Field Fresh Farmers Market is a Saturday market outside of downtown Frederick. Due to the pandemic,…read morevendors are spread out far from each other and guests regulated so it doesn't get too crowded. My little family went around 11am on a Saturday in October and it wasn't crowded at all. They have a variety of vendors selling produce, meats and other products like soaps. There's a vendor selling baked Amish goods. It's a true farmers market selling items rather than grab-and-go food. Keep that in mind if you expect to get breakfast here. There isn't a stand for that and no coffee truck/vendor. Vendors take credit card.

There were several different types of tents set up which sold a plethora of items including fruits, vegetables, breads and baked goods, wine and cheeses, jewelry, and even hot sauces. All of the vendors were friendly and inviting! There was also a food truck alongside the vendors which sold snow cones and other treats for a hot day. A cafe sat next to the food truck which served coffee, bagels, and other breakfast foods. I bought a fresh watermelon from one of the tents and was surprised to see that it was a yellow watermelon when I cut into it-- I have never seen this before so I was hesitant. It was surprisingly delicious and juicy! I would visit this farmers market again. I do wish there were more vendors to provide a larger selection of goods.

Not very Common for a market!!…read more Everything here is exceptional. I love all the fruit, I literally just ate a peach and was so compelled to write about it. The staff, while is mostly comprised of college age hippies are knowledgeable and actually care. The whole store is very clean and the meat counter while very small screams old school home made!! The sausages looked so good I had to buy some, and after cooking them up with some onions and peppers my neighbors above me who are vegans were peeking as they chewed their grass and had to rethink their decisions on eating food that my food eats. There are fresh made sandwiches that they will press for you and give it that grilled awesomeness that only comes when your doing something special with meat and cheese and good bread pressed with 400 degrees of steel resulting in a sandwich that makes you want to light a subway franchise on fire. Now on my most recent trip, covid is rampantly knocking off people so a lot of the fun stuff has been put away. Normally they have fresh cooked food that you can box up hot and take and eat. The selection ranges from American favorites like loaf of meat and spaghetti to Indian food to soups and salads ( spinach salad is good, the dressing makes it the bomb dot com ) and fresh cookies and breads oh my. ( Public Notice: no lions or tigers ) You will spend more money per item here than Walmart. They don't have as good of a selection as Wegman's. They don't have a coupon app thingy that makes you think your saving money like everyone else. But you will feel like your saving baby seals and once you leave and start to load stuff into your vehicle a rabbit will wink at you in a attempt to say thank you. The lesson here is pay more money for food that tastes like food and not canned crap. Yes, we all like to save money, and that's noble. But there is a time to eat your extra long chili cheese coney ( much love sonic ) and there is a time to bite into a peach and feel like your a little kid again and have wonderful sweet juice roll off your chin and life is once again, is worth living. Stay hungry my friends, - JW

So the common market has always been a huge staple for me and I really appreciate the variety of vegan and gluten free options they have every time I visit home. I've never really gone to the location in 7th street, but I decided yesterday morning to grab a bite to eat and order a drink. I never really anticipated a bad experience, and it wasn't all that terrible, however, the clerk completely forgot to make my breakfast wrap and there was a lady that ordered 10 mins after me that got her food before me. I was already half way through my drink and I was shocked. The clerk even looked at me and said "oh sorry I forgot about your wrap it's coming out soon". To top it all off I ended up getting sick when I ate half of it, and I feel like the only reason the wrap made me sick to my stomach was because the young man was rushing to get my order out. Not a very good first time experience at this location, and it's sad to say this will be my last time here because the last thing I need is food poisoning. Other than that, the cashiers were helpful and friendly and the store was nice and clean.

There isn't a large farm or storefront to greet you, just turn off the main road and drive the road to park and start pickin'. I love that the people are friendly, that they provided buckets (although you can bring your own), and they don't try to price-gauge you for every little thing. We picked some strawberries and sugar snap peas, both smaller than what you would be used to at the grocery stores, but packed with so much delicious flavor! The girls had an absolute blast going through the fields, even trying to squeeze in a taste (we had to hawk-eye watch them). I loved feeling like we were supporting a local business, but also what farms should be and what I grew up with (We didn't have to make a reservation, we didn't have to pay for each person, we just paid for what we picked) It's not a huge operation, but it did the job for us. This market is small though, and there wasn't a ton of produce to choose from. I did score some fresh zucchini for dinner tonight... and the lady helping me was super nice. I also got some iced coffee- the lady manning that stand was telling a gentleman all about her business troubles and didn't have a ton of time for me, though she did call out a few hints in between paragraphs with her friend "There's a trash can right behind you"... "and I've already liquidated the business", etc... Finally, I stopped by a bakery stand with several nice ladies that made a fuss about how cute my daughter was. I ended up buying a blueberry muffin that was pretty good- a little dense but great flavor with fresh berries and not too sweet... and two cookies that unfortunately were undercooked... they looked good, but the insides were raw... So overall, lots of nice people, we're glad we checked this place out, and we'll probably give it another try in a few weeks when there may be more produce available.
