After one terrible experience at a medical supply store in West Hartford and one not so great one in Torrington, Medicare sent me here. Now, usually I would have been extremely upset... Medicare sent me here, and they cannot even take my insurance for a wheelchair, due to new insurance regulations. This gentleman was the kindest and most helpful person I have met in a long time! He knew all the information that no other medical supplier knew (or at least shared with me!). He printed up all the information that I needed for the medical suppliers that I needed to contact. He also made a suggestion for the exact one that I should go to! I wish there was more people like him in this world! Helpful, kind and super friendly!! I would recommend Better Health LLC to anyone who is looking for a medical supply store!! One suggestion for consumers, call first if you have Medicare. Under the new Obamacare, some laws have changed and they only can cover certain items. That's the downside, but i called Medicare and THEY sent me there! Honestly, a blessing in disguise. When we arrived, there was a sign that said closed due to renovating.. Fortunately, there were 2 women sitting out front, one taller woman who was in her approximate 60s and an older woman sitting around 80 years old. My wife approached both ladies and explained we had a couple of items to donate. The woman in her "60's" immediately in a loud offensive manner said WE'RE CLOSED, WE'RE RENOVATING!!!! AND WE DON'T TAKE THINGS ON FRIDAYS. My wife told her the website says you take things On Fridays. The lady in her 60s turned her back on my wife and walked away. I will never donate to Charlie's Closet again. The lady in her 80s did apologize to my wife.
