are very bread filled with less meat or cheese. The salad bar and hot bar are ridiculous $9.99 so if your getting Chinese food in the container we spent over $32.50 for lunch., was it great no, was it ok, yes, was it worth that? NO all the prepared vegetable in produce are off the charts what they charge. Not sure I want to come back here anymore. read more

The Frederick Wegman's catering has demonstrated they cannot be trusted. A very specific order was made to be pickup the day before Thanksgiving and the catering group pulled a switch on two of the special ordered items for cheaper products. First the Turkey Breast platter for 14 was purchased, it was switched with Turkey Curved Dinner platter for 6. A the Turkey Platters are advertised with Gravy included, non was provide. The Sweat Potatoes were purchase it was replaced with squash. This is fraud! The manager of the catering department needs to be fired! read more

This is specifically for the Wegman's Floral Department - they did my wedding florals and they did AMAZING. From the beginning I had no idea what to expect, but Beth from the floral department was kind and responsive to all my questions! I ordered ~5 weeks in advance (very last minute!) and my flowers were ready for pickup the day of my wedding and BEAUTIFUL. They did an amazing job and they looked as good as a florist's! I ordered their Fly Away With Me package (bridesmaid bouquets, bridal bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and live rose petals). They were low cost but high quality. Highly recommend this location! Other Wegman's locations I called (Pasadena, Germantown) were nowhere near as responsive as North Frederick or as great at customer service!! read more

Another wonderful store that goes under the Wegmans name, or Weggies if you're a fat guy who is way too much of a foodie for his own good. I'm sandwiched between this store and it's sister store in Germantown. I choose this store as it limits the amount of time I'm stuck on 270. It's rather easy to get to, more or less easy to get out of. If only people could learn to zipper merge onto 15... It's a foodies delight with its endless ingredients that other stores in the area just don't carry. I love that they will chop your veggies for you as shop. If only Giant could do that. Hopefully everyone is aware of how good their sourdough is. Many a time I've been tempted to go to Weggies just to pop that little bit of heaven into my mouth. They are also one of the few stockings of the delight that is Cheerwine. Another reason to go here... oh and the veggie sushi... Yep I'm a fan of Weggies. If only they would lower their prices. But it's a gourmet type of place. You're going to pay the extra bucks to pick up the stuff you can't get elsewhere. read more

Wegmans is like Disneyland to me. I agree with one reviewer who said that you can do pretty well if you memorize the aisles and stick to your list, but the minute you start looking around and realizing that you just HAVE to get that chunk of Brie and Marco Polo bread and charcuterie and coconut cake and mochi ice cream balls and all of the other amazing stuff that they offer, it's easy to walk out of there with a $100 grocery bill for one person. Their brand of goods is cheaper and of higher quality than any other grocery store that I've been to. Being from upstate New York, I'm also grateful to now be able to get regional foods like Bison dip, Weber's mustard and Kummelweck rolls ( for beef on weck). It gets crowded, but never terribly so. We usually try to go on off times, like early in the morning or Friday night. The aisles seem a little wider than other stores since two carts and a single person can pass through with ease and you never wait more than 2 people deep at the checkout. When this happens, they usually send somebody over right away to open up another lane. The people who work there are not always exceptionally friendly, but the are always helpful and will go to great lengths to help you with something (sometimes loooong beyond the point when I would rather just give up and move on, but you certainly can't fault them for that). I love their food court although the food doesn't change up much, but there should be something to satisfy everybody's tastes from pizza to sushi to Southern comfort to Indian. They have a monstrous salad bar with everything you can imagine that would go on one. I won't even get into their prepared foods (take home and heat up), because the selection is mind-boggling. The "sitdown" restaurant is fabulous and serves up great food at a fraction of what you'd pay at a fancy restaurant (although you definitely aren't paying for atmosphere). My only complaint, and by no means is it Wegmans fault, is the screwy liquor laws in Maryland. We went to a Wegmans in Philly on a Friday night and that place was HAPPENING! They had a bar that was packed and they actually sell growlers that were flying off the shelves. They had a great bottled beer selection as well; not as good as Ye Olde or Frederick Wine House, but definitely some interesting brews that I haven't seen around here and the single bottles had color-coded stickers that let you know exactly what you were paying for a mixed six pack. Wegman's sub shop used to be fantastic. At 7:30pm , they ran out of bread and only had wraps remaining as an a option. The grocery store had plenty of bread. Why couldn't you use some of those loaves. They refused. Lost me as a customer. read more

Nearly two years later, this Wegmans still falls sadly short in the inventory department. Not only that, but I've written two letters to customer service and received NO response. The latest convergence of disappointment happened a few days before Halloween, when Wegmans was not only totally out of tiny pumpkins that I wanted to get for an office party, but the entire place was already stocked for Christmas. If you need to roll out the holidays that early, don't do it at the expense of the current occasion. On this same trip, several other items were missing, from the guilty-pleasure udon they hide on the bottom shelf near the other instant noodles to the type of salad dressing I like. Xochitl corn chips were placed on several distinct end-caps, but the no-salt version were really difficult to locate. Gone was my brand of rice, with no explanation, and several other items were relocated. Don't even think about trying to buy premium items here. For example, if you want hot chocolate, I hope you like Swiss Miss! I sound curmudgeonly, but I can't help it. I can live with Swiss Miss, okay? But it's frustrating to be constantly thwarted in my effort to restock basic items. (Remember the time they were out of plain gelatin? Remember the time they were out of eggplants?) I also know how fabulous Wegmans can be, so I see this location as lagging way behind the Wegmans standard. And more than that, I'm not sure why nobody ever replies to my attempts at direct communication with the store's management. read more

This used to be one of my favorite, if not my all-time favorite grocery store, until their chicken started going downhill. Their prepared lemon pepper grilled chicken has recently acquired the texture of rubber. Also, their boneless and skinless chicken breasts stink when you open the package, making me question the freshness. I did not eat them. However, their bakery is wonderful and I've always been delighted with their doughnuts and muffins especially.
