I'd about given up on getting vaccinated altogether when a friend mentioned she thought Hancock's Pharmacy had the J&J vaccine on hand. I called to see if they had it, and if so, to make an appointment. The pharmacist I spoke to confirmed they did indeed have the J&J on hand and in fact it was the ONLY one they offered. I then asked to make an appointment and was told they're doing walk-ins! Holy macaroni! That's almost TOO easy after all the BS I got everywhere else. I drove up the 7 miles, walked in, filled out a couple of forms, and abra cadabra, I was one and DONE! They kept me seated for 15 minutes to be sure I had no adverse reactions and off I went. If my part D prescription plan used Hancock's Pharmacy, I'd use them for certain. They even had a better selection of greeting cards than Walgreens or CVS! THANK YOU my local pharmacy! My husband got in the car and drove to Walgreens and he got there at 6:58. They had put the gates down and he rattled the gates and didn't find anybody. I had called them when he was on his way and said that he was on his way. They didn't even have the courtesy to wait till he showed up so I could get my prescriptions. They had closed earlier than 7. I have changed my prescriptions and I'm now going to use CVS on Washington Street in Middletown. That was the worst customer service. Liars, too--they promised delivery of a medication I needed right away, and deliberately left it behind--it was never delivered--because I dared to bother the pharmacy by actually holding 40 minutes on the phone until they picked up. I was calling from an office and ringing the pharmacy on four lines. They ignored them all. There are a half-dozen other CVS stores nearby. This location would be better off bulldozed and turned into a community garden. Without a doubt, the single worst pharmacy I have ever encountered--their understaffing (CVS policy is to understaff, and was even pre-COVID) leads to mistakes--a public health problem when the pharmacy is underequipped to safely and adequately serve its community.

It was easy to navigate and the red box at the front was easy to use to check what the sale is on my items! Gio, the shift supervisor, assisted us at checkout and took care of everything smoothly. In contrast to the chronically understaffed chain pharmacies, Walmart's pharmacy is staffed--and by people who coöperate with customers, rather than shuttle them along as nuisances as happens too often at the chains. Though small, the pharmacy is well-stocked and offers a full array of vaccinations, performed efficiently if their COVID procedures are any indication. The staff is courteous and helpful. This is a go-to if, like me, the thought of dealing with CVS and Walgreens gives you a headache.
