After one terrible experience at a medical supply store in West Hartford and one not so great one in Torrington, Medicare sent me here. Now, usually I would have been extremely upset... Medicare sent me here, and they cannot even take my insurance for a wheelchair, due to new insurance regulations. This gentleman was the kindest and most helpful person I have met in a long time! He knew all the information that no other medical supplier knew (or at least shared with me!). He printed up all the information that I needed for the medical suppliers that I needed to contact. He also made a suggestion for the exact one that I should go to! I wish there was more people like him in this world! Helpful, kind and super friendly!! I would recommend Better Health LLC to anyone who is looking for a medical supply store!! One suggestion for consumers, call first if you have Medicare. Under the new Obamacare, some laws have changed and they only can cover certain items. That's the downside, but i called Medicare and THEY sent me there! Honestly, a blessing in disguise. Even with a nerve block and pain medication, I was in excruciating pain. Looking back, I wish someone had emphasized how important a motorized medical recliner would be after this type of surgery. I called On The Mend around midday, hoping they could help. Jennifer and the entire team understood exactly what I was going through and arranged to have a recliner delivered that very afternoon. That chair became an absolute game changer for my comfort, my sleep, and ultimately my recovery. What impressed me most wasn't just the equipment--it was the people. They truly understand how difficult surgery and recovery can be, and they treat you with genuine compassion, empathy, and kindness. You never feel like just another customer. To make matters worse, my credit card had been compromised during this time. Jessica immediately made notes on my account and coordinated with Marcy in billing, and they couldn't have been more understanding or accommodating while I waited for my replacement card. That level of trust and flexibility meant more to me than I can express. I also have to recognize the two gentlemen who delivered my recliner.
