Great selection of organic and local foods, plus the café serves amazing healthy meals. Super friendly staff and a real community vibe--definitely worth a visit.

Went back and purchased the same bread. You guessed it, it scanned the regular price and did not apple the reduced price. This time I caught it.

Local local local, that's what the Common Market is all about. It's a lil oasis amongst the chaos, providing refuge for all those who enjoy adventure, community, and affordability. Starting with the Cafe options - chefs kiss! I've tried just about every sandwich on the menu and they have done no wrong. A great place to stop for a quick bite + drinks My top: Vegan Fak'n Egg & Bac'n on ciabatta + chipotle sauce Blue BBQ Common Market Club Not Your Common BLT Becoming a co-op member was one of the best decisions I made. Any time I stop at the Common Market, I feel a sense of home - a nostalgia a kin to a long hug, where the Common Market staff remind me that I'm not just a transaction, but a part of a community. Don't get me started on the options available - from the freshest, seasonal items to BIPOC owned products - there's always a wealth of selections & the best part is, if you don't see something you want, it's always worth talking to the Co-op staff!

I don't get the two reviews that were negative about this place. First the review that one starred the store because of a Covid-19 outbreak. They were very open to their customers about what had happened. However some people use that as a reason to go all 'chicken little' over the situation. No one was ever at risk of exposure. This a 'deep clean' of the store was not necessary. Second the friendliness of the staff. You should expect everyone to be false friendly to you all the time. It may make you feel good to have staff fawn over you, but it's false. They greet me and they check me out. I don't look for smiles or pretend friendship. Some however obviously do.... The place is a welcome addition to Frederick and it's better for a fat guy like me to move around in. It's a whole lot less cramped and a greater selection to be had. I'm told the community spaces are larger, which is a huge benefit to Frederick. It's just a shame that their grand opening had to be during the hard times that we are all facing together. Even more so with negative nancies about who want to put a place down without caring about the full facts. I'll be in as often as my waistline allows. And yes I'm also a long time member.

Just a fun place with good people and tasty food. A bit pricy but everything is now. A bit better than Mom's

Not very Common for a market!!…read more Everything here is exceptional. I love all the fruit, I literally just ate a peach and was so compelled to write about it. The staff, while is mostly comprised of college age hippies are knowledgeable and actually care. The whole store is very clean and the meat counter while very small screams old school home made!! The sausages looked so good I had to buy some, and after cooking them up with some onions and peppers my neighbors above me who are vegans were peeking as they chewed their grass and had to rethink their decisions on eating food that my food eats. There are fresh made sandwiches that they will press for you and give it that grilled awesomeness that only comes when your doing something special with meat and cheese and good bread pressed with 400 degrees of steel resulting in a sandwich that makes you want to light a subway franchise on fire. Now on my most recent trip, covid is rampantly knocking off people so a lot of the fun stuff has been put away. Normally they have fresh cooked food that you can box up hot and take and eat. The selection ranges from American favorites like loaf of meat and spaghetti to Indian food to soups and salads ( spinach salad is good, the dressing makes it the bomb dot com ) and fresh cookies and breads oh my. ( Public Notice: no lions or tigers ) You will spend more money per item here than Walmart. They don't have as good of a selection as Wegman's. They don't have a coupon app thingy that makes you think your saving money like everyone else. But you will feel like your saving baby seals and once you leave and start to load stuff into your vehicle a rabbit will wink at you in a attempt to say thank you. The lesson here is pay more money for food that tastes like food and not canned crap. Yes, we all like to save money, and that's noble. But there is a time to eat your extra long chili cheese coney ( much love sonic ) and there is a time to bite into a peach and feel like your a little kid again and have wonderful sweet juice roll off your chin and life is once again, is worth living. Stay hungry my friends, - JW

Clean, spacious good quality of produce and other goods, and friendly staff. I'd be more than happy to make this my regular place to do my weekly shop. But it's a bit far away... But during those times of Covid this place was not quite a life saver, but a quality of living saver. Kudos!

But then you had to go and put a GIANT WAD OF HAIR, in a tray of cinnamon buns from the bakery. Not only that, it was all the way at the bottom so now I have to live with the fact that I let my family eat almost an entire tray of disgusting hair infested cinnamon buns all week. I might be able to convince myself it never happened with ONE stray hair (NOT saying it's ok) but a WAD of hair?!?! This should be a federal crime. I feel so violated. So, what's the verdict here? You've got some sick-o who puts hair in the food because they hate mankind, or you've got some jerk-o who won't wear a hairnet because they've got ZERO respect for anyone & hates their job with a passion. To make matters worse, 2 months ago I was buying bread here & wanted to try the new Natures Own bread, and there were little black fruit flys flying around inside of the bag. I convinced myself it was Natures Own's fault, and gave the bag to the person behind the seafood counter (closest employee) and continued my shopping. Now one can only wonder...
