At the pumps, one of us was startled by a number of spiders and webs. So she left and neither of us returned for several years. The place apparently changed owners, who cleaned it up. It is certainly not a classy place, but you'll find a very good selection of cold beverages, snacks, candies, basics, ice, and smokes. And if you buy the same items over and over, the owners will make sure it is always there. In terms of gas prices, they are usually around 2 cents lower than the surrounding areas. They sell gasoline, diesel, and kerosine. It's just over the Potomac bridge from Brunswick, MD, on the Virginia side. You'll see ALL kinds of folks here, from the trashiest to the classiest... but don't worry, usually everyone is nice enough.

The little shop is pretty run down and dumpy but it was well stocked with convenience foods. The lady working there needs to get a sense of humor like her husband has. My husband went in to see if they had a bathroom. She just rudely said NO. The redeeming comment was when the husband said, "well you can just go out back if you want." He chuckled as he said this which was adorable, given the looks that the wife was giving him. After using this makeshift toilet, we were off on our adventure!

Like other Sheetz, the light poles have a Level 1 charger so we spent a half hour or so watching the house battery on the Sprinter go from 15% to 30% before it was time to continue onwards. The interior is nice, and the speed was quite quick. The issue was the quality of the food. The bread on the turkey sub was stale. The tortillas were also hard. And the fries were soggy even when they arrived to me. I do expect higher quality food during my Sheetz runs. I also think the franchise as a whole underwhelms when it comes to burgers. They always taste kind of boiled instead of grilled.

Recently, I started a new job so I figured I'd swing by this place again. However, it's not a place I will continue to go to since it seems like total chaos now. Apparently there's new management and there's no sense of communication or a sense of urgency with any of the workers. They almost seem to be in full-on agony just being there. There's hardly ever any food to pick from the hot bar and what's there is overcooked and dried up. Last week, I called in and order to be picked up. I get there and there's no one in the kitchen fixing anything. The cook/manager shows up and says she had a meeting and too many people were asking questions so she forgot to make my food. After getting it, I go to pay and get an outrageous price. When I explained I had a simple combo, it took them all ten minutes to figure out what to charge me. By the time I got to pay and get out of the store, I literally had 3 minutes to try and eat my sandwich, which was thrown together like slop, and my potato wedges that looked as if they were a week old. It's a shame that a business that was really good has now joined the ranks of sloppy and lazy.
